Hello, I'm selling this MXR Bass Compressor. It's in almost new condition, with the original box. I'm sure everyone knows what to expect with these now - a nice and natural sounding comp, that's easy to use, with great visual metering too. I'm asking £115, which includes next day delivery. Any questions, shoot me a message. Thanks.

Hello, Very cool little Boss modeller for sale. Sounds great but I'm just not a modelling guy, I'm admitting defeat. Boxed, also comes with additional Bright Onion switch. £350 delivered please. Would consider trades for bass gear - amps, basses (J flavoured), whatever... In good condition, a few scratches on the bottom as pictured. Album with lots of photos here: https://imgur.com/a/9pniK6g

I Have tried a few budget basses over the years including Harley Benton, J and D, Vintage , artist hybrid , Squier , Peavey, yamaha not yet tried the Budget Mark basses . thats probably next on my list to look at. all have been very good for the price point , i have actually gigged with these basses just to try them out and never had any issues with any of them if you go down the Fender copy route you can always upgrade the electronics etc if you feel the need as there are parts widely available.

so did you sack him just because of his drink driving? not very rock and roll

The bass player in one of my first funk bands in the late 70's had a fender jazz and a columbus copy, we used to do quite a bit of studio recordings back then and the producer/engineer always preferred the sound of his columbus. -

Not sure if anyone's mentioned them, but Italia were flavour of the month for about five minutes in the late 2000s. -

Yeah, another vote for keeping the thin pink line. This is coming together so nicely.

Well Ive had just about all of the Fender style P basses over the years and I'll end my days with my current CV 70 in walnut. Incredible build quality and playability and as with just about all of them, would benefit from a PU upgrade tho it doesn't bother me at all, but thats it.

We had to sack a guitarist because of a combination of serious substance-abuse problems (*), poorly cared-for gear (we never knew if it would work!) and erratic playing where sometimes he'd completely forget what he was meant to be playing, or launch into a loud and unrelated solo in the middle of a verse. After quite a while of tolerating this and attempting to get him to change his ways we saw nothing was changing and had to boot him out. He still doesn't understand what the problem was, despite having been told numerous times! * once we were playing in Manchester... About 30 minutes before we were due to go on there was no sign of him. I rushed out, and knowing what he was like, searched the nether-regions of Piccadilly station where I found him sniffing white powder with some ne'er do wells. He didn't play well either!

This is the earliest photo I have of me with a bass guitar - a Colombus Jazz with matt black strings. Bedroom Arena, 1986: The first time I played bass live. I'm hding on the left with the same Colombus bass as above. The band was 'Mr McHenry', 1992: 2024 Hullabaloo Festival playing with '50% Dave', the support act to my main band: Depping with 'The Gowertones' in July 2025: -

I recently got some Fender 9050L stainless steel flats, but got a dodgy ‘D’ string. I was sent a full replacement set even though I only needed one string (as all 4 come in the same packet). Instead of just replacing the faulty one, I decided to replace the entire set, even though the rest were nearly new, as I’d cut the originals slightly shorter than intended due to misreading my own notes! So I have 3 spares from the original set, which are only very lightly used, with the ‘D’ string missing. If the rest are of any use I’ll happily send them for free to a UK address: E .100 A .80 G .45 They are long scale, cut for 4 inline Precision bass tuners, and like I said cut slightly shorter than planned, but still a good one & a half wraps round tuning posts.

I do agree Tom, but without the original packaging, I'd be concerned about sending this out into courier world. I also much prefer potential buyers to confirm they are happy with the item in person before they purchase. However, if a buyer would be prepared to arrange collection by their preferred courier I could source appropriate packaging.

Or maybe I won’t 😎 I feel a “dusty end” root node walk coming on for the interlude
