As the successor to the Tecamp Puma 900, the Eich T900 would get my vote.
-
All of my 5s are 34" scale length and they seem fine.

I use a rubber handled screwdriver from the back...

They went flying off the shelves when they first came out and not everyone will get on with 5 strings and/or headlesses. Or they may find the neck profile not entirely to their liking, or the sound.

Anyone used a dB Technologies B-Hype 8 for bass practice?
dave_bass5 posted a topic in Amps and Cabs
Im currently in a band that rehearse in the singers living room. We have a drum kit (thats has dampening pads) and the two guitars use smallish amps but we dont play too loud I go through an old Peavey 150watt 1x15 combo, but it's kept in the adjacent room, with plants on top lol. Im loath to turn it up as it's in a glass conservatory so the neighbours will get annoyed. I can hear it ok most of the time. Singer won't let me move it before you mention it. The issue I have is before it's a room away, there is a lack of definition by the time it gets to my ears. I can use EQ, but that still wouldn't fix the glass room and reflections issue. Anyway, im thinking of getting the above speaker that I can use in the same room as the band. Play quieter, get heard with a bit less bloom. I was looking at things like the Joyo 30watt but this seems more practical. Just wondered if anyone has any thoughts. I will never need to gig it or use it in a larger rehearsal room, I have other things for that, but this seems small and cheap enough that I'll just leave it at the singers house. -

Its standard in metal to tune lower than standard. Its the only way to get a really heavy sound. Tuning down to from E to C is pretty common. I played in a couple bands that tuned down to A#. My current band is in standard and it's too high to get really doomy. -
It isn't too clear as the website seems to say contradictory things. I would generally think 'EQ bypass switch' means the battery powered preamp for volume is still on but the EQ section is bypassed (not ideal if you want a backup for a dead battery, or if you prefer a passive tone, or want to keep a cable plugged in without battery loss), but then it also says "The master tone control operates in both active and passive mode." So that suggests there is a passive/active switch. https://www.ibanez.com/eu/news/detail/20250930143736.html

Based on German Warwicks (I have two) and EBMM SR5's (I've had a few) I really wouldn't pay too much attention to the scale length. I tried a Lakland Skyline 55-02 in Guitar Guitar recently and the B string on that example sounded awful to my ear. There are good and bad B strings in every scale length. I personally believe it's for mainly for marketing purposes.

Yep, I've tried that position but just couldn't get on with it personally. Still, for anyone else they should give it a go. Might work for them 🤔 -

A five string Skyline 55-01 or 55-02 were always top of my list and more recently a G+L Tribute 2500 but that desire belongs to another earlier Post I put here on BC. For now it's finding a cheaper 5 to keep me going. -

I had a brainwave on how to remove those awkward furrell's without damaging the face side of your precious Bass Head. Insert a tapered dowel into face side of furell, rotate, and remove with furrell attached, it works a treat

Selling this lovely bass amp as i have been of the IEM fraternity for 5 years now and this is just going to waste. The original TTE 500 with the class A/B output as opposed to the class D of the TTE 501. Can go from from squeaky clean to old school valve amp warmth. Built in compressor that's surprisingly musical...pretty sure there's a valve dedicated purely to the compressor. Best to check the facts and figures from Markbass Used this with a couple of different cabs and I found heft of the sound and the sheer volume of this thing to be completely at odds with the 6kg weight. Naturally this was especially loud when paired with the Barefaced cab that I also have for sale. The picture of the two together is to show how well they fit should anyone be interested in both...the cab is not part of this sale The top is an open grille and your beer will spill in there if you place it on there, so please don't place it on there...after all, the drummer doesn't keep a pint on the floor tom. When I bought this used circa 2018 the two little bars on the front seemed to be on a wonk and haven't moved a bit since then. It seems to be a recurring theme for these amps but it never bothered me as it's only really noticeable if you inspect closely. As with the Barefaced cab, After 2021 this has had minimal use and has largely been powered up once a year to check all is still good. This was played through and turned up last night and all is still sounding fab. Comes with original carry bag, kettle lead and a couple of speakon cables. Collection with a cup of tea preferred from Warboys, Cambs PE28 but can post for £14 or possibly meet

Thank you very much for your reply. Your comments are very interesting. especially as you've been lucky enough to try a Space. There are a lot of 'em for sale - new and used and the secondhand prices are slowly coming down. This is a little worrying. Has the market become flooded with them or is there another reason there are so many for sale less than a year old. Personally, I think Cort haven't done themselves many favours by producing the bass in just two colours. And me? I'm also a sucker for a gloss finish or a natural wood - especially spalted - I prefer a maple fretboard too. -
Thanks for the links - this extracted owner bit from a 2009 post helps a lot - cheers "Hello Everyone - Here is a shot of my Fender Thinline Bass. This one is from 2003. It was indeed a legit not-for-export model. The person I bought it from told me it did not sell well in Japan as they are more interested in classic styles and colors. Hence it's short run. The bass is a kind of a hybrid. Modern bridge, reverse-tuners, old-style P-bass neck (thinner at nut) and Telecaster style body. It has a woody tone and its quite loud unplugged. Sustains forever. Plugged in the tone is big and round with plenty of mids and highs as well. The only negative is that it is quite neck heavy. While sitting down you better hold on! The model number is TNB-110SPL (Thin Line Bass, 110,000 Yen, Special). They also made it in blue burst. This one is a Q serial number. Since One US Dollar is worth about 95 Yen today, the bass would list today in US Dollars at $1179. It came with the Standard Fender Japan gig bag. By the time you paid shipping (about $125) and got a legit case this wasn't cheap but worth every penny. It is an outstanding instrument, beautiful to look at and a pleasure to play. I have tried flatwounds and roundwounds on it and prefer the rounds."

Hi - No, saw it on ebay and was then directed by the seller to his Reverb listing where I got a bit of a reduction. I did list it myself back on Reverb some months ago and it was the only one for sale on Reverb... possibly worldwide!... but now have it as a keeper, hence trying to find out a bit more.

Playing punk with a pick - or any fast/hard music it’s a good technique to mute the E string. I only have small hands but I do it sometimes, works really well when you need it.
