  2. We have the same subs and they're extremely good and also nice and compact. A pair of them coupled together can out run our RCF 745 tops and therefore they do more than we need to do which is exactly what I want in subs. That way I know we're not pushing them too hard.

  5. Up for sale is my mate Nigel's Ashdown ORIGINal 300w microbass head model HD-1. The amp is being sold as Nigel has unfortunately passed away and his Family have asked me to sell on his gear, (12 Basses sold already - moving on to his amps and cabinets now). It's in great, unmarked condition, fully functional and there are very little usage marks on this unit . All in all its a very clean well looked after item which has been reliable from day one. Features on this unit are Effects send and return,, 1/4 '' Jack input for both passive and active basses, Hi-Lo input switch, Input gain, output gain and full bass mid and treble controls plus a shape control switch to alter the eq. There is also a DI output for connection to a pa system or mixing desk. At the rear of the unit there are two speaker outputs which run at 4 ohms. It can also be used with two 8 ohm cabs or a singe 8 or 4 ohm cab. The unit is also fan cooled and has an additional headphone socket also. These amps are very popular and retail new at between £370 and £429 so I am pricing this to sell. There is an option to collect the item but I would post to anywhere in the UK if the buyer arranges collection from me. I will accept cash on collection or bank transfer and/or Paypal. . 6. Cheap as hell but not garbage with a DI? Laney Digbeth DB-PRE is pretty awesome.
  7. I wouldn't want either to be honest. If you want a really decent preamp with a great DI and a really nice gritty overdrive, a huge range of tones then get yourself a Two Note Le Bass or the new Two Notes Revolt. You can pick up a used Le Bass for around £150
  8. All my basses except one has low pass filters. I much prefer them to standard eq. I've often wondered the same thing with filter basses, the challenge of repeatability of tones so having some presets would be helpful sometimes, though would add to the complexity and cost. When playing live i tend to move the filters subtly rather than make dramatic tone changes. Taking your last comment, mIschief can inspire innovation. 🙂
  9. I'm sure it is but that has only distortion and nothing else
  10. Yes I am, seems I was a bit hasty and it's just what I need.
  11. Is there any chance that you can identify the pickup model & manufacturer and contact them? Failing that, I'd start with physical dimension of the existing magnet and google based on those. Sam x
  12. It is literally broken, as in two parts. Please do read my OP again.
  13. Is this some sort of meta commentary?
  14. Uhm? Thanks for your reply, but what I am asking is where to get a fitting magnet? That is one of the right dimensions (size). And as I wrote I don't care if it's an exact match to the old one regarding strength, as long as it works (that is not too weak or strong to work for a pickup on a bass to work properly).
  15. You have a P with 34" scale and 19 mm string spacing. You say you want a 35" scale and probably get something with 17 mm string spacing? A small bodied 5 string, well your equation is not the easiest with your current budget. Similar ergonomics here would help you with the change. Do trials based on the ergonomics rather than pickups, or eq.
  16. Viagra Boys - Research Chemicals Nice to see the bass front & centre.
  17. Because I didn't know it was supposed to heavy, it wasn't..

  19. Well said @pete.young This might be useful, it was my starting point in getting money back on a faulty car https://www.which.co.uk/consumer-rights/advice/what-do-i-do-if-i-have-a-faulty-product-aTTEK2g0YuEy Which also offer online and telephone advice from their solicitors at a reasonable price if you need it. Contact your retailer and keep track of correspondance (emails are helpful here) usual tactic is delay in the hope you give up (though you may be lucky) so keep plugging away regularly and if answers are slow you can give them time limits by which they have to respond. Taking them to the claims court isn't expensive (there are set fees) and most businesses find it cheaper to settle than to go to court. Out of curiosity who was the retailer and what make is the sub?
