Selling this lovely bass with a heavy heart. Gigged a couple of times but mostly used for Studio work. As much as I want to keep it, I need to sell this beauty as we are expecting our baby#2 and I just paid for my ILR Visa so needing to recoup some funds and will stick with budget bass for now. Bought new from BassDirect this June. No mods, only thing I changed are the strings to La Bella Low Tension Flats. Bass weighs at 3.9kgs. I sold the original gig bag thinking I would never sell it but life happens so yeah. For collection only at SW19 area so please bring your own Gig bag/case. Willing to sell it with the Mono Vertigo for an additional £150 if needed. Collection only at SW19 or can meet somewhere in London on schedule. Any questions, feel free to message me.

What are you listening to right now?
Raskolnikov replied to Sarah5string's topic in General Discussion
I just discovered _Peter Gabriel 3_ (1980). Also listening to _So_ (1986). Lovely bass tones on both records. Standouts, “I Don’t Remember,” “Games Without Frontiers,” “Not One of Us,” & “In Your Eyes,” which you’ve all heard. I love that 80’s bass tone. Kumalo the pinnacle on Paul Simon’s _Graceland_, and of course Taylor on Duran Duran _Rio_. -
Nordskov started following Fender HiMass brigde minimum string height

I have a MIM Fender Jazz with a defective bridge and I need a replacement. Ive read about the sonic difference between low mass and high mass and I am not concerned. I stripped the frets to make it fretless so my string height is around 11-12 mm from body to underside of the strings. Will the Fender HiMass bridge go that low?

Phil Appreciate the comments and I am absolutely not trying to make waves or cause a fuss, my questions are due to me being a complete novice/muppet/idiot* here. I will probably experiment as you say. I wouldn't think that 3d printed braces would help as the plastic would be lighter than the wood, also I can't print something 364mm high on my printer. However I could join two pieces together and try that. Perhaps that's an idea, so I've not actually even started and I'm already making changes and thinking about mods, why do I do this to myself? I'm fool/muppet/idiot* Thanks Rob * Delete where applicable

Sounds good Matt - mine are stacked horizontally at the min which as a pain if you want something half way down the pile

Overwater Original Series 'Filter Based Preamps'
bloke_zero replied to W1_Pro's topic in Bass Guitars
Alembic and Wal are the names that comes to mind with filter preamps. I got one from Luisitand - this one: https://www.bassdirect.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2023/11/NFP-Preamp.pdf - I like it but I haven't used it much in anger. Good long battery life with it though as it uses modern components. I don't know the Overwater versions - interesting! -
Anyone moaning about what eBay fees should have a look at what a standard auction house charges buyers and sellers. I've recently been looking at vintage furniture from my local auction house, who add between 27% and 30.3% to the hammer price depending on whether you are bidding in person or on-line (as well as VAT on some items) and then deduct 15% from the hammer price plus an additional £2.25 for an internet listing (AFAICS you can't not have an internet listing). That means for an item that has a hammer price of £100, the buyer pays £127 if they attend the sale in person, and the seller gets £82.75. The auction house makes about 45% per listing sold. The photos for the on-line auctions are generally one per item which has been taken at an angle to show it in the best possible way. When you attend the viewing many of the furniture items are significantly damaged in the parts that can't be seen the photograph. There are also no weights or measurements given in the on-line listing, and the only way to work out if a piece is suitable for you needs to go and look at anything you are interested in person.

Do you mean the EBS UniChorus? I can't reference to an EBS Multi Chorus. If so, the manual says it has an internal mix trim pot. This might help reduce the volume jump, but it will obviously also make the chorus effect less obvious. If you like the sound of this pedal then the only workable solution I can think of is to put it in the loop of a Boss LS-2 (or something similar). This way, you can leave the chorus permanently engaged and use the LS-2 to enable it and control its volume. If you're not married to it, then yes, a different chorus pedal may be required.

Linus27 started following LFSYs Monaco - how good?

As a huge F1 fan for the last 45 years, I think having a cab named Spa is a given. Monaco is my favourite F1 circuit and where my honeymoon was. I proposed to my wife on the grid at the Monza F1 in 2006. I've driven Spa about 6 times and Silverstone a few times so my vote goes to Spa. I think if you look at other classic F1 circuits then Adelaide and Melbourne would make good names but my favourite would be Suzuka. You also can't really ignore Imola and the Senna/Ratzenberger connection. LYSYS Suzuka, LYSYS Imola and LYSYS Adelaide have nice rings about them
