Remember every person in the venue wants you to do well…! I don’t really get nerves anymore because over time you realise that confidence is a veneer. Enjoy every minute and play the best you can and you’ll be fine.

I used to do similar in my last band - either D for a dead stop or R for a ringing out ending. When questioned about it by a punter I said it was the key to the songs, “Cor you lot are really professional” was the response. To 5 songs in D and 5 in R 😂

QSC CP12 Active PA Speaker 1000 Watts This speaker is as new and has not been used since purchase. It comes with additional QSC waterproof cover for outdoor use. Very powerful speakers however I’m downsizing and selling my larger portable PA gear. Street price is £579 cheapest I can find so this is a good saving. The covers cost an extra £67. The user manual is included. I have two of these for sale. I can knock off £40 if you buy the pair. Pickup definitely preferred but talk to me if this is impossible. UK only. Postage would be at buyer’s cost and I’d need to source packaging as the boxes have been recycled. These speakers get glowing reviews in Sound on Sound magazine - https://www.soundonsound.com/reviews/qsc-cp-series I own a pair of QSC CP8s which are perfectly fine for keyboard monitoring and rehearsal PA so these aren’t needed now for personal use. Specifications from QSC below - Features Class-D amplifier with 1000W peak power output Selectable contours (presets) for quick setup Advanced DSP with Intrinsic Correction™ Superior sound quality and speaker protection Directivity Matched Transition™ (DMT) ensures uniform coverage across the entire sound field Suitable for use as a main PA, stage monitor or instrument amplifier 35mm pole mount socket Lightweight and incredibly portable Specifications Configuration: Two-Way Active Low Frequency Driver: 12'' Cone Woofer High Frequency Driver: 1.4'' Compression Frequency Response: 49Hz - 20kHz, -6dB 47Hz - 20kHz, -10dB Sound Pressure Level: 126dB (Maximum) Nominal Coverage: 75° Axisymetric Amplifier Type: Class-D Amplifier Power: 1000W (Peak) Input Connectors: 2 x XLR/TRS Combo (Line and Mic/Line) 1 x 3.5mm TRS Stereo Output Connector: 1 x XLR (Mix) Controls: Power 2 x Gain Mic Boost Push Switch 6-Way Contour Selection Switch Indicators: Power LED 2 x Input Signal LEDs Input B MIC Selected LED Limiter Active LED Power Supply: 100V - 240V, 50Hz/60Hz Enclosure Material: Polypropylene Grille: 18 Gauge Powder Coated Steel Dimensions: 516mm x 350mm x 323mm / 20.3'' x 13.8'' x 12.7'' (H x W x D) Weight: 13.7kg / 30.3lbs

£25. I’ve had this in my Kramer 350B for 30 years. Great preamp. I decided to change it out for a Bartolini BTB with pull passive switch, just for a change. 2 band stacked pots for T&B and a 500k Volume pot. Comes with a choice of side fitting barrel jack and a top loading pickguard fitted jack, both stereo obviously. I’ve also included a spare battery terminal and some knobs.

Hi all, I have this stunning Musicman 20th anniversary (1976-1996), stunning flamed maple with birdseye maple neck, immaculate other than very slight tarnishing of the tuners and a small ding by the jack socket, looking for a Ken Smith 4, either Japanese or USA with wood finishes only (with cash from me). I have taken the pickguard off as I think it looks far better without it (it was only stuck on, I’ll need to find it) I’ve also changed the knobs to black as I think they looks better (imo), of course I have the originals, comes with its original tweedy type case, plays great, these were I think made for 1 year only in a limited qty.

@Leonard Smalls Exciting stuff. Great beat, and that bass riff growls the good one - I'm jumping round the room.

Talking of wibbling randomly, here's mine... I thought a breakdancing Gandalf deserved something with bass chords and an Ian Dury-style random vocal. Oi oi! Bass and rhythm guitar = Sandberg basic through Helix. Wah guitar = Squier Strat through Helix. End guitar solo by my m8 K, Strat thru Helix. Drums EZ and AG Techno kit. Mixed in Doblies with Ozone 9, mixroom and bassroom. -

Setlist is always a very good idea. I tend to put the key next to the song title too.

Wish I did have, I'd just wibble about in front of it randomly for five minutes and, hey presto, there's this month's entry sorted 😄 -

All of the above, with the emphasis on having fun. Keep everything simple. I've been gigging for 35+years and I still colour code jack/speakon sockets for all but the most basic of connections. Look and act professional from the moment you turn up to the moment you leave as this might end up being a repeat booking and/or there may be people present who are looking to book a band. Have spare leads/batteries/strings and any easily breakable things, some mains fuses and a basic toolkit. The checklist mentioned above is a good idea - at my gig last night the experienced guitarist forgot his strap - it happens! Collect video and photos to use in future publicity. If you run short of songs, you can always claim that you've had a request to play one of your main set songs again although don't milk it too much and ideally arrange for a mate in the audience to call it out. We always aim to have more songs than necessary to fill the agreed set times. I've fallen foul of the 'adrenaline rush' mentioned by @Maude above and we ended up having to do three of our songs again. Not an ideal situation to be in. It's a performance and no one is looking for perfection. Mistakes happen - move on without making a big deal of them. Particularly don't point out bandmates mistakes. The time to sort problems out is the next practice session, not the gig. The audience will pick up on the onstage mood - if you're having fun they will enjoy the performance more. Make eye contact with them. If you can, have a dress rehearsal with non-musician mates and video it - you can check out your stage presence and get some feedback before you step on stage. Enjoy the experience and make sure you post your update on the 'How was your gig...' thread here. 😀
