1.
Cool! What seven string is it?
It's a Conklin Groove Tools Bill Dickens sig model.
2. Having a massive neck inlay that continues on the headstock would generally suggest a Chinese eBay special to me, e.g something like this. There used to be a bunch of sellers who sold similar things, basically Chinese factory guitars with insane inlays added.
3. Read the f***ing manual
4. I had one a while ago- worked fine on bass, could do a great Cliff Burton imitation with the built in fuzzes. Unfortunately that was all I knew how to do with it Didn't notice any [unintended] low end loss. I would definitely consider it if I was after a wah. You really do need to RTFM though, it can be a bit fiddly to set up.
5. Indeed!
6.
Moffat is a great run on the bike so no excuses there. I like the idea of a Perth bash. Great city and very friendly. Its also pretty central and fairly easy to get to from just about any direction unless you stay in the Hebrides or Orkney. I vote for Perth. Now who is gonna organise it then ??? Dave
I'm in Dundee for uni so could be up for this, work allowing. Only have one bass with me but it does have 75% more strings so should be OK.
7. From the site: "YES is the first “acoustic hearted” professional electronic drum kit. A living, beating, intensely yellow-colored Italian heart." *checks date* has their April fool's joke gone live a bit early?
8. Ha, I enjoyed that very much. Nice shades!
9. Sold a strap to Chris. Super quick payment, no problem at all. Recommended
10. I would just file the one you have done a bit. You can pick up a small file from a hardware shop for a couple of quid.
11. Yeah, I think so. Knew I recognised that headstock.
12. Heh, I was actually meaning the one with the humbucker in the bridge and the red/blue colours
13. Is the funny coloured strat some sort of "relic" finish or is that the actual paint job?
14. Some lovely stuff there! Rather drawn to the Fender super-strat for some reason.
15. Looks like a Chinese eBay special. They get sold under various names with varying degrees of insane inlaying, usually with unusual (but not original) body styles- they had one that looked kind of like a Ritter. Antoniotsai was the brand I remember, I think. Not seen any in a while (although I haven't really looked).
16. Could you not just put a battery clip on a long wire and tape it to your strap?
17. What kind of spec did you decide you needed for the projector? That's the main area I have no clue in. As for visuals, I've been doing a bit of graphics programming (mainly using Processing) so was figuring on rolling my own visuals. Got lots of ideas about syncing to midi from the band, making it audio-reactive etc. Of course the band is entirely hypothetical at this point
18. I actually thought the black and purple one was a concept mockup.
19. Status do a short scale flats set, which they say should fit a 30" scale.
20. Got this a while ago with a bass but prefer my other straps, so this is up for grabs. All leather, 3.75" wide, kind of padded. Goes from quite short to foolishly long. Used but still in good condition. Say £15 including recorded UK delivery? Open to offers or trades for WHY. SOLD
21. Idly musing here, but has anyone ever done any live visuals for music? VJing etc rather than lighting I think, or possibly combining both. If so what kind of gear did you use for it? What did you use for creating your visuals? Cheers
22. I guess it would be drop C# then (IE drop D down a half step)?
23. It can, but going down a semitone isn't likely to have a massive effect. Depends on the strings and setup you have though- if you use high action and thicker strings you're less likely to notice. Try it at home and see. As for benefits, it depends why they're doing it- I used to play with bands tuned to D for a "heavier" sound. Personally I prefer to play a 5 now anyway.
