  1. Past hour
  2. When I was young, you had your band and that was it. Getting into my 30s, I realised a lot of people had a few different projects on the go. I wound up doing the same and would regularly be in 3 bands at once. It peaked around 2019 where I was in six bands. However, being in a band means you put the work in. You show up on time, learn your parts and commit. I operated first come first served with bookings and actually having clashes was rarely an issue. Equally, you have to be gracious about people depping for you, if you are playing in a few groups. I've just gone the other way and currently have my duo that is pretty regular and just one band that is more of a recording project that do a few gigs a year at most. I was definitely becoming guilty of not saying no to things but I actually think if you aren't learning the songs, it's quite rude. Rehearsal is to learn to play as a band, not for the ones who are thinly stretched to be taught the songs, especially if they then forget them for next time. People have different levels of enthusiasm and offer different levels of commitment. However, there has to be a common minimum standard and if players are not meeting this, something needs to give.
  3. Richter BassXX 2-band preamp. Volume control pot and stacked bass/treble - Previously fitted to 1 pickup bass, so there's no balance pot included. You can either use a standard passive balance control, or I have an active Richter balance pot available separately (click here). Please Note: The connectors for the low battery LED have snapped off at the board.. so this feature isn't available, the preamp itself is fully working. Comes with black knobs and new battery connector. I'll include a battery clip if you need one, just ask. £75 including UK delivery (fully tracked/insured), payment via bank transfer (preferred) or PayPal. PHOTO WILL BE ADDED SHORTLY 👍
  4. I’ll do that tomorrow and drop you a message
  5. Serial number dates it to 2015, I don’t have an accurate weight but it feels a touch lighter than my Sterling, which is 4.2kg. Cheers Steve, are you sure you don’t need a backup? 😉
  6. Thank you. Indeed it isn’t
  7. Thanks Walshy. That'd be great 😎👍
  8. Richter MX2 - Active Balance Control. Used but in full working condition. 10mm shaft - For full specification click here. Can be used to balance 2 magnetic pickups, or mix a piezo signal with a magnetic pickup. Comes with the battery connector, which as you'll see from the picture was been cut short (previously connected to a battery box), so the wires will need extending/connecting to a battery clip. I'll throw in a battery clip for free if you need one, just ask. £60 including UK delivery - please contact me for other locations. Payment via bank transfer (preferred) or PayPal. I also have a Hipshot piezo 5 string bridge for sale (click here).. happy to do a deal on the pair 😉
  9. If the previous owner has used the discount, you can't use it. One discount per physical unit.
  10. Excellent condition (pedal almost ‘as new’, box is a little more beaten) MXR Studio Comp. This is famously EXACTLY the same circuit as the MXR Bass Comp, but with a different enclosure. MXR did this to sell it more effectively to the guitar market. To be fair, I think it looks smarter than the Bass Comp. This is MXR’s take on an 1176 comp I believe. Not much else to say, solid pedal, nice transparent sound, effective compression. Cool. £120 inc UK postage. No trades unless you have a Guild Starfire II in ‘Natural’ or a Sire P5R 5 string in white. Cheers Si
  11. Honestly you couldn't pay me enough to use the Seymour Duncan SPB-1, I had one and couldn't wait to get rid of it, LOTS of bass, no mids, not a great deal of treble. If I was playing dub reggae I would have loved it but in a rock setting (and by rock I mean classic rock not heavy rock) I got absolutely buried, the SPB-2 on the other hand is a fantastic pickup, not a great deal of treble but lots of mids, decent bass, when I had one I used to run one without a tone pot and got a great sound from it. Nowadays if I was looking at replacement pickups I would try and get one with as flat a response as possible and shape the tone with EQ but that's just my personal preference.
  12. Yep I have an Inverness Green one or whatever it’s called. Happy to do you a vid
  13. On the Sonny side of the Street - Frank Sinatra
  14. Still playing it or willing to sell it?
  15. Hipshot 5 string bridge, with Graphtech 'Ghost' piezo saddles - Used but in excellent cosmetic condition. Please note: One of the piezo wires has been re-soldered and taped (see pic 2), after being snipped by accident when removing a zip tie.. no issues, it works perfectly. Includes the summing board and the standard wire to connect it to a Graphtech preamp, as well as another wire with the connector removed at one end, for use with a different pre/buffer.. such as the Richter MX2 I'm also selling (click here).. happy to do a deal on the pair 😉 No original box but will be well packed for delivery. £150 including UK delivery (tracked and insured). Please PM for other locations. Payment via bank transfer (preferred) or PayPal.
  16. There are a couple of basses I have my eye on so make me a lowball offer and I might just accept.
  17. Selling off my Jet Tele-style guitar. As far as I know, this is completely stock. These come from the factory with Alnico V pickups, through body stringing and locking tuners - all upgrades over the stock JT-300. One small but somewhat insignificant defect with it is that the control plate doesn't quite line up with the routing underneath, creating a small gap which is about half a millimetre wide. I personally didn't notice it until it was pointed out to me. Otherwise this is a fantastic guitar, with a really comfortable roasted maple neck and good sounding pickups, and I have happily gifted it two or three times. Only selling as I am no longer playing guitar in this band, and have half a dozen other guitars (including some other Telecasters), and want to cut down on gear before an upcoming house move. Collection only from Birmingham/Solihull (Near Brum airport) or can meet nearby. Would entertain trades involving a P-style Bass coming my way, and some cash going either way. It's on Reverb for £165 but for folk of this parish I will say £150. Any questions, please drop me a message Pictures are here: https://imgur.com/a/jet-jt-350-fs-e1o8R9Y
  18. Ah yes apologies, I have changed the title!
  19. I feel seen by the artwork on this one 🤣 looks incredible!
  20. Today
  21. Hi Guys Since I got some decent pitch shifting presets on my HX Stomp the EH Pitchfork has become redundant. in good condition, has original box and power supply. Will post at buyers expense. I will take PayPal f & f or standard if the buyer pays the fees
  22. I guess it really boils down to how you view yourself - a band member or perhaps a musician who happens to play with whoever gives them work? I’ve played music for a living for over 30 years, and wouldn’t have been able to do so if I’d not been loyal to the bands I was in. It’s different in London I know ( and maybe other big cities ) where there are plenty of great deps who allow lots of flexibility if the situation allows it. But commitment and reliability count for something outside of that sphere, and in my world I couldn’t have constantly been depping my gigs out whenever I’d had a previous / better offer. I’m not saying either option is wrong or right, just not the same for everyone. Similar problems can arise when band members have day jobs that define their availability - being in a band ( earning big money) with 3 teachers in it got to be very annoying for me. (Best bit was when we got some deps in to enable the band to carry on working, and they were better than the guys working in school!) Naturally it all inevitably came to a messy end.
