  2. Yes I will be selling the whole board. Listings to follow!
  3. As they have round cores I would say there's a bit mellower than the D'Ads. Watch this video, from 1:56 to 2:42 and then again from 6:49 to 7:35, which might help.
  4. I pulled this as the new price has dropped below £500 now. However, on reflection I think £600 for the amp in mint condition, plus the bluetooth adapter, footswitch and carry bag is still a good deal, so it's back up again.
  5. Looks wonderful - if I could justify bringing in another steed and didn't have a tot on the way I'd be driving over... All the best with the sale and sorry about the rubbish circumstances for you! Tobie
  6. Vintage Bose 802 Series II XLR speaker cable wired to Speakon NL4FX at the amp. I'm going XLR pin 2 (+ve) to Speakon +1 and XLR pin 1 (-ve) to Speakon -1 right? Shouldn't be using +2 and -2 at all.
  7. OP is an edge case. He runs IEM sometimes, but doesn't own a preamp or a DI except for what is aboard the Rumble combo. When going IEM he has no use of the combo speaker, it's so much unwanted noise, but he can't run zero volume without also cutting the DI output to zero. Capiche?
  8. I think I remember that tune, was it the April 2017 comp?
  9. Enjoy - it always went down well when we did it in one of my old bands! 😎👍
  10. Hot In The City - Billy Idol
  11. Great keyboard, recently replaced the pitch wheel as it had started to drift. Perfect now though. All in great working condition. Collection from High Wycombe or meet up preferred, but I can look in to postage if needed.

  13. Does this model have the same weird tone control setup that the Canadian Super P has? I had to replace the circuit on mine as I couldn't get on with it.

  15. Version 1 is affected by the gain only but the newer versions are affected by both
  16. Not quite, unless I read it wrong...
  17. My Peavey 1995 Foundation Fretless. Fantastic sound. Bought to remind myself why I don't play fretless and now for sale 🙂 It's not that I can't play it, it's that it just doesn't suit my style of playing
  18. Mercury Rising - Sting
  19. Two from Queen spring to my mind … The Invisible Man and Dragon Attack Two from Def Leppard … Man Enough and Rock On The first is an original, the second is not. It's a cover of a David Essex song. Mark
  20. Isn't that what I said?? Sine peak volts X to -X Square X/X Power twice as much for the square. Sometimes I feel I am losing my mind.
  21. Almost. The power of a square wave is equal to the RMS power of a sine wave and 1/2 the power (.707 x the voltage) of the peak power of a sine wave. Peak power is defined for a sine wave at 2x the RMS power, and when Trace advertised 500 watts peak power, that's exactly the same as 250 watts RMS. It has nothing to do with burst power (which has an entirely different definition and applied primarily to broad band signals). Power RMS is equivalent to the area under the voltage curve x the current curve, and when integrated over time becomes energy.
  22. Yes, for the most part that is incorrect. There may be a trivial difference at very low frequencies due to filter cap time recharge constants, but it will be less than 1/2dB at 30Hz on a properly designed amp and often much better. Note that meters can be inaccurate at very low frequencies, which why special meters are used for broad band audio measurements.

  24. Over the years I’ve managed to find some interesting stuff , and after making the purchase will often continue looking … just to see how prices might be changing. Just to convince myself I might have found a deal. When I picked up an Epi Flying V bass I did not realize that they had been fairly small runs. I did realize my set neck Ric 4000 was fairly rare. I spent some years trying to hunt down a Yamaha Flying Samurai , and then wound up finding a second one I couldn’t pass on. I wasn’t surprised when Gibson stopped producing those lovely little DC Jr basses , they’re wonderful little things. (I have heard rumours that they might be soon doing another batch). I did find a Unicorn on our local kijiji. Last year I went looking for a Gretsch 5123B hollow body. Managed to instantly find one near Boston , the exchange and duty were brutal. I’ve only seen a couple come up since. That made me want a 6128B Thunderjet. No longer in production , and not common. Found one in Kentucky , and once more brutalized by the exchange , duty and shipping. I’ve only seen one come up for sale since. I still look at TB Classifieds , but I’m not jumping into anything in the US these days.
  25. In the days before Speakon, I used to make my own speaker leads using (orange) twin-core 13A mains cable. I used high quality metal body jacks with internal plastic insulation over the tip connection and I fitted heat shrink over the metal body and strain relief to minimise the risk of any shorts.
