  2. I recently bought a 425x. I like it very much. I enjoy playing it and I enjoy the sound. Whilst I was trying to track one down I occasionally came across a 1025x for sale (and even a 2025x) and pondered over the price difference. Sure I Googled the videos - as you do - watched the reviews and read up on the specs too, but wondered if any members out there have actually played (or even own) both the 425x and also the 1025x. I'm curious because I've considered whether it's worth buying a 1025x but of course only if the upgrades on the 1025x are really superior to the 425x so justify the hike in price? Please not interested in the material or manufacturing upgrades - only the sound (i.e. is the 1025x more powerful, more versatile, better quality, etc) My apologies if someone else has asked this question before so the topic has already been covered?🤔 Many thanks
  3. I've just bought a new Cort GB Modern 4, which is probably the best bass I've played and I love it. I have this cheap wireless system https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07QJYL6VH?ref_=ppx_hzsearch_conn_dt_b_fed_asin_title_1&th=1 which worked fine with my Cort B4 Element, but doesn't work at all with the new GB4 Modern. They both have active pickups, albeit MK1 Barts on the Element but Nordy Big Singles on the GB4, but I'm wondering if this might be the issue. As anyone experienced any similar issues, and if so is there a fix? TIA

  7. So it was all going so swimmingly, I’d done the black grain filler and sanded back, the first coat of oil was on and it looked like this I left it hanging to dry……I popped back after doing something else to check for bleed back and the drop top had liftedand slightly separated from the neck pocket along the joint to the bridge pickup, just slightly. I had the heater on in the garage and I think this has caused the wood to move. To say there was some expletives is somewhat of an understatement! I have put some titebond into the lifted bits and clamped back down again. I will see what it is like tomorrow and then make a decision as to what to do next. Hopefully it will has reattached and I can just sand back etc. if not I am going to router out the joint and put a black resin channel in. This bass making malarkey is full of trials and tribulations but a valuable lesson learned.
  8. Great cabs, pretty rare now, and if memory serves, these are the narrower depth, so they sit on top of most of the combos of the time. GLWTS.

  11. This is one of those bits of kit that I have no current need for, but it’s a great price and I’m struggling to resist grabbing it for a rainy day!
  12. Ponders @Owen's view on south of Brum being more accessible.... Also ponders the concept of @Stub Mandrel and the Glamorgan Massive...
  13. May I make a plea for a south of Brum venue as many Welsh basschatters would join in.

  20. I'm very lucky . I didn't have to drive and the band leaders helped move my gear. Daryl
  21. Reduced to £250. Bargain for a gorgeous lovely sounding active jazz.
  22. Both gigs were good with nice responsiveness crowds. The Ziegler Winery gig was moved inside due to the rain. The,Cedarburg Wine & Harvest Fest was another win for us. The stage and sound was very good. Daryl
  23. Not long got back. Played a local venue for the second sunday in a row, this time with the Fortunate Sons. Unexpected gorgeous sunny day meant a packed audience and plenty of dancing. Again played best part of 2 hours and 35 songs(!) We were much tighter than our previous gig. I'm getting more comfortable on bvs, so joining in on more songs. The singer caught me out by shoving his mic in my face during Moni Moni... Went for a sunday lunch with my partner beforehand. A pint of coke, pint of Guinness and a bottle of becks zero on top, with two hours of bouncing around and I have a fine stomach ache. Lots of people I know there which was nice. I loaded in from the front. The other guys were less lucky. The route to the back is like a scene from the evil dead...
