    I’m back using Ultex Triangles 1.0mm I love the brightness they achieve which can be toned down when required but allowed to clank out for rocky / punky songs Green Day etc etc

    The Noble is a different beast. Not a 6SL7 tube like the B15 and won’t overdrive without something else pushing the front end. A closer comparison would be the SushiBox Grand Slampegg which uses the same tube and tone stack as the B15 (but again won’t overdrive by itself).

    They've got 3 years of sales figures to analyse on the other 2 bassrigs so it's clearly working for them. If they are selling all they can produce then there is no need for them to drop the price. Doesn't mean I have the means to just go out and buy one though, but I can't buy a fancy watch either. I'm looking forward to someone doing a good comparison with the Noble DI. The Noble is more than double the price and if there is a non-valve competitor that sounds as good in a mix then Noble sales might suffer. I wonder whether the 2 previous bassrigs will get a "Cab Off" Mk2 in the near future.

    I always play sitting down (OMs only) so weight isn’t a major issue. It’s not light but I’m sure I’d be okay for a standup gig with it. I like the tight spacing and prefer its passive sounds to active. Since it has separated tone controls I have two sounds on tap just by switching between active and passive. Thats all I need

    In latter years he tuned a 4 string bass BEAD, but all the classic recordings were on a normal 4 string tuned EADG.

    I’ve got a Sire V7 5. At 10.2 lb it’s on the limit for me but otherwise it’s absolutely first class in all respects. Just bought a Z3 and I’m blown away by it. Stunning
