  1. Past hour
  2. Couple of PMs re what's sold and what's still available in this rather chaotic thread, so..... Bodies still available
  3. I looked up suggestions on Google. Artificial Intelligence told me to use a heat gun, or a sander. I think that AI confused "double bass" with "floorboards ". Easily done. My money would be on talking to a violin maker, or a luthier, to ask how they would remove a finish.
  4. One and One is One - Medicine Head
  5. It's possible ... I may try some 99% acetone on an odd area to see if that gets it off.
  6. 2 Become 1 - Spice Girls
  7. I had one, it was absolutely awesome. Great basses.
  8. Down an outside metal fire escape at 2am in December 😲🥶🥶🥶

  11. Tascam MA-8 This has 8 fantastic sounding pre-amps. I've not had a need to use it for a while, so did a quick test with my AKG c214 condenser mic to ensure all channels were fully working, clear and with working phantom power. All channel sounded lovely (audio available on request, but it's just me say "testing channel 5" etc.) There are 2 red knob caps missing (channel 7 and 8) as per the photos, but other than that it's a good as new. Each channel gain has the feel of quality for something made in Japan 20 years ago. A fantastic piece of kit which will keep working for another 20+ years easily. Comes with 'unscrew-able' feet which can be removed if you have a tight rack unit, but very useful for desktop use. Any questions, let me know £85 if picked up from South Lincolnshire area or if you want it posting within the UK I can look up postage charges

  12. Only The Lonely - Roy Orbison
  13. Nice, it's no fun lugging gear through a narrow galley bar area. I know, I've done it. Daryl
  14. HEY FOND DU LAC AREA FRIENDS! Maple Road Blues Band is coming to your neighborhood THIS SATURDAY NIGHT! Join the party at Capones! www.mapleroadbluesband.com My concerns. We've never played there before, It's a late night bar gig and I'm 71. At my age I'm just not comfortable being out at night in a bar even though I'm technically working there. I'm not sure if this place is known for having live music. I'm sure I'll have stories tomorrow. Daryl
  15. No, there's a side door into the band area and we parked right outside. Couldn't have been much easier!
  16. Not a bad night in Portsmouth but quiet at the venue which was a shame. We were pretty tight having thrown in a few we’ve not played in a while but they went ok despite having played them on the 5 previously and have been using the FrankenJazz with a Hipshot so I was still experimenting with different positions and flipping between E and D to fit which led to a few errors in position when dropped. Worst for me was the end of Rollin’ In The Deep when I got songs muddled and was playing (in our tuning) D-E-F#-E-D instead of F#-E-D-E-F#. Guitarist said after “I thought you were going for different inversions but actually it ended up as the “jazz” version. Sound was good from where I was and at one point vox came over to me, nodded at my rig and said “oooo that sounds awesome” … he was right, it did 😁 Annoyingly I’m still waiting both for my new IEM’s with a new mold for a hopefully better fit, and the old ones repaired after one side stopped working ☹️ Meant I had to use the KZ’s I picked up as spares. I haven’t managed to get a good fit so the sound from them is never as good as the molded set, but it was better than nowt. I ended up one in / one out which was ok. On stage the sound seemed well balanced. Hopefully out front was the same!
  17. How was the load in. Did you have to carry gear through the narrow bar area? Daryl
  18. Cast around for open mics. I've encountered a wide variety of them, from being almost the youngest and rockiest there at one to being the oldest and folkiest at another.
  19. It's a long, thin pub. If someone is standing at the bar you would have difficulty getting past them. I quite like the band alcove because on most nights it's the only place you can stand without people trying to get past you while carrying drinks. You do have to back off the bottom end a bit though because it's quite enclosed
  20. Nice facial expression and hand gesture. Daryl
