  3. The ones I design don't weigh a ton, because I employ well braced 12mm plywood construction. Commercial cabs tend to use minimally braced, if braced at all, 18mm or heavier material. That's because bracing is a labor intensive process, which adds to cost.
  4. New unused Schaller tuners (4) & screws. Bass side fitting. Price includes UK postage.
  5. I'm trying to locate the brand name of a particular bass combo from the late 2000s (comparable to the Mark Bass Marcus Miller CMD 250). It's not Eden, Orange, SWR or Ampeg, I just know that it was super expensive and I tried it a couple times and loved it and I can't for the life of me remember the brand. Sorry I'm so cooked. Any ideas? Please and thank you.
  6. New unopened blade switch. I fitted one to a Reverend Triad with excellent results. This identical switch is surplus to requirements. Price includes UK postage.

  9. @Richard R Now that's an interesting idea. How wide are the hex pickups? Currently the middle channel is 115mm, you can see that below. Which is good as thats what it's designed to be That accommodates just about all the pickups I've seen and checked, I have not looked at the Boss GK-B pickups though as they looked expensive, and TBH, I had no idea about them. Do they mount to the body or to the pickguard? The drill pattern below in the middle is for a Precision bass in the middle (split pickups) and also for a Jazz style setup either side. Its not a problem to add more or different drill patterns depending on size. The holes below are all M2.5 threaded (or they will be once I sit down and do them). Pickguard mounting systems are easier, I have designed a couple of adapters to make body fixing pickups work suspended from the pickguard. There's nothing to stop me making that 115mm channel wider or smaller. I've changed one parameter down to 110mm and get this. There's something not quite right with my parametric design as it should "just work", but I'll find out why its 0.56mm out, but not tonight. Also whats the size of the electronics that need to go in the guitar, if any? The chamber below can be made bigger left to right by changing the Voroni shape. It can't get much bigger top to bottom as it would look odd. The chamber is 33.8mm deep at the side closest to the bridge and 21mm deep at the bottom. These can be relatively easily changed and I suspect it's bigger than any mass production bass. Thanks Rob
  10. Nah, they're all in the same room and might actually be, just possibly, talking to each other. None of the nerds I know talk to other people... Thats just uncool. Rob
  11. I think you need two USB ports to do the job properly, one USB looks like it goes to the accelerometer, this apears to be mounted on the extruder head, no idea how, and the other USB to the newly flashed Klipper board. You *might* be able to drive the newly flashed Klipper board through the UART via the GPIO. One of the videos talks about that, Can you do this? Is a UART exposed via that way? My hardware knowledge here is extremely sketchy. Methinks, you're going to need another Pi.

  16. Speaking generally I believe there are both for export and non export models of Japanese Fender with the non export being of better quality with Ash or Alder bodies as opposed to Basswood. I thing the non export ones have the grooved bridge saddles as opposed to smooth, the large vintage style tuners and the hootenanny button on the back of the headstock. The export models are generally still decent basses but the non export ones are the special ones.

  18. Thanks, I think you're both probably right. I've never seen an SD like this hence my query. This is the second one I have seen for sale recently but on reflection maybe it was a different advert for the same one.
  19. Is there any reason that subs weigh a ton? Is a genuinely lightweight sub possible?
  20. I played this exact combo. Missed a complete steal on eBay a few days ago.
  21. Had to share this. It’s Harvey mason- chameleon band at the Java jazz festival. Freddie’s playing is so good. Pocket legend but so groovy. He has the special sauce. I LOVE how he makes those Bartolini’s sing. Wow. Kamasi is a legend in my eyes. enjoy. I did.
  22. The Earl Haig with Bluesfire today, a short-notice gig to fill in for a very good local band. Good numbers, maybe 100 at the start, quite a few more by the end. Setting up, a dodgy di lead on my amp was freaking when the spots turned on. Took a while to track down. But we had the full light show, there will be photos. First half it seemed ok to us, but apparently sound was very harsh. Our sound guy unfamiliar with house pa. Second half sounded better apparently. Audience randomly joined in the vocals for sharp dressed man, quite a lot of dancing and upriarious applause. Although some of the time we couldn't see the audience for smoke. Lots of happy, enthusiastic punters and great feedback. Alex got a few sets of applause for his solos, was like a jazz gig! Apparently the bit where we co-ordinate and Alex does trills and I do finger tapping was 'epic' - we think it's silly but fun 😁 Lost track of time so started to finish early but ended up doing three encores. Were taken aback to get applause just for starting Purple Rain. Final song was let's stick together which gets manic and my fingers started behaving oddly and then virtually cramped up... just made it to then end.
  23. Not yet, I’ll be experimenting this week. I’ll be trying it after the Stanley Clarke and seeing what the EUB sounds like through it.
