I love this re-creation of the wal mk1! I’m also in the beginning steps of planning and designing my own wal re-creation but my template doesn’t seem to have the best measurements (I scaled a photo up to the 34inch scale length) could I also have the design? Cheers - Liam

Thanks. I shall persevere.

An Argosy of Thunderbirds. There were others after this, too. The Lull, the Spector, more Gibsons. Oh, an Epiphone and another Epiphone that was in bits. And another Lull. Damn.

Absolutely loving my new Cort Space 4 but I am really missing the sound of the active EMGs I have in my jazz bass. The EMG soapbars are too wide and I don't want to route the bass for them. likewise, the EMG J set would fit length wise but leave a big ugly hole wither side. Is there any other brand of pickup that sound like EMGs?

So long as the truss rod is functioning, then with the right set up, you should be good with pretty much any string gauge. Turn the screw clockwise again until you feel some tension. Have the strings slack at this point and get the neck straight or even slightly back bowed. Then tune up and check the relief etc.
-
This requires a good drummer though. There's a young chap, recent ACM graduate, who I play with on occasion and he just does everything right - volume, not over playing etc etc... but he's a pro. Some of the other drummers I play with make everything a bit harder not out of spite, just less experience.

Is there any mileage in customising a USB stick (format credit card, or key fob, for instance...)..? For a run of 100, I've seen prices of around £2.50 per unit, with colour logo, degressive with quantities, naturally. Pop the album, in MP4, FLAC, or Wav format, whatever on it; job done..? The graphics files could be on there, too, with photos, video clip, bio etc. Is that not already a 'thing' as merchandising..?

Bought this used a few weeks ago from my local music shop for £100. I’ve gigged it twice since. It’s in great condition with original box. It really is a fantastic pedal for the money. I had grand plans of building a nice board of singles but I’ve decided to just stick to multiFX. It has Velcro on the back but the original sticky rubber feet are also in the box if you want to stick them back on. Yours for £95 posted to Mainland UK. Thanks for looking Alex

We're down to our last few days, so I think we have 15 bass players plus one very significant other who may or may not join us for lunch (though she is very welcome) and may or may not bring mutt (that's the dog, not @bigthumb) @rwillett @bigthumb+ 1 <-- Vegetarian @neepheid @ead @80Hz @GreeneKing <-- Vegetarian @stevie @nekomatic @ossyrocks <-- Endless tea @peterjam <-- Eats anything, likes small children. @doomkeeper @Frank Blank @zbd1960 @bagsieblue <-- Vegetarian @Mottlefeeder <-- Vegetarian I count five vegetarians so that leaves 10-11 non vegetarians. Thankfully we have less than twenty otherwise I run out of toes. I'll ensure we have a collection of circa. 30% vegetarian pizzas and the rest a range of fairly mild pizzas up to quite spicy ones. As I have no sense of smell, though I can taste but its reduced, I tend to go for the spicier one. I do not judge people here I'll also get some salads, 300 tea bags for @ossyrocks, 4 gallons of milk for @ossyrocks (do you want sugar as well?). We'll have the village hall from when I drag myself out of bed, say 07:30 to around 16:45 or so on Saturday afternoon. We can park on the road outside the village hall. Can I ask that people unload and then move their cars please onto the main road please and not park behind the village hall as it is in use for other things and I have to live with the neighbours for another year. There is power in the hall but you might want extension leads. We have loads of tables and chairs. Any questions please ask. Rob

Owen started following <sigh> Truss Rod
-
I am being really brave. I am adjusting the truss rod on my Telecaster (guitar - sue me). It is at the body end. I have slackened the strings. I will confess to having initially turned it clockwise to bend the neck to provide more space for the strings to swing. Don't judge me, I am learning. How hard can it be, right? So anyway, I am now turning it anti-clockwise and getting less of the string buzz. However, I seem to have run out of road. The screw end bit is sticking out in such a way that the neck will not sit in the neck pocket. But I am still experiencing string buzz. The bridge is maxed out upwards. The guitar used to wear flatwounds, and I have now gone to 9s. I like to shake it up now and again. The neck is SUPER fat C shape. 26mm from the face of the fingerboard to the back of the neck. Do I just need to accept that something this chunky is going to need something heavier than 9s to provide a bit of fight to tame the neck? Or am I missing something here? TIA, as usual.
