  1. Past hour
  2. I was more freaked out that 2009 was 15 years ago!
  3. Yes it is. Now sit down, shut up and do what your told. 😁
  4. 10 years ago I knew people that were collecting 60s and 70s fenders so I wouldn’t say they were undesirable, obviously not as popular as they are now
  5. I have my Chowny SWB1 for sale. It's in extremely good condition and it currently has roundwound strings. I'm also listing it on eBay with a 10 day period. Starting price is £300. Any questions please ask.
  6. Coming in at 4.7kg according to my kitchen scales. Not the lightest but can't say I ever really noticed it being heavy - it's nicely balanced. Pretty sure it's Ash bodied.
  7. What a bizarre story. Sounds like this was treading on that fine line between pure artistic endeavour and something worthy of Private Eye's Pseuds Corner. Other opinions are available. 🙂
  8. The first thing I'd look at is the pickup height. It will be less hot if it's lowered (which will also change the tone). If you're happy with the pickup height, how are things if you just turn the volume down on the bass? If you prefer to run the volume on full, something like this could work: https://www.ehx.com/products/signal-pad/ (It's the same thing as a volume control on the instrument, but in a pedal.)
  9. I'm the only holdout in my band still using a wedge, my two guitarists use the xvives and my drummer uses a wired kit that I'll admit I don't know anything about. However it might be time to bite the IEM bullet. Having read most of the thread, the talk seems to be on the pros/cons of the concept and then the iems themselves, but what about the systems? Is there any common wisdom on the best transmitter and reciever? It would have to be wireless. I'd also need stereo, I have hearing damage in one ear (from a botched surgey, not from rock n roll excess). But other than that I'm not too hip on what's good. Digital or analogue? If analogue then what frequency band? If digital, then how would it play with 3 digital guitar wireless and two IEM wireless? The most recent 'system talk' in the thread seems to be the MIPRO MI58, is that the one to go for?
  10. It's not, but 10-15 years does make a difference. That's how it works.
  11. The tune tone control on the RH450 does much the same job - adds a grittiness through the whole dynamic range. I'm pretty sure thats what they modelled it from (having previously owned an SVP pro ...).

    Hurtsfall Gigs

Next Hurtsfall gig is opening day 2 of BLAQKHOLESUN 2024 at The Alhambra in Morecambe. We'll be on at 16.20 on Saturday 8th June but the whole weekend looks brilliant:

  15. The harnesses i get use these. Not sure what they are called
  16. So after a year and a half of using the SC I have another question. Is there a simple way to modify the input resistance of one channel (like an external load box)? I know that the input resistance of the SC is 10 meg ohm which is designed for piezo style pickups. As I’ve said before, I use the SC as my preamp with both NS EUB, and a selection of passive and active bass guitars. My passive Tony Franklin P bass appears so hot on the input of the SC that the channel gain is hardly on, and even a small amount of EQ boost has the post LED flashing away. I feel that the gain is so low that I’m actually missing something from my tone. I’m about to receive a SushiBox ‘Finally with bass in mind’ valve pre that I want to use for my bass guitar side of things and I’m worried sticking an active pre in front of the SC is only going to make things even worse.
  17. The Harley Benton HB60 (which I have) and, reportedly, the Guild Starfire remain narrow. I am not 100% sure they remain as narrow as the nut, but they remain fairly narrow. As others have mentioned, the neck expands to accommodate the "usual" 19mm string spacing at the bridge. So any bass with tighter string spacing would expand less, and you normally can check a bass' string spacing online. As for the HB60 and the Guild, they are short-scale basses with a long-scale body. This means the 12th fret is closer to the nut than in a long-scale bass, which makes it even easier to reach there. On the other hand, these are definitely not the sort of bass that people who play with their pinky on the E after the 12th fret want to buy.
  18. The Akai Headrush covers delay and tape delay effects, but is also a great (if simple) looper. Good condition (small wear spot on left hand side), velcro on bottom. Fully operational. £140 including UK postage. More info here: https://www.akaipro.com/e2-headrush.html
  19. Today
  20. If that was the case - why does the demo on their site show 2 switches activated for some of the sounds?
  21. Ooo! I have a shipping email! Assuming Germany to UK is as efficient as ever these days I might get it next week!
  22. Open to sensible offers and postage is possible!
  23. I play my Eastwood Hooky as both a guitar and a bass which confuses quite a few people - mostly PA sound engineers. Despite mentioning this when we set up, I have discovered that it's still necessary to soundcheck one of the songs with a "guitar" part so they don't EQ out all the top end.
