@AMV001 a subtle take on a 4003 from HW:

I’ve re-listed this with a price increase due to fix the majority of the issues with it. So… A friend messaged as soon as I posted it last time saying he wanted to buy it. Long story short he messed me around for a couple of weeks and never ended up actually buying it. So, I decided to keep hold of it and get it cleaned up. I took it to my local tech who contact cleaned it and added a new power input jack so all of the crackling has gone. But, he said it needs a new foot switch and it sometimes doesn’t fully engage when pressed the first time. As I was only using it at home I didn’t bother spending more on the switch as he charged me £30 for the clean up and new input. But I’m just not using it so decided to re list it. It was £80 last time so was going to re list at £105 inc postage in order to to get a little back from the clean up spend. Here’s a video of it showing the intermittent footswitch. He said it’s a fairly simple fix, I just didn’t want to spend any more of it at that point. The original listing below… 100% on how to price this but… It’s in desperate need of a service and needs the power connection replacing as it’s a bit loose. Note - this was converted to be powered only years ago and no longer runs on batteries. They go anywhere between £160-£200 brand new with box etc in a good condition. Which, this is not. It was bought for me as a Christmas present in about 2003/4 (Imagine my parents face when they read ‘Russian big muff’ on my Xmas list 😂) Used solidly for about 8 years and has signs of such use including remnants of the gaffer tape I used to use to hold the position of the knobs. It’s sat in storage since about 2011. So, I’m going to put it up at £80 which is half of the cheapest perfect condition, working price I’ve seen. But, I’m not trying to rip anyone off so open to offers on this and wouldn’t write off trades for preamps, Chorus or compression pedals, or cases for short scales. +£5 postage to mainland UK https://youtube.com/shorts/jxTjulbQicg?si=duFNeNoyczDZiy5Q

Trace Wattage, I Know, Old Topic, But...

In those days it was!! LOL -
Barefaced Big Baby This is the first version of the cab as confirmed by Alex. It has a 12” Woofer and a tweeter. It’s 350 watts RMS and will take amps up to 600 watts according to the manufacturer. The impedance is 8 ohms. A fantastic cab in excellent condition but a bit big for my limited storage space as I now have custody of all the PA gear. I’d be interested in a sale or a swap for a smaller Barefaced cab (Midget, Compact or 10 perhaps) in excellent condition and of a similar power rating. The cab comes with a nice Roqsolid cover also in excellent condition. It weighs 16.9 kgs with the cover so nice and light. Measurement wise it is 64cms in height, 50 wide and 34cms deep. There is a tiny ding that has been touched up on the underside and to the right of the front port/vent area. The cloth is excellent and so is the covering. The handle rubber has come away slightly but you can only see this when pulling the handle. I could post if necessary but it will be at the buyer’s cost. Pickup preferred. I don’t use a car so I can’t meet halfway. Sorry. UK only. PM me any questions or offers. Thanks.

@jimbobothy and I have just completed a complex series of transactions, all dealt with in a perfectly gentlemanly manner, all the ideal transactional boxes ticked in pleasingly black ink using a shockingly ostentatious quill. I think he may be the first Basschatter to receive an unprecedented two Frank Blank Seals of Approval...

Respectfully disagree. Perhaps smaller 'Mom & Pops' stores' stock might not appeal but PMT had store/warehouses covering a broad range for beginners right through to professionals. I'm in the middle of that spectrum and sourced my great Ibby EHB-6 through PMT Leeds. Bought a ton of stuff in PMT Manchester through the years too.

