Not really a prejudice, but I’ve never understood why anyone would wear a hat when someone else has taken the trouble to provide a perfectly good, weatherproof roof over their heads. Ungrateful, I call it 😂 -
Many thanks for all the helpful replies and comments…very much appreciated. The dealer in question is Rich Tone Music, located in Sheffield. Problem is, I live in Luton, so I can’t really turn up at their premises. Paid by debit card, so no protection there. I have phoned them, but was told someone would get back to me the same day. A local guitar tech has confirmed that it’s the pickup that’s faulty, but is reluctant to do any work because of warranty issues. I’m actually in my 70’s, reasonably poor health (completely my own fault due to a lifetime of pro bass playing!) and still working about four nights a week. Once again, very many thanks to all.

NBD: Slightly modified Fender Flea Jazz

That looks good, SM. I keep wondering what the little round dents are supposed to be, or what happened to Flea's '61 from which these basses were copied? -
For sale is my Vanderkley MNT 112 which was bought New from Bass Direct in 2020. 600W RMS and 17kg. The cab is in immaculate condition and always stored in the Roqsolid branded Vanderkley cover. I’ve recently bought the LNT 210 4ohms version, which renders the MNT112 surplus to requirements. Considering the above, this is Sale Only, and not interested in trades. Collection only from BD11 between Bradford and Leeds.

My biggest gripe is primary coloured instruments - was it Fender himself who questioned who on earth would want to play a blue/red/green etc guitar? Someone high profile of the time did, anyway. I heard it recently on an episode of 5 Watt World. Instruments should either be black, white, or some kind of wood grain/natural finish - like classical instruments - if someone turned up with a metallic red trumpet you'd think they were a right clown... And headstocks should always match the body, no matter what. What's especially bad is when you have a primary colour instrument with a non-painted headstock, rosewood fretboard, and coloured pickguard. 🥲 Like this fella here... Four different colours going on and none of them really match, just tacky. No style, no consistency. it would look more acceptable with a matching blue headstock and a white pickguard. (but still wrong) /

I have a little project upcoming and need to plug a Jazz bass pickup rout; I'm thinking about either filling it with resin (which is preferred) or a combination of a rough sawn plug glued in and then panel filler, then painting. The rout isn't going to be used for a replacement pickup, so long as it's smooth after painting, it'll be fine. Concerning a resin pour, no idea what resin I need. Guess I only need about 125ml and am loathed to buy a huge amount I'll end up throwing away. Suggestions?

I feel I must take issue here. The thread title clearly asks for IRRATIONAL prejudices. -
NBD: Slightly modified Fender Flea Jazz

This shows where I used the edge of a knife to scrape some of the marks together and make them look a bit more 'natural'. Also you can see the 'checking' which I highlighted by rubbing in oily dirt from my lathe's chip tray... Obviously this is a very much a matter personal taste. -

Cheapest Fender or most expensive Squier?
HeadlessBassist replied to Joe Nation's topic in Bass Guitars
Very true. I've been plotting a new Jazz build with @Silky999 and the parts I want are often prohibitively expensive. Right now I'm looking at combining this build with one of Kiwi's forthcoming graphite necks. -

Ironically, and though I admire his ability, my favourite Level 42 songs are the ones without slap. Some of the ridiculous "pop"s, especially in 70's music simply don't fit in to the song. -

I'm indifferent to Wals - I think there was one song with a fretless in it which was OK, but otherwise they're indistinct. -

If looking at a for sale item I'll factor in the cost of a refin. The laughable one is "professionally relic'd".
