Hi and welcome, quite a lot of the songs I learn there isn’t tab for, I always look first and if there is it gets me started although it sometimes isn’t correct, I tend to just learn by ear and breaking it down into sections, there is an app which I find useful called Looptube which lets you isolate sections and you can slow it down to make it easier, maybe give that a look

Here is a pretty much brand new Dingwall NG3 5 String. I've had this for 2 months, used it for 1 gig, and a couple studio session. Hands down the best 5 string bass I have ever player, but sadly not quite the right fit for me. The action is crazy low and yet the strings ring true and clear. Tone from this thing absolutely beastly. This has all the new upgrades Dingwall introduced this year: - Minimalist bridge - Smaller active/passive switch (for no snags and harder to knock by accident) - Neck binding - String bullets (individual string retainers) Finish is a gorgeous black with subtle sparkle. Matt finished knobs that seem to be rubberized, are super easy to grab mid gig and tweak away. I have all the original case and goodies, plus packaging so all good to get this shipped too - will be £35 to UK (contact me if needing shipped further afield and I can see what is possible). I am sure I will regret this - I was giddy after the one gig I played with it after the sense of ultimate low end power. But I know it will mostly sit in my studio unused for the various projects I am involved with. Feel free to get in touch with any questions.

Whoops I did it again! Another attempt at persuading myself that I needed and could play a 5 string! Another 4 string incoming means that this must be sacrificed. Played a few times at home and 2 or 3 rehearsals, where my lack of 5 string ability was somewhat embarrassing! It really is as new (I bought it from Peach about a year ago) , there's not a mark on it and comes complete with the gig bag and tools. Nice and lightweight and all working as it should. Strung recently with a set of light gauge Newtones Specs are here Prefer collection but happy to travel within an hour for a meetup - Essex, Suffolk, London, Herts etc. Would reluctantly post at your expense and insurance.

….. clearly you weren’t there in WHU ‘s first year then…..! Plenty of “frank discussions” over that very thing. PS Doobies at the O2 on Saturday night! V accomplished but the audio balance wasn’t right, at least where we were

Thinking of selling my custom built bass. Body is basswood from a Westfield, with the neck pocket re-routed to correct the scale length for a jazz neck. The neck is from. Harley Benton jazz bass, maple and rosewood. The plates are tort, hand made by myself. Pickups are the EMG Tom Araya set with an added TKO killswitch. I will also include a Ritter thunderbird gig bag. Open to offers! It's by no means factory finish but it plays and sounds great, it's just on the heavy side!

Some people don’t like tab, but I say anything that gets you playing is good in my eyes. I can’t talk for Brazilian music, but resources like Songster are pretty good. ChatGPT can also generate tab, too, but I don’t know how accurate it may be.

It's the old "if it seems too good to be true, it probably is". That's why it's always best to buy from forums or from actual shops. But their 'market' is people who don't know what they are looking at, I suppose.

Much loved sandberg California tm5. Original Sandberg soft case included. Plays perfectly, set up with sandberg round wounds including a tapered B string. I believe they are the 45 gauge set, just the right amount of tension in the B. Finish is not pristine, but this is the aged model so it’s not supposed to be really. There is a nice patina on the metalwork and some tasteful markings on the body. There’s certainly nothing that’s not in keeping with that character. There is dink in the neck and headstock that I don’t think came from the workshop however, and the pocket zip on the case doesn’t work anymore These are really great instruments and I would consider swapping for a vm4. I just don’t want to deal with 5 strings anymore. Price is £1200, looking for a quick sale IMG_0112.mov

I love that. Original and custom but not OTT. I'd have thought about that wrap myself but I just realised that of my 8 basses not a one has a pickguard!

The TV show ran from '58 to '61 and as a young teenager I loved it and as a beginner guitar player I also learned the theme but was disappointed about the way it sounded on my first cheap acoustic guitar, I had no idea how they got the sound. It was a very popular show over here and I suspect that the theme had a lot to do with that, instantly identifiable and an ear worm too. Interesting to see that Blake Edwards came up with the idea for the show and wrote many of the scripts, this helps explain the Edwards/Mancini connection for the theme music, The Pink Panther came out in '63. The graphics are indeed cool and the style looks familiar to those of us who were/are Pink Panther fans.😊

Hello everyone. After 18 years of break I started to play bass again 3 months ago motivated cause they asked to help a band in a church, the problem is I always played bass by myself without taking any class and I've been using tabs and I'm pretty good with them. Now with the songs I need to learn I can't find any tabs at all. Are all brasilian songs, pretty easy but there is no tabs. Is there a site where I can translate the songs from YouTube or wherever in tabs?

Sandberg 5 string, bought new from Bass Direct in October last year (2024). Used for theatre tour which has now ended. Now I can switch back to playing 4 string! The bass was well looked after and travelled in a hard case in the car so wasn't chucked around by road crew. Plays lovely and received many compliments on it's tone. Reliced look but no dings from me. Neck is in great shape and super smooth, see pics... Looking for sale not trades. Feel free to visit me in Wolverhampton, I can drive to meet within an hour or can pack well if courier needs to be arranged. Spec in pictures.
