Thanks for the replies So after giving it some thought I decided to go for a bass tube screamer, my thinking being that it was better to go for the one I wanted than you go through a few different pedals to settle on one that I liked. Starting to regret it now though. I could not find anywhere in the UK that had one in stock so I ordered from musicstore.com (formerly DV247) as I decided I was fine to wait the 3-4 days quoted. A week goes by and I speak to UPS who tell me the parcel is pending customs clearance, the person I speak to seems nice but clueless so I decide to email musicstore.com to see if they can investigate at there end to see if there is anything they can do( have dealt with ups loads in the past and it's very common for them to be missing documents and not bother to contact the sender to resolve) Musicstore emails me and tells me they cannot do anything to speed up delivery times, the next day I receive an email from another staff member at musicstore who says that the parcel is with ups and customs and they are speaking to ups to resolve. Ups emails me and asks me for a copy of the invoice which I email them, a few days pass and I email them to chase up and they again request the invoice despite me sending them this days ago so I send to them and tell them that I sent this to them already Emailed musicstore to tell them this and hoping that they will then put pressure on Ups to resolve this, 2 days passes and no response, is now today's date and I email both Ups and musicstore as it's now 2 weeks since I placed the order. Musicstore emails me and tells me that they cannot do anything to speed up the delivery. I know delays happen but I can't help but feel this has been handled pretty badly.

For me, the worst overplayer I went on stage with was a flute player when I was in college and we had an asignment to rehearse and play a gig. We practised all term, had a handful of nice numbers (Watermelon Man and a few other lively jazz tunes). The flue player didn't turn up to the practise sessions, but turned up to the gig and played ALL OVER EVERY PART OF EVERY SONG TWITTERING AWAY LIKE A PARROT ON METH. I could have twatted him with a mic stand.

I am not an Adam Clayton fan. I don't like his basslines. He's a multimillion selling artist in one of the worlds biggest bands and I play the occasional pub gig, but still, I don't think slapp bass would be an improvement.

I don't think Ozzy and Dio were particularly friends either.

It allows the valves and other parts of 1940s/50s amp designs that get hot to hang down into the speaker compartment where they can dissipate the heat more easily.

Just got a EBS MB3, need a cheap IR loader for headphone practice.
dave_bass5 replied to dave_bass5's topic in Effects
Thanks. I should clarify that it’s just going to sit between the EBS and my computer interface. I’ll take the headphone feed off the interface so no need for any headphone socket etc, although obviously i can just ignore that part. Also needs to be mains powered so i dont have to unplug anything when not using it. I see that NUX do one called Pulse. A bit more than i was hoping to pay but as i already love the IR’s in the MLD maybe that one will be better. -

Minininjarob replied to Minininjarob's topic in Bass Guitars
I’ve just checked the specs and it has a 1.5” neck so that’s Jazz size yeah?? I’m thinking a blue one and swapping the hardware to all black, new electrics and a nice pickup set (if the standard ones I don’t like) and that’ll be amazing. For maybe £250 all in minus new pickups. That’ll look amazing. Need to go and check one out ASAP. -

Stealth posted a topic in Amps and Cabs For Sale
Bought this recently from Bass Direct whose write up I have shamelessly stolen (`Hope you don’t ming Mark!) it’s a great amp and stupidly loud but not quite the sound in my head right now. I have fitted a full set of brand new JJ valves 3 x ECC83 1x ECC81 The Price includes UK postage or Local delivery. Trades…….. Aguilar Tone Hammer 500 EBS Reidmar 750 Ashdown ABM / Rootmaster Orange Little Bass Thing MarkBass Rocker Try Me ??? Heres all the in-depth stuff The TTE 801 is the amp of choice for those who want a warm vintage tone with stadium-rocking power. As with the 500W version, the TTE 8001’s vintage vibe was carefully engineered with features such as an classic-style tube preamp, a tube compressor, a simple 3-band passive EQ section, a “Colour” filter (a tubeadaptation of the famous Markbass VLE control), but gets amplified by a potent 800W power amp that features our innovative Tube Technology Emulator, giving even more tubey warmth. Current technology is brought together with classic tone concepts in a head that looks and sounds vintage—but features some special adaptations of the Markbass innovations that put the brand on the map! The TUBE HEART of the TTE 801 makes this head an incomparable vintage sounding amp!!! But there's no better way to understand “Modern Vintage” than to plug in the amps and let the tone explains itself! This amp is presented in fantastic condition with a gig bag included. The Sonicake Pocket Master has a headphone out and is within budget, it's also tiny and contains a rechargeable battery. Supports IR and also has a few NAM capture slots. -
