  2. With that neck in 1995, a one off / custom order makes sense, especially with it being a broadneck 5 string.
  3. EMG's don't have an earth wire.
  4. I ran it through spectrum analyser! Fundamental notes were identical, but some harmonics peaks were missing with Joyo compared to cable. Plus it just sounded a bit ... emptier in the high-mids. But like I say, could've been how I was playing it. I also played some single notes and the spectrums were pretty much identical, to be fair.
  5. Maths is maths and improved horizonal dispersion is the effect of having a vertical array of single cones. You also get less beaming - you know when you walk in front of a cab and it gets louder and quieter in places - that's because sideways stacked cones are cancelling each other out. I'd go vertical for that reason as well as it being closer to your ears. Obviously if the PA is doing all the work then it doesn't matter as long as you can hear yourself.
  6. I try to nail the bass part in the very beginning. Then we (drs, b) can give the base to the others, as we are 11 in my main band. From that point of view it looks like I have not very much space, but actually more time to fix the tinier details (tempo and agogic changes, accents, colouring notes...). There's quite a lot of arranging within the band, and it is easier if the drummer and me can support arrangement work from the start. Besides many choices I do are subtle compared to winds (3) or singers (4) in the big picture. Not meaningless at all, but different.
  7. The headstock. Or, in the case of proper boutique basses, the unheadstock.
  8. Having bought a Kemper Profiler Player from this very forum a number of months ago and appreciating the compact footprint that has created a great live and IEM sound (much more successfully than the HX Stomp (which I found difficult to get to grips with) I am now selling my legendary studio and live Helix Rack with many features and sound profiles for us bass players. Never left my home studio and has had very little use as it offers far more options than a mere bass player desires/requires. Used primarily as the audio interface for my Logic Pro DAW and comes with all original packaging and cheat sheet to ensure quick start. Offering this for a quick sale cheaper than others I can find on Reverb/Ebay Software updated to current spec. Try out welcome or can ship at buyers expense. Some pics are stock and one from mine showing unit connected.

  10. Hi, thank you so much for coming and adding this to BC. It was an overwhelming day, the love for our humble brother brings tears to my eyes as I type...So many friends, family and musicians all together to celebrate his life 💚 Funds raised through the raffle and collection on the day stand at £12,515.05!!! Thank you!!! Nick's legacy will live on, enabling young musicians to thrive, special needs groups to access instruments and enable more LIVE Music 🎶 in our city. We couldn't have done it without everyone's support and Daz & Gav at Grainger Guitars 😇
  11. Here's a picture of a gentleman from China, knocking one out in his shed. I'm not sure what the esteemed and not-at-all AI generated luthier here is doing, but I'm sure it's boutique.
  12. On an Android, long press the number keys and it'll suggest fractions or superscript numbers.
  13. Say what?
  14. Hi Harlequin74, Yes it is, if would like to buy then pm me your details etc and we can sort 👍 Cheers Matt
  15. Apparently the term comes from French, meaning “small shop”. In the UK a small company has less than 50 employees and less than £10 mil turnover.
  16. Dropping the price to move this on, now £500.
  17. Final price drop, now £1600
  18. Seconded. It does seem an awfully long way to go to knock one out.
