I too had a Monaco and it was a great single cab gig rig Highly recommend

Oh and if you ever change your MX5 in for a Boxster I can confirm it will fit in the frunk with a bit of room to spare.....🙂

Where can I buy GHS Pressurewound Bronze in UK?
Neill_S replied to maxr's topic in General Discussion
Hi, how did the Alien sound with those strings? I'm thinking of getting the fretless so that noise will be even more annoying! I have those pressure wounds on my fretless electric & they're a good compromise. -
Indeed, and due to the tollerance of preamp voltage sources, and how batteries maintain their voltage to near the end, thats still the same gig and you should have changed the battery ages ago!

Band Mule: A calendar app for bands Anyone using it?
pete.young replied to Phil Starr's topic in General Discussion
Yes, I've used it. It's OK but not brilliant. Wheres The Gig was much easier to use but they started charging silly money for it. It does some things that Google Calendar does not. The Availability screen shows at a glance when people are available or not for a gig, provided that people fill it in and stand by it. It does set list management and you can build up a library of songs that you can then drag into set lists. It has limited multi-band support but this may have improved since I last used it. -
Sounds fine Daryl - have you joined the Rumble club or was it just a hired in rig? 😆

Blu…nice job…love how calm you right hand is. Wish I could look that cool when performing! Don’t personally use a pick, but really like your sound!

Another Google calendar advocate but one band that I am in insists on using 'Timetree' app. It does the job with no issues but Google is just convenient for across devices. -
This. My gear is all repairable and/or replaceable - it might not be cheap and it might take some time but it can be done. Myself, particularly now I'm in my 60s, maybe not so much.

Thanks buddy.

If I remember correctly, if you watch the new "Get Back" remaster thing of the Beatles that Peter Jackson did, you can see a set list taped to the side of Paul's Hofner, presumed to be from their Shea Stadium gig?

I have a Monaco. Used it for the first time in anger at an outdoor festival last Sunday and I've done a few rehearsals with it. Bloody brilliant. Dispersion is fabulous and the cab didn't break a sweat with a 5 string Spector. The build quality feels better than my Barefaced BB2 cabs I used for 10 years - they never failed on me but the cabinets always felt a bit fragile. I've used various Bergs as well and sold them all after a couple of gigs - they didn't have enough booty for what I was looking for at the time. The thing I haven't seen anyone mention so far is that the Monaco is really good at lower volumes too. The BB2 was always a bit full on for home use - it just sounded huge all the time which isn't necessarily great for in the living room. Wholeheartedly recommended

Google Sheets also works really well, it allows for a more bespoke grid of information. We have the whole year planned out with gigs, potential gigs, rehearsals, meetings, and each gig has all of the info anyone needs; location, deps, fee splits etc. -
Thanks mate, I'm down in Sunny Swindon 🌞 😆 Would really love to try one.

I don't want to rain on @Linus27 parade, but I hope this is the soundcheck. Otherwise why is no-one down the front and what is that carrier bag doing on stage?

Franz Bassguitars Merak 5 string - boutique German Jazz bass

Raising cash so up for sale is IMHO one of the finest tracking octavers available for bass. It has two distinct octave voices a Growl which replicates the toothy synth tone of an OC2 and a Girth which is smooth and deep like an EBS octabass/octamizer. You can get subtle variations from mixing the two. It also has a switchable mid boost/cut on the clean tone which can be adjusted internally, very handy. Usual small MXR enclosure with fantastic build quality. Its in great condition and a beautiful deep blue sparkle. No box, but will be well packed. (Note- the A sticker will be removed and cleaned, ive a two channel setup and kept mixing them up 🤣) £85 posted to UK only
