  3. Right….here is a fantastic representation of ‘Fender’ Jazz style bass. The construction is highly regarded in the ‘jazz copies’ world. Being more of a 5 sting player, I put it together with great upgrades for an upcoming project but the video guys preferred a solid colour vintage looking bass, which I now own and upgraded (‘ing’….nearly finished). This fantastic bass now plays and sounds far superior than the price (and brand) suggests, but owes me £500 +……nearest to that would make me happy (collected preferably but can post if buyer covers p&p). (Willing to drop off if within a reasonable distance or en route somewhere). I can try to recover the cost by stripping it back to original and selling bass and parts separately but that would be a shame as it went remarkably well so I’m going to try to sell it as is…. In great condition with no obvious or major damage etc…I hope the pics do it justice and I will list the mods done. Feel free to question me but take my word…you will not be disappointed with this superb instrument. KSD bass £250, East J-Retro deluxe preamp £100, EMG’s £100, Badass 2 bridge £45, Brass nut £10, Tuners £45, Ernie Ball strings £25. I’ll describe the sound as fat and snappy. My favourite combination of East and EMG wins again. The feel is fast with a flatter radius than Fender stuff so really comfortable and easy on the ‘bends’. What do we think lads?🤞🏽

  4. The Sovereign Pro 8-225 is the version of the 8-225 used in the Basschat 8" cabinet. It is a bit heavier than the non-pro version. It also has a flatter response. Ideal for use in the 8" cab if you need less treble. It has never been used, except to try it in an existing cabinet. Unfortunately, it did not fit. Will be sent in the original packing. You can compare the two speakers HERE.
  5. This is a Fane Sovereign Pro 8-225. The cast aluminium version of the Fane Sovereign 8-225 used in the Easy 8" Cab Build Thread. It is slightly heavier and has a flatter response than the non-pro version. I bought this to fit into an old 8" PA cabinet, but it was a little too deep. It has had virtually no use. The foam was use when I was trying to fit the driver into my old cabinet. I will include a new strip of foam. The original 8-225 was selected, as its upper response makes up for the lack of a tweeter. However, if you prefer a flatter softer sound, this is the driver for you. Pro 8-225 Datasheet

  6. That custom shop was cool - one of a run done for Sting so he could retire his originals by all accounts… Sold at the time because it didn’t suit my band or something mundane… it’d really work now. Meh. Life…

