  1. Past hour
  2. China Grove - Doobie Brothers
  3. My solution .......
  4. Oh, that’s surprising. I know the Fender has a cable tone built in (like the boss system) but I’m sure that’s to reduce the top end. What did you end up getting?
  5. Matty Groves - Fairport Convention
  6. I bought the Fender, returned it after one rehearsal as it sapped a huge amount of low end from the sound. At home volume levels it sounded good, like some compression was added and just regulating the lows, but with the band it was like there was a filter removing anything from 120 and lower, took all of the oomph from the sound, and adding bass on the amp didn`t really solve it. Shame, it was a nice bit of kit and as BRX says easy to identify the transmitter/receiver - one of the reasons I bought it as middle aged eyesight needs all the help it can get.
  7. My old rig! It still looks as immaculate as when I had it. I took that on three pro-tours around the UK and it picked up so many compliments from soundmen and other bands. GLWTS.
  8. Hi,

I have a Bartolini  8e precision pickup , it's the active version , quite early, JIC that would suit.

    Best Wishes,

    Mike

  9. Might also be worth understanding why the strings sound unbalanced?
  10. From the battery and the open battery snap. Then you can see, whether there's any leak.
  11. Most Dimarzios have those, I'd get the Model Js https://www.dimarzio.com/pickups/jazz-bass-hum-canceling/dimarzio-model-j
  12. I guess they're basically the follow on models to the previous Road Worn Jazz and the Highway 1, both of which were universally loved. Same basic recipe with some added 'Signature Bass' dollars added on.
  13. I've had one of these and seem to remember it was a pretty decent combo. GLWTS
  14. A couple of years ago I was working as an IT service provider for primary schools in our state. One of the older buildings we had on our contract was mid to late 1800s I think, classic original one room village school type thing. It had the same construction method, sand and cheese. We were trying to hang a 75" smart monitor/interactive whiteboard thing one day. That was an interesting afternoon to say the least.
  15. Postage possible at buyers expenses
  16. I played a mates one very briefly and was impressed, it just felt "right" if that makes any sense. And yes, thinking about it the Flea, Nate & JMJ are all Mexican reliced signature basses, and the ones that get rave reviews pretty much everywhere.
  17. Looking to massively simplify my rig. As such my modest pedal board is on the block:- Origin Effects 64 Black Panel i have the original box and instructions somewhere £275 posted in UK Fulltone Mosfet Bass Drive unboxed but in great condition £225 posted in UK Korg DR10 tuner unboxed but in great condition £30 posted in UK. Maybe a slight delay on this one pedal as we are gigging this weekend coming and it may be needed all have velcro on bottom. Pedalboard itself will also be up for grabs soon. looking to fund something valvey so an Ashdown CTM30/Little Bastard would be considered in trades/part ex
  18. I should have a set of rings lying about if you want them. Assuming I can find them of course
  19. Yes, they were recommended because of the "adjustable pole pieces to improve the string balance". Also, six months ago when we looked into this, I think they were more readily available. Now I have the funds to go ahead, time has moved on and they're not as available as they were at the time.
  20. Im quite shocked at how much tone im missing. I had a play with the EQ last night and could get some of it back, but can't get rid of the slight phasing issue. The more top end I use, the more obvious it is. Not so much when playing along to music, but on its own its off putting. I only want it for headphone practice, would never use it with a band. I loved the Cab sim in the Nux NBP-5 so thought they would all be like this. I even loaded an IR I had in the Nux in to the MVave and it sounded completely different. Must admit I too gave up on the Helix Cab sims when I had mine, although again, that was just for headphone practice.
  21. Throw me an offer, I'm open - going from what I've seen online the pricing is fair but I could be wrong, I don't see a lot of these online so I'm happy to talk!
  22. Hi Gang! Hope everyones good. Putting my Ashdown rig on sale - this is from December 2024 so 6 months old basically and can prove it. Working perfectly and taken out to rehearsal just 3 times, but going digital with the band (Anagram + IEMs) so no use for this sadly. The head comes with cover, mint. Cabs with minimum scratches - enough to feel them with a nail but not cut thru the tolex - I can still remember the trip where this happen and facepalmed myself. Cabs are about 14kg each or so, can carry the whole rig two handed. Tweeters on OFF/MID/Hi on both cabs. Would prefer selling as a rig. If separate: RM 500 EVO III head £400 w/ cover ABM 2x10 EVO IV Pro Line (not the compact) £400 ABM 1x15 EVO IV Pro Line £350 Take the whole rig for £1k and I'll add the foodswitch and cables too. NOTE: Decoloration is only because of having wiped them with a wet cloth to clean the scratches for more accurate picture - they are black all over and even of course.
