Having a massive neck inlay that continues on the headstock would generally suggest a Chinese eBay special to me, e.g something like [url="http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Inlaid-Strat-style-electric-guitar-Solid-Burl-Maple-SE157-/160703722866?pt=Guitar&hash=item256ab03572#ht_4850wt_1185"]this[/url]. There used to be a bunch of sellers who sold similar things, basically Chinese factory guitars with insane inlays added.

I had one a while ago- worked fine on bass, could do a great Cliff Burton imitation with the built in fuzzes. Unfortunately that was all I knew how to do with it Didn't notice any [unintended] low end loss. I would definitely consider it if I was after a wah. You really do need to RTFM though, it can be a bit fiddly to set up.

They get sold under various names with varying degrees of insane inlaying, usually with unusual (but not original) body styles- they had one that looked kind of like a Ritter. Antoniotsai was the brand I remember, I think. Not seen any in a while (although I haven't really looked).

Could you not just put a battery clip on a long wire and tape it to your strap?

What kind of spec did you decide you needed for the projector? That's the main area I have no clue in. As for visuals, I've been doing a bit of graphics programming (mainly using [url="http://processing.org/"]Processing[/url]) so was figuring on rolling my own visuals. Got lots of ideas about syncing to midi from the band, making it audio-reactive etc. Of course the band is entirely hypothetical at this point

Status do a short scale flats set, which they say should fit a 30" scale.

Idly musing here, but has anyone ever done any live visuals for music? VJing etc rather than lighting I think, or possibly combining both. If so what kind of gear did you use for it? What did you use for creating your visuals? Cheers

It can, but going down a semitone isn't likely to have a massive effect. Depends on the strings and setup you have though- if you use high action and thicker strings you're less likely to notice. Try it at home and see. As for benefits, it depends why they're doing it- I used to play with bands tuned to D for a "heavier" sound. Personally I prefer to play a 5 now anyway.