Up for sale is a pedal that's been a staple sound on my board for a long time. The Emma Okto Nojs is a very dirty/synthy pedal, and a whole plethora of synth tones can be had with this! Just add filter and Analog synth heaven. It's two pedals in one Octave - this is a very deep and plummy octave, it has a filter, so can go very deep to buzzy like a sawtooth wave, it does the OC2 thing well. It tracks very well, and has the internal "bass" setting, which i think helps a bit more. Fuzz- this Fuzz is in two parts, the first is a very dynamic synth Fuzz, with a subtle octave up sound as you play higher up. This sounds very similar to the 3 leaf you're Doom currently going for tons of money online, great for Moog like tones. It also has a fuzzy square wave tone an octave down, with a volume and colour (tone) so it can be used alone or in conjunction with the normal Fuzz sound. When Fuzz and octave are switched on together, they run in parallel for a cleaner more dynamic synth tones. It's in fantastic condition, with a pretty blue Octopuss orgy on the front, and with the original box. £100 incl UK only delivery

That seemed to happen very often. Folks ended up tagging him on that FB group to get his attention. Very strange. I'm no longer on FB so I don't know if it's improved or not

By way of an update, over halfway through treatment and can see the finishing line albeit still a bit distant. But a good friend has asked me to join him and an excellent drummer to do a 45 mins set at a BBQ. A perfect opportunity to play again, not too long a set, outdoors to help protect my immune system and it's mainly country so not too taxing (famous last words!).

IEM Conundrum ....... possible solution??
Phil Starr replied to Pirellithecat's topic in PA set up and use
I think @David Morison is right, you should be able to do this with the mixer and this will give you better control than any other method. I've not used the CQ so I can't help there. I use the aux to drive floor monitors with my duo It uses more or less the same mix as FOH (except when I swap electric for acoustic guitar where I turn down to compensate for the direct sound of the acoustic) The difference is that I adjust the bass frequencies as floor monitors are boomy due to floor reinforcement and you can in any case hear the lowest frequencies from the PA and you don't need both. Anyway after a bit of twiddling I get the same sound from the monitors as I do from the PA which means I can tweak the mix if my guitarist has changed his settings. You could do something similar on the monitors to create a better sound through your headphones, not ideal as the kick sound will also change but it will give you some flexibility until you sort out how to split the bass on the mixer. If you want to go for a hardware solution The Behringer powerplay P1 will allow you to balance two inputs from a beltpack headphone amp and your BD121 will allow you to split the bass into two signals albeit one balanced and one unbalanced. The Micromon 400 has a through feed and a stero input which are mixable and the Behringer Ultra DI 120 will split or combine two channels as well as matching impedances or can be used as two DI boxes. It's my favourite 'get you out of trouble' way of sorting connection problems and I have one in my leads box and one in my mixer box. Any one of these will work. -
The demise of the instrument store. I just think the traditional band, "electric guitar thing" in the main, is over. It only ever started because of the blues and R&R. The very two genres which in the minds of young people today are pretty much obsolete. I popped into PMT two years ago and it just seemed full of active pa and DJ kit, barely a guitar or bass in sight. Light years away from the, 'ye olde guitar shop' on the corner stuffed with 100 watt tweed front Marshalls, slinky Hiwatts and Orange bass bins etc. Sad really, online just isn't quite the same.

What a fantastic colour. Congrats.

Hi Folks, Flyht Pro 1U Rack Drawer 27.5cm wide x 25cm deep for sale. I bought this directly from Thomann as B-Stock and had overlooked its dimensions so I immediately tried to return it to them but they just issued me a refund as it wasn't worth the environmental impact of shipping it across Europe, apparently. I didn't even screw it in once during its time with me so it appears to be completely brand new to my eyes. Nice smooth action on the drawer. You're welcome to come and pick it up IRL from Petersfield, Hampshire, England or I can ship it to you for an extra £5 (which would be a total of £30). Happy to meet you somewhere local to Petersfield or arrange a fuel contribution from you if you need it driving a little further. Feel free to fire over any questions you may have. Cheers, B

Only recently got this as I've wanted to try one for a while as a possibly workhorse for a function band. These are great basses but I don't think its the one for me at the moment. Really good quality and nice feel to it, and a good B string. Weighs in at around 4.3kgs. In great condition, only 1 mark on the body, the scratch plate and rear panel still have the cellophane on them. Could be interested in trades for 4 or 5 strings. Would prefer collection from Chelmsford, comes with a good Yamaha gig bag but I don't currently have packing material to ship. Any questions please ask!
