We have started using River Studios, near Southampton, and ended up using their EBS Session 60. Looked tiny but was perfectly adequate for the size of the room.

Far be from me to persuade @SumOne to buy more gear and multiple keyboards... However, the idea of a simpler home piano, and a more capable stage piano, and a compact "workstation" keyboard, all doing different roles, would certainly appeal to me. In terms of what to buy first, the family can probably play the Nord at home, and you can take it to gigs too. However, the ES-60 (or similar) perhaps won't be robust enough for gigging, and may pick up knocks - not ideal for a piece of home furniture. So, perhaps keep the MPC Key 37, find a suitable secondhand Nord Electro 6 73, sell the CK-61, and finally buy a ES-60 at your leisure.

You can dislike something and acknowledge that it's good work I think, but there is an inherent polarisation of any subjective call these days, everything has to be black or white, the "you're either with us or against us" crowd, Liverpool v Everton, City V United... That footballification of everything leaves no room for nuance. Can't stand Country and Western, but those boys can play and write a tune, really don't like the Beatles, whilst recognising their significance as songwriters and the quality of McCartneys bass work (and Ringo's drumming for that matter), can't listen to most Jazz, or classical. The limitation is in me, not them, I fully admit. That said, Morrisey can do one, any day of the week, muppet. -
Super rare Iron Ether Super FrantaBit - basically two FranaBits in one box, with foot switches to flip flop between them both, as well as switch between Degrade and Obliterate mode. One of the most versatile and sought after Bit Crushers ever made. Grab this now, without the painfully long wait, shipping, and a massive VAT bill when it arrives in the UK! Selling this to buy a Hologram Microcosm (had one, massive regrets over selling it), but will consider the following trades/part-exs: Hologram Microcosm, Red Panda Tensor, Triungolo Barbanera. Iron Ether Polytope, Iron Ether Xerograph, Providence Anadime Bass Chorus, Ibanez Ashula SRAS7 (Dragon Eye Burl finish).

I can’t believe nobody hasn’t snapped this up at this price! It’s absurd. I’ve got one for sale myself and I’d never let it go at this price. If I had the spare cash I’d buy this! Either, folk haven’t used one of these or, everyone is being more than coy with their money. You will never really need another amp or effects, this covers it all. Absolutely baffling.

If you're still using an analogue desk, I would encourage you to buy one of these digital desks and wonder why you hadn't before. I cannot adequately describe the difference the XR18 has made to my band. The sound is so much clearer and the freedom it gives people, to manage their own monitor mix etc, is game changing. It has raised our (sonic) game exponentially.

Completely agree. Apart from anything to do with Morrissey and The Smiths. -

I don't have a problem with Wetherspoons as such, just with its owner... Similarly, when I saw the Smiths in 1985ish at Leeds Uni I couldn't get past Morrisey and his gladioli. But then what do I know, I like avant-jazz and occasional slap bass! -

There's always a nuance to this. A singer may, indeed, be a technically awful singer, but they perform material that is popular. There are performers whom I wouldn't want to see, but a bloke with a 40 year career is clearly doing something right. Even a poor technique needn't be a barrier to greatness or popularity. The folk who play instruments around their knees are displaying poor technique, but seem perfectly capable of becoming legends. It's all very subjective. After all, if it was down to sheer ability, I'd be a musical god, but somehow I'm not! 🙂 -

Apologies for taking you literally, but I can't disagree - Wetherspoons do a decent breakfast for the money and their beer is fairly prices. Also, I saw The Smiths live in 1986 ish at "The Tube" filming and while I really wanted them to be rubbish so I could wind up my friend who was a big fan, they were actually rather good. - Today

Morning! Everyone is entitled to their opinion, just some are more vocal about it than others., which is fine in itself as long as they don’t try to ‘ram it down my throat’ so to speak. Personally I’ve yet to find any type of P bass that remotely interested me but hey ho! I appreciate that they’re probably the most widely used bass ever! As regards Morissey well….🤣x
