Tried listening to The Stranglers today....
Velarian replied to Beedster's topic in General Discussion
I thought I’d ask Chat GTP this question and it said it was having a bit of trouble getting the answer. It did however suggest listening to the part in question and: - 1. Slow down the playback (many music players support this). 2. Muddle through on your bass or keyboard, testing different notes to find the right match. 😂😂😂 So, just like we’ve always done things in the time-honoured tradition of transcribing tracks. -
U OK hun? I have a cheese grater called Pierre. Baked beans are delicious and doubly so due to the rampant post bean consumption guffage, what's not to like? Apart from our very own resident Egyptian deity, obvs. *raises hand* Because the hours it would take to simply summon you on the oijua board make communication on points such as this counter productive. Fair.

Bought a Squier CV Mustang bass from Lozz - We agreed to meet halfway which meant a nice stop at a service station along the M4. Money and bass was promptly exchanged, the bass was exactly as described then we then proceeded to talk all things bass/gigs/music for over an hour! An absolute gent to deal with 🤩

What is the best bass stand? I've tried a few over the years. I like them to fold up, have a neck support (I had an instrument crash off one which just had the body support) and is light. The closest I got was called Ultimate although it was nicked from a gig.

NBD: Slightly modified Fender Flea Jazz
HeadlessBassist replied to HeadlessBassist's topic in Bass Guitars
No, I'm not brave enough to try and modify mine much, either. Looking at my American Original [which I've had for nearly seven years], the nitro finish is just starting to show tiny flakes in places here and there, but we're talking pin-hole sized dots. No checking, though. -

I read the story on Reddit from the guy who gave the original '61 to Flea, and ended up getting a prototype signed Modulus in return. Apparently he paid $6000 for it at a store in LA. -

Andertons have become my first port of call (after Amazon) for music gear. Good prices and ive sent a few things back over time and it's always been smooth, quick and hassle free. One day I will go and visit them as they aren't too far.

I don't like painted necks at all but looking through this thread I don't think that can be an irrational hatred because so many of us don't like the horrible sweaty, sticky things. -

Bartolini MK1 Soapbar sized pickups that sound like Active EMGs
bnt replied to Delberthot's topic in Accessories and Misc
The new EMG E5Ws are what might finally convince me to get an Ibanez EHB, since all but their most expensive models have the poorly-reviewed Bartolini BH2s. (On Thomann, the EHB1265MS is less expensive than the EHB1135MS, for some reason I don't quite see.) I tend to prefer the EMG way of thinking: Active starts at the pickups, not by adding an active EQ after passive pickups and controls. - Today
