What type of pickup / microphone system are you using? It’s a bass amp with a tube pre amp so should be warm and lovely. Like all amps it’ll take some dialling in I guess.

It gives my Fender American Deluxe Jazz a run for its money. -
You don’t need to really - or at least it would be a lot of work for little real gain given that to manage output you can balance the G/D and A/E poles with PUP height, and in doing so some of the tone imbalance would at the same time be resolved (and of course by swapping PUP arrangement you’d probably introduce different tone issues) 👍 -
This can't work at all, as your tone control is wired like a volume... 🤦🏻 If you don't understand the diagram above, take this bass to a friend of yours who knows what he's doing electronically speaking or to a repair shop. It's not that complicated, but will take a lot of time to explain remotely.

I think today’s the logical day for showing this one. May the 4th be with you, and all that! I’ve added a delay since last year and a more fully-featured drive pedal. The drone, a multi-chorus and a fuzz have made way. I’m happy with the functionality of what is essentially a novelty board though. In particular, the bass chorus and reverb both sound right up there with some of the best of that type of pedal.

Sounds like your whole band are fairly new to this, or haven't been playing long together. At rehearsals you should be playing at an appropriate volume and getting used to how the balanced band should sound. Too many rehearsals and consequently gigs descend into loudness wars. If you can't get it right in rehearsals you'll never get it right at gigs. The line check at the gig should be basically vocals to get the right volume and make sure you're not getting feedback on the stage area. Each musician should then do a line check to make sure they're getting signal at an appropriate level. Then fine tune during the first song. Remember that someone sitting in the guitarists 'amp set to kill' zone will always think the guitar is too loud, while the guitarist standing next to the amp with his speaker blasting past his kneecaps is always going to think he's too quiet.

Right then! For the ‘know it alls’ going off half cocked without any facts or context. Paul is a mate and ex student of mine. I bought two basses off him as projects. Done them both and decided they weren’t for me. I contacted Paul on Thursday before listing either bass and said I was going to sell them and would Give him 50% of the profits. He didn’t feel comfortable, I insisted. Paul will receive, as we privately agreed, half of the money made from both sales. Always good to know the facts before you start slinging the mud! Eh lads? Ffs 🤦♂️ Now the gobshites know the facts, I’ll be expecting you remove your comments which are against forum rules. But thanks for derailing the sale thread.

Has anyone tried the WD800 with upright bass? Had a shot of a D800+ and really liked it for its relative simplicity but I play upright as well and can't help feeling the WD800 might work better with a less"baked-in" tone possibly and the parametric mid controls handy for problematic rooms. I live in Orkney so getting a shot of a WD800 soon is impossible... Cheers Iain
