  2. I agree large rubber feet would make it better
  3. I agree that would be awesome
  4. I use one at our practice room. We’re a 7 piece band and we practice with electric drums, guitars and keys into a PA. One of the guitarists uses an amp and the other has an active PA wedge. The volume is fairly controlled so the PF50 does very well. It has the matching 2x10 cab. I think I run it at about half volume with the gain also halfway up.
  5. Def not Freddie but could be Stanley, Larry or maybe someone else? Anyway Chuck Rainey played on the original studio recording if that helps at all.
  6. Up for grabs is a 3leaf Proton Mk4 in Icefall from February this year in mint condition. A pretty legendary and fairly unavailable envelope filter! Avoid the wait, shipping and colossal customs fees... Price includes UK special delivery.

  9. My final foray into modelling/digital rigs (for now)... this has been my favourite but that world is just not for me. Used for 3 shows and well looked after! Comes with a far tougher power supply (original included). Price includes UK shipping, collection welcome or I may well be coming near you! The only thing i'd consider in trade at the moment is an Ashdown CTM30 as i miss mine dearly!

  10. This lovely condition 2023 Aubergine Fender American Performer Mustang is up for sale/trade. It's been with me for a few months and is set up beautifully with 40-95 Elixirs (Fender use 40-100 as standard on these.) This Mustang plays like a dream and is in excellent condition with no scratches or dings that I can see. It has only been used for one set on one gig in our live tribute show, so it's not earning its keep and therefore has to go. Comes complete with bill of sale from original owner and the original Fender Deluxe Gig Bag & case candy. The American Performer Mustang is also another instrument in the line (since the Highway 1 series Jazz/Precision) which utilises the 'Grease Bucket' tone control, which lowers tone without losing bass/volume. Using both P&J pickups with the tone control dimed, it sounds like a hyper-jazz bass. Switch to the split coil and turn the tone down to about 70% & you get a very good traditional Mustang/Precision sound. Solo the bridge single coil, halve the tone and you're in burpy Jaco land. It's a very adaptable bass. I would record you a demo, but I'll let 'Nick Campbell Destroys' do the honours below - he does a much better job than me! For sale at £825. (Recommended retail price on these is now nearly £1400 these days!) Interesting trade options considered. Buyer to collect, or can meet half way at a distance of up to 100 miles (total distance of up to 200 miles from DE7.)

  11. Greetings from Sweden! A friend of mine happened to buy a Rickenfaker this weekend. Is it possible to determine a maker? He describes that the neck is good quality but tuners and pick guard are of the cheapest possible sort. (I haven't seen it my self). All the best!
  12. This is fantastic news, it's a really cool shape and pretty unique!
  13. Get this.... Awesome cab and all you'll ever need.
  14. Yesterday afternoon at the "Piv" in Nuneaton. It's our only gig this month due to the guitarist being off touring elsewhere. The Piv is a great social club that belongs to the allotment society, and has survived by having regular entertainment. As we were leaving our early evening gig in the lounge, people were arriving for ballroom dancing in the big room and others were setting up a poker night in the conservatory. I should really have taken some photos while the lights were on, but was a bit out of sorts after the guitarist's Mesa Boogie combo released the magic smoke! We think it might have been a dodgy socket it was plugged into - duly "sorted" by sticking some gaffer tape over it 😂. Anyway he luckily had the foresight to carry a spare amp with - and what a fabulous little amp it was. Switchable output up to 50W and sounded great plugged into the Mesa speakers I did ask him why he was still lugging the big heavy combo around! (The tablets are Vocalzones btw) The afterthought photo just about showing my Rumble and Stingish bass... Oh and you can also see my new Gravity lighting stands - the black ones. I've been wearing shorts since the spring but went back to jeans, which felt strange. Footwear were black DMs to match the rest of the garb
  15. Get A Haircut - George Thorogood
  16. Mwoa… those Vintera II pickups aren’t just “standard MiM” pickups. They’re a whole different beast, and built exactly like a blackbobbin. I even went as far as sourcing such a pickup for my latest P-assembly project, as it punches WELL above its weight. It even sounds better than the PV63 when it’s being used in a slightly overdriven setting.
  17. Two of my irrational prejudices right there...
  18. Jazz is the other band's, not mine.

  20. Our next gig is on Saturday 27the September in Manchester at Fuel The Music. We're supporting the excellent St Lucifer:
  21. Thanks mate. Just to stop people misusing it for nefarious reasons. Probably not really necessary on an old Musicmaster.
  22. Thats every redneck woman in the deep south. To make it more simple, their second first name is nearly always Lynn (Amber-Lynn, Tammy-Lynn, Christi-Lynn etc, etc). I believe there was a whole bit about this in the film Ted
  23. Black Is The Color Of My True Love’s Hair - Nina Simone
  24. Gonna part this out, make me an offer, I’ll probably say yes.
  25. Also getting the same issue across different power supplies. I was previously using one that gave me a lot of buzz when gigging so I recently switched to a Cioks PSU in the hope that would solve all my noise problem. It completely cleared up the buzz, but I'm still getting the pops. Haven't tried batteries on the pedals... that's not gonna be a sustainable solution but worth testing out just to see if it makes any difference. I'll test that later today.