  8. Never quite understood why - as the commercial profits do - sticking a jazz bridge pickup on a precision makes it a PJ. It's just a modded Precision. Anyway - mine isn't. Just finished this. It's a Frankenstein based around a Squier PJ body and a new Fender 70s Jazz neck. I found some SDQPs on eBay. Got a Hi mass with some Amazon vouchers I had given and for the princely sum of £3.54 got a vintage pearloid pick guard off Temu ! Every hole lines up perfectly. I shielded the inside with slug tape from the garden centre and rewired it so it's vol/blend/tone. It's far more the love child of a Precision and a Jazz than most. Not a great pic but it does have Milly in it !
  9. Beautiful work, the way the graphic follows the shape of the body is lovely.
  10. Raising cash so up for sale is IMHO one of the finest tracking octavers available for bass (and i cant bring muself to sell my OC2) It has two distinct octave voices a Growl which replicates the toothy synth tone of an OC2 and a Girth which is smooth and deep like an EBS octabass/octamizer. You can get subtle variations from mixing the two. It also has a switchable mid boost/cut on the clean tone which can be adjusted internally, very handy. Usual small MXR enclosure with fantastic build quality. Its in great condition and a beautiful deep blue sparkle. No box, but will be well packed. This does Not have the noise issues associayed with the early versions) (Note- the A sticker will be removed and cleaned, ive a two channel setup and kept mixing them up 🤣) £80 incl UK only delivery
  11. Update time - Four of the batch 1 necks should be finished next week with the other one available next week. Thanks again for your patience.
  12. Fantastic Chorus/Flanger so effectively two pedals in one. Fully Analog utilising bucket brigade technology for warm vintage Chorus tones. Also feature a 2 band EQ so you can go from warm lush to shimmering modern sounds. It also has a switchable crossover so the effect can be applied only to the high frequencies (like the old Boss Bass chorus) leaving the bottom end nice and clean (a subtle but lovely sound) or a full range chorus sound for extra thickness. A button activates the Flanger mode which is my favourite, totally gives you that wide spacey Anthony Jackson tone. Definately a favourite pedal, but I do use Phaser a lot more. It's also a very cool Aqua colour, what's not to love. Its in reasonable condition, with a few chips in the finish, Im not sure if i have the original box,but will be very well packed. £95 incl Uk only delivery
  13. Hubba, hubba 🤤
  14. Im about to move into a new flat and basically need everything 🤣 so a few odds and ends will find their way up for sale. This is a fantastic pedal, a licensed version of the vaunted Bugbrand bugcrusher which is very expensive. Its a sample rate reducer with clean blend and one of the most musical ive ever tried. It took me ages to find one used, but i lterally use it on two tunes with a band that rarely gigs, so up it goes. Its in fantastic condition with a lovely sparkly silver finish, its got velcro on the bottom, no box unfortunately. £95 incl UK only delivery
  15. I'm not so sure about that. It is kinda like 'Need Your Love So Bad' (for example), but not quite. You would need to finesse it a bit from the way the OP describes to get it to work (of course, that might be what he means, but didn't quite express it correctly / how I understood it).
  16. Any decent keyboardist would probably spot it anyway, guitarist not so much
  17. I think it depends on exactly what you mean. I've just tried to play through what your suggesting and I'm not entirely convinced. I'm sure that if you are playing as a three piece with the guitarist playing a solo, then you could probably make it work. If you have a keys player or another guitar player, then you would most likely need to tip them the wink on what you are intending to do, to ensure that they can follow.
  18. Up for sale is this Active Westone Thunder 1A Fresless Bass Guitar. Rare vintage instrument! Made in Japan Comes with a hardcase Collection only! No trades unfortunately...
  19. This is like the Swiss army knife of basses, has best of both the Fender and Musicman world. I Remember once trying it in the 90s and said I must have one some day. Honestly, I don't even know what all the buttons do Unfortunately It has to go with some other kit because it's not getting used enough...
  20. A rare premium Ibanez sound gear 6 string bass guitar. Made in Indonesia. If you are looking at this, you know how good they are! this one comes with the original hardcase, a strap and the manual. I tried to take enough photos to show some bumps but the neck is perfect and playability is superb. Strung with flatwounds so no need to ever change them! Reason for selling is only because 4 strings is more than enough for me and I am doing a clear out! Collection only! No trades unfortunately...
  21. The reason I signed up to Basschat in the first place, was to enquire over the value of a cab that I did eventually buy! Initially, that was the whole point of BC for me, as it is to many members to this day!
  22. We don’t always talk about that 🤷‍♂️🧐 theres also tonewood, what’s good for metal, are Mex fenders as good as US models, are guitards really as stupid as they seem (for not choosing bass)? the rich tapestry of viable topics in this venerable pantheon of knowledge runs to at least five or so
  23. I have two Sabre Classic pickguards for sale. These are for the 2013-2016 reissues. Not sure whether they will fit a pre EB or 80's EB Sabre. Blue abalone, ordered from Armstrong guitars. I think this was on the cusp of them stopping using WD as there was a delay in getting it when they switched supplier Blue mirror is from Pickguards.com/WD Both have a bit of playwear but perfectly usable £35 the pair + postage

  24. Yes, the WD-800 will fit, but because it's 2" less deep you may need to fabricate some hardware. The width and height are identical and they share the same rack ears as well (the current WD rack kit mounting holes are slightly smaller than the old Walkabout, but can easily modified to work with either the WA or WD). The specific caution is because the WD is a lot more powerful than the original WA, I would recommend ONLY using it with the 8 ohm version of the cabinet, and set the amp to 2 ohm mode to scale down the power to 300 watts into 8 ohms (still more than the cabinet can handle but with the HPF set to about 40-50Hz, and the damping set to high, you should be ok).
