  1. Past hour
  2. oops, sorry. I’ve already started on it, obviously…..
  3. Excellent Len, but please take that 'e' out of 'whisky' - it's from Skye, not Newtonards.
  4. When the Cort Space 5 came out, they were £50 cheaper than anywhere else.
  5. the wife “suprised” me with a hipshot detuner for my jazz. 🙂
  6. As regards V/B/T, I thought I should post a version of the wiring diagram that I worked from: This may be clearer: In this, the opposite ends of both tracks are cross-connected, rather than leaving one end floating as in the diagram in the OP.
  7. A new folding music stand. For practising, definitely not performing 😂 A nice plaid shirt, which will appear on stage with me some time soon. A bottle of Talisker malt whisky for inspiration.
  8. This one is almost new. Strings from factory still have life in them…plays like butter! Includes original case.

  9. It looks very much like the bigger rounded 70s style - which I much prefer aesthetically. Obvious it would be preferable not attached to a guitar …
  10. It'll be similar to mine, then. Mine's late 1990's and it's a beast.
  11. Ah well. One arrives courtesy of Mrs T and My folks next week, early 2000’s Korean made one.
  12. It's not for sale, but if you still need one I'm happy to lend it to you in the medium/long term.
  13. Espresso - Sabrina Carpenter
  14. Apparently it has a PCB the size of the whole interior, but the actual circuit is the same size as in small one, leaving a vast empty board which looks comically weird.
  15. Well done Skank, IBTL!!
  16. Mrs Zero had her hip replaced, and I was given a date for my hip replacement, so that's quite good, although we had to postpone our summer holiday by 12 months as a result.
  17. I also struggled to hear the difference between the three 'Voicing' settings. I can only imagine it is more noticeable on guitar. I also didn't much care for the 'Mode' settings. They all sounded kind of the same, except the original Jive setting, which had drive only in the last 5th of the travel of the gain knob. I love the original Jive, but this version disappointed me.
  18. Ooft. If only I’d known.
  19. My main regret about not playing guitar any more is that my Sheraton just lives under my bad, waiting.
  20. That’s a looker! nobody has mentioned overwater yet but they make fantastic Jazzes and mine was only £500 more than a Fender artist series but I got a lot more custom options (flame top, matching headstock, ebony board)
  21. Maybe this should become a BC tradition - everyone with an Elf gets a turn at putting it somewhere odd in December and posts a picture. Hang on, this is BC - visits to A+E would become commonplace, so maybe scratch that idea!
  22. I put the East pre in as the fender one was so average. The East is such a great addition.
  23. It was Peach Guitars in Colchester. Not a dedicated bass store obviously, but a good selection and great staff.
  24. Today
  25. I've done quite a few high level amateur theatre productions. The exact arrangements have varied from show to show, but the most common setup is that the MD is positioned so that they can see the stage and see what's going on. The cast can also obviously see the MD too, and there's usually also a large TV screen somewhere visible from the stage so that everyone on stage can easily see the MD. The band normally have in ears, and each person gets a mini mixer so they can configure their own mix as they want. The MD normally has a talkback mic so that they can let the band know when the cue is coming up. In general, the tunes are played as written, but there will often be vamp sections which are open repeats to cover stuff happening on stage which might take longer than expected. These are agreed with the band during the band call/dress rehearsal. Sometimes there's click tracks too - if stuff goes wrong while there's a click track happening things can get... interesting!
