  1. Past hour
  2. Well you know me, it’s tubes or nothing for an amp! Bet that sounds mighty dude
  3. I guess people either love, or don't love, big tube amps mate! I'm playing this through two Mesa cabs now.... ...and man it rocks 👍
  4. Glad it's all working out, Mick. Seems that promoter you mentioned was holding onto the wrong opinions
  5. Another Everly's and Friends Live Tribute Show yesterday. This time in Torquay, Devon. On the first weekend after the schools closed for the Summer holidays. You know what's coming... Yep, it took me ten hours to get there from Derbyshire. Every motorway, every junction, every roundabout was a massive traffic queue. Grrr! SDo finally got to the Babbacombe Theatre, did the gig and then cruised home in 3.5 hours. Better. Friday was a looong day. Wiped out today (Saturday.) Broken. Oh, and I almost forgot, our Duo was out last weekend for the second time. Played outside and the PA sounded awesome. Used my Melvin Lee Davis NU-X for the first time, too. 6. Overhang! aaaarrrrrrgggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! (Nice one)
  7. Well done for persevering! I think I would have lost my head in a blind rage over a no show! I get mardy enough with other members turning up late without a good excuse/doctors note/hand written letter from mum saying they've got the shits
  8. At a glance, maybe neck, tuners, front pickup, bell plate, bridge and guard look ok. In my opinion, if the body was right, it’s still worth £3-4k but without any confidence re the body, it would feel like a leap of faith to pay much over £2k including fees. Its a shame you have to buy it first, to be able to strip the body and check the various tells that would demonstrate it was original, under the “refinished before these basses were worth faking” paint. The router hump appears to be there, so if it plays ok, it might be worth a punt, but without two original pickups, I would walk away.
  9. 2 pints before the gig, you'll be fine
  10. Yes it is.
  11. pritty good, loads of info on youtube brand new still in the box, never used. £60 on amazon post is £5 firstclass royal mail only.

  12. …The Ibanez GSR 180 is a great and lightweight guitar, I just had a little noodle on it and its lovely to play…. no, may still need the tar and feathers, plus a stout tree GLWTS 👍
  13. The MXR MC403 CAE Power System, developed in collaboration with Bob Bradshaw, is engineered to deliver clean, silent, and reliable power to nearly every effect pedal on the market. Designed by some of the top engineers in musical electronics, this power supply is built to handle the toughest pedalboard setups with ease. With eight 9-volt DC outlets, four 18-volt DC outlets, two adjustable DC voltage outlets, and two 9-volt AC outlets, the MC403 provides more than enough power for even the most demanding rigs. Whether you're gigging or recording, this power system ensures your pedals perform at their best, without the worry of noise or power issues. MXR MC403 CAE Power System Features: Pedalboard power supply built for the rigors of the gigging musician 8 x 9-volt DC power outlets for standard pedal designs 4 x 18-volt DC power outlets for higher-demand pedals 2 adjustable DC voltage outlets for fine-tuning performance 2 x 9-volt AC power outlets for added versatility All multi-tap DC outputs are completely isolated, linear regulated, and short-circuit protected to insure reliable operation Enclosed in a heavy-duty housing. Rarely used but I did house it under a pedalboard and I've misplaced the screws that weren't required (doesn't affect anything). What you see in the pics is what you get in full working order (+ mains cable).
  14. You called the Ibanez a guitar above … Ibanez are perfectly respectable! Why are you insulting them in this way ? 😳
  15. Today
  16. Over the last few gigs I felt like I was bringing too much stuff and causing myself tap dancing problems, unwanted activation and cancellation of effects due to big feet Vs cramped board. Decided to downsize and condense from a very crowded temple audio duo 17 to a much more considered rock board 2.1!
  17. Brand new unopened. Bought when I was going to experiment with different strings but settled on other brand. Paid £27.99
  18. Similar to this. If you can write the parts out like a left and right hand piano line you will see visually where they meet rhythmically. Then you start to think of it as one part rather than two in parallel.
  19. Brand new unopened. Bought when I was going to experiment with different strings but settled on another brand. Paid £34.99
  20. Works perfectly with no issues and bought as an upgrade to my Tech 21 pedal on the route to going full IEM. Comes with instruction book and power supply. 2-channel bass pre for 1 or 2 basses Built-in direct box with XLR output Combination power boost and effects loop Powerful EQ and contour controls Separate always-on tuner output
  21. Baby Blue (Tac) — Badfinger
  22. Had a good rehearsal last night. Pirate Studios are pretty good and the air con and back line all worked fine. The Rumble 500 was really sounding great- cheap feeling controls but really serves up the sonic goods! The guitarist and main songwriter tried out a couple of new numbers and one if them defo has potential. I’m not sure about the other, too similar to some of his other ones but good to work on. The Dingwall is just absolutely bloody epic. I’m growing to love it more and more each time I play it. For the first time I’m really starting to explore creative potential of tone shaping on a bass. This Neve unit is so musical- boosting the low end a couple of notches when using the Bridge pickup on its own makes the thing really usable and even whacking the Bass up full is still musical! Bonkers but the other guys LOVED 100% bass! It was hard telling them I’m stepping away when my evening classes start in late September but hopefully we’ll get a couple of gigs in by then. Getting home was a total nightmare. I was planning to get the overground back from Camden but signaling problem s meant I ended up walking all the way home from London Bridge which took an hour. Got in at 1am and had to do a 10k race this morning!!!! very tired now
  23. My go to DI pedal for a lot of years but I'm now using IEM and using an alternative dedicated pedal. No damage, no issues, just a bit of velcro attached to the base. Much more than just a direct box, the SansAmp Bass Driver DI is capable of dialing up big vintage tube tones, bright modern slap sounds, gnarly distortions, and all in between. Three different outputs to drive power amps, recording desks, PA mixers, or simply enhance your current rig. Controls include Presence for definition and upper harmonic content; Blend to combine the proportion of direct signal and SansAmp circuitry; and active EQ specifically tuned for bass with 12dB of cut or boost. THE CONTROLS The controls offer a broad range of traditional bass amp sounds, including such meaty styles as Bassman® and SVT®, as well as raunchy, crunchy overdriven sounds that would typically require a multitude of effects units. PRESENCE controls the amount of definition and upper harmonic content. DRIVE adjusts the overall gain structure and overdrive. LEVEL regulates the XLR and effected 1/4″ output levels. BLEND allows you to mix the direct bass signal with SansAmp Tube Amplifier Emulation circuitry (which is particularly useful for basses equipped with piezo pickups). BASS & TREBLE are active EQ controls, specifically tuned for bass guitar, that cut or boost +/- 12dB. For studio and live applications, SansAmp Bass Driver DI is engineered with three outputs: an effected XLR, and effected 1/4″, and a parallel, uneffected 1/4″. The footswitch activates the Tube Amplifier Emulation circuitry. Disengaging the circuitry enables you to use SansAmp Bass Driver DI as a standard active transparent direct box. Sample style settings include Bassman®, SVT®, King’s X, Slap, Reggae, Crimson. Settings are also included for Chapman Stick and Acoustic guitar.
