  2. selling my incredible 1975 Musicman HD130 amp. Bought this back in 2021 and had a flight case made it for it straight away. Was serviced just before I bought it as well. Sounds amazing.

  3. It’s a bargain waiting to be snapped up, GLWTS , joe
  4. Just a note to say that I will be travelling down from Aberdeen to the SE Bass Bash next weekend - so if you live somewhere along a rough line between Aberdeen, via Glasgow, North Yorkshire, down to the Eastern fringes of the capital, and fancy this bass delivered personally to your door then let me know. This offer does not extend to inside London - I'd rather post it than drive into London, lol. PM me if this is useful to your bass acquisition activities...
  5. Ah, this is the problem. The valve combo probably sounds awesome, but I really like the green/black aesthetic The amp is perfect, except it's probably a 6 hour round trip to collect But thanks for sharing!
  6. I dont find Durscell a snug fit so connector can loosen
  7. I bought this new in April last year, using it briefly before discovering GR Bass. As such, everything is in mint condition and I still have the original boxes too so shipping is an option. This is an incredibly versatile amp, so much so that I couldn't possibly run through everything it can do here. There are lots of video reviews worth watching, but I am going to guide you to our very own Dood's review here, which gives a good deep dive into the amp. Boss Katana 500 Bass Head (£734) Boss BT-DUAL Bluetooth adapter (£45), so you can adjust settings on the fly via the app Boss GA-FC pedal (£99)l, again, for ease of switching in a live setup Boss VE-22 Vocal Processor Bag (£74), a perfect fit for the amp, power lead and a couple of speaker cables Some stock pics below as a holder for now:
  8. Thanks all !
  9. Anyone else come scross this? I use them in my Sterling Ray34 but found that the battery clip fits ultra tight on one terminal but other is easy to pull off. I did an experiment last night using a VU meter to gauge output from my bass. It seems that output was quite low until I put pressure on the battery clip to mske sure good contact was made. Hey presto a bit if a pop crackle abd output increased. So Im wondering if the Duracell are shorter than other batteries and therefore the battery snap connector doesnt get pushed tightly in the compartment. Yes ive tried several brand new Duracells and new connector fitted. No loose wiring. Even done the same redt on another Sterling and its the same with the Duracell battery. Off to buy sone other brands to see if that makes a difference but may just tuck a bit of card or sponge in to ensure battery is even more snug.
  10. If I were him, I might be a little cautious about that. It's not technically his property and he probably trespassed to get it. Whether the matter gets enforced or not is another thing though.
  11. Me too. Got a stack of Markbass gear 👌
  12. Selling a couple of sets of used Elites flatwound strings, previously fitted to a P bass (cut 4 in-line). These strings have a similar tone to GHS Precision Flats (warm with prominent mids) but with slightly lower tension thanks to the round core (medium tension overall). They're also a bit smoother than the GHS flats. Ideal if you like classic flatwound tone with a comfortable, supple feel. One set has only been fitted for a few days and is still fresh. £30 The other set has been fitted for a while and have fully mellowed. Note: some parts of the silking have come off the older set. £20 Postage included in the prices. Feel free to PM me if you've got any questions
  13. Tuner screws are only to stop the tuners from spinning, so no huge loads. If it was a bridge or neck screw, or the tuner post itself, then it's a different story - but for tuner screws you can just use a matchstick and some wood or super glue, trim it flush with a sharp knife or cutters and drill for the new screw.
  14. The best cases in the world can no longer be manufactured in the UK. I have a bad feeling that this may be a weather vane for the rest of British industry.
  15. You have to set up a login…
  16. Taking sensible offers before its withdrawn and placed on the dreaded Ebay/Reverb Bargain particularly for recording but great in a live setting !!!!!!
  17. I hope the link works; https://nextdoor.co.uk/p/qCg3BGhPq-Wq?post=17592241251136&utm_source=email&s=dv2&section=post_1&mar=%recipient.mark_as_read%&ct=LN3hfA_HyJQU2UMAOEKhtWe647LrAvDq6NoTfuAHnnEEqVf0pCU6Um0qvZ1FKMDV&ec=qvcg0QMSzxDctYMCWePFXg%3D%3D&mobile_deeplink_data=eyJhY3Rpb24iOiAidmlld19wb3N0IiwgInBvc3QiOiAxNzU5MjI0MTI1MTEzNn0%3D&link_source_user_id=17592195918662
  18. Hi, Apologies for spamming 🙂 This may be not too far from Bristol: TE Twin Valve combo or a bit further to the South: TE AH300 head No idea if that comes from Peavey era though..
  19. FWIW it seems you have / will have all bass covered …and then some ! It’d be interesting to hear your experience of how this pans out
  20. that's the numbers i recall
  21. My Lowden came to me in pristine condition. One careful owner. And then me. Same issue you have - cedar top with a thin finish. But that is a big part of why it sounds so wonderful, as you’re also finding. After trying to polish out some of the earlier scratches I’ve just learned to live with it. Plus, there’s only one reason any instrument ends up looking this way - because it’s been well loved and often played.
  22. You don’t get more ‘80s than headless basses ! (Well maybe metal pointy basses ) Nothing wrong with the cricket bats , but wouldn’t you consider a full bodied Hohner Jack? Not sure if you can get left handed ones .
  23. I had a couple of BTBs back in the day - a black 405QM was my main bass for a long time and I also had a blue 406QM. I never considered them to be uncomfortable in that way, and I've had various guitars over the years which I certainly did (an absolutely lovely-sounding PRS CE was the very worst offender and had to go back) so it's not that I just don't notice it as 'a thing'. It's possible that they've changed the shape of the BTB since I owned mine, but the photos of newer ones look very familiar.
  24. Let's hope it's not his main gig - Nobody buys G&L's, hence the company folding. Obvs.
