SimonK started following Bass on a train!
-
As a regular train traveller I've found the limiting factor is more what I can carry/cart around. Even on a busy train you can just stand in one of the bike areas with your luggage if there are no spare seats to stack it on.
-
Great for home recording or podcast. Fostex PMO.3 powered monitors. With separate Fostex PC1 volume control. Great little monitors. The power unit has recently been repaired, and they’re good to go. T.Bone SC400 condenser mic, boxed and unused with cradle. Studiospares mic isolator cube. Clever little thing. Never used. I'll throw in a mic stand too if you want it. All packed in a neat wheeled suitcase with extending handle. £100 collected, or delivered/meet up round Bath/Bristol area.

Do You pay him for that ?

No room for cucumbers or baguettes because of the armadillo in my trousers. It's really quite frightening!

No, it wasn´t him. I found out it was Marcus Weymaere. Don´t know if he did the gig as a short term replacement or whatsoever. But he has been doing a great job.

And manage to remain so once you’ve caught the subtle whiff of sweaty pants on your food

If you can't hide it, make a feature of it. Bruce Foxton looked extremely cool in his blue tint glasses......😎🤘🤘

neepheid started following Squier Jaguar H - modified
-
Squier Jaguar H bass - medium (32") scale. Modified with an Ibanez pickup out of an ATK800 (quad coil), switch added for series/single/parallel switching. Fender high mass bridge. Black pickguard, original white one will be provided. You can even have the stock pickup if you want, but the Ibanez pickup sounds so much better. Great wee bass in excellent condition, only a few very minor dings. Modified to sound way better than stock and much more flexible/useable. Selling at the price a stock one would, because I'm lazy and I know that mods are basically worthless in the market. But don't take the mick - no offers please. Would love a local-ish sale (Aberdeen), but can box it up and ship it at buyer's expense.

⭐Supporting Member⭐ 2.6k This is a traditional Laney 15", 100 Watts combo. First the bad news: No light weight speaker, no Class D amplifier, so it comes in as 30Kg (and is quite big). (But slightly lighter than the Marshall B150 that I am listing) It has a gouge in the tolex near the left hand side handle. Apart from that if it is all positive. This is fully functional (just checked it) and would be ideal for "fixed" installation such as a studio or practice room, as a fixed backline in a pub or something, or for a younger man than I now am!. Not used this much and only bought it (rashly) because it was available This is actually quite a different beast to the Marshall B150 that I am also listing (separate thread). Amp is 100 Watts into 4 ohms. Amp has socket for additional speaker, so possibly internal speaker is 8 ohm. I'm not sure. Ported Cabinet. All solid state (no valve preamp) Remotely selectable Pre Shape. NO Classic Bass & Treble controls, but ... Remotely selectable 10 Band Graphic EQ with in/out volume adjustment. Dual band (?) compressor Switchable limiter Switchable noise gate Manual, such as it is, attached. Due to its weight: COLLECTION ONLY, but that gives you the chance to try it out. NOTE THAT: As part of the clear out I am/will soon be listing: Marshall Bass state B150 15" combo. Behringer BEQ3012 two channel 32 band equaliser with feedback detection. 4u ABS flight case Two Shermann PA cabinets (15" + 6" + tweeter). Seriously professional bits of kit. 12 + 4 15m Snake cable/box 12 + 4 25m Snake cable/box Behringer FBQ6200 32 band, 2 channel equaliser with feedback detection. Large base tall lighting stand Various LED lighting units & controllers Ibanez SR505 Bass. DP100, DP150, DP300.pdf

I have only two basses and both go out with me. They are tools and I want to sound the very best I can be.

Yes, but you might want to offer something over and above your basic statutory responsibilities.

Do you use IEMs? What about an audio cue solution, rather than a visual one?

RAY AGAINST THE MACHINE started following Fortissimo cheap Stratocaster copy

I purchased this ages ago, with the notion of learning a guitar lick or two for my GarageBand masterpieces 😬😂. It’s gathering dust ,and basically being ignored. I stick to my basses and synths these days, realising I’m too ham fisted and impatient to be bothering with this anymore in the ltd time I have used it . It has a mark on the back of the neck , which wasn’t an issue . I do have the whammy bar and tuner which I will obviously include. Collection only please if interested.

police squad started following Do you use your “best” bass on gigs?
-
I've always gigged them all, even my '59 Les Paul jr got a good thrashing in the pub But I'm playing cheaper instruments these days, my two Warwick Adam Clayton basses were 2nd hand and not that expensive I have a 4003 made by HW incoming and can't wait to try it in the Jam tribute but it was cheaper than any 2nd hand Rick I could find

Right. I’ve said it before and now I mean it. No more 5 strings! Something shiny takes my fancy and it never works out for me so my very sexy metallic green Sire must go. Bought off of the wonderful @lee650 last year. It’s near mint. Plays beautifully and not been gigged by me. there’s no hardcase but it does have a bag and I can ship or deliver. £450 all in. Treat yourself!

This is a traditional Marshall 15", 150 Watts combo. This is the earlier British built B150, not the later foreign built MB150 First the bad news: No light weight speaker, no Class D amplifier, so it comes in as 35Kg (and is quite big). Exterior is a bit battered, but nothing major. Apart from that if it is all positive. This is fully functional (just checked it) and would be ideal for "fixed" installation such as a studio or practice room, as a fixed backline in a pub or something, or for a younger man than I now am!. This served me well as my main stage amp for many years, and was the first time I experienced actual trouser flapping! Sealed cabinet which has since been stuffed (by me) with wadding. Side handles were added by me due to the weight. 150 (Marshall) Watts as it stands, with no possibility for extension cabs. To me the main feature of this combo is that it has a real valve pre-amp, which makes a really noticable difference to the tone - so much so that the blend knob (between valve & SS) is actually useful. Not like some modern units with valve pre amps that seem to make bugger all difference. Inputs for Active & Passive basses. SS/Valve Blend control Bass and treble controls 7 Band Graphic EQ Deep and Bright Buttons Switchable limiter In-built compressor NO remote control possibillities however. Attached manual details the controls. Note that the original handle has one of its end covers missing. Due to its weight: COLLECTION ONLY, but that gives you the chance to try it out. NOTE THAT: As part of the clear out I will soon be listing: Laney 100W 15" combo. Behringer BEQ3012 two channel 32 band equaliser with feedback detection. Two Shermann PA cabinets (15" + 6" + tweeter). Seriously professional bits of kit. 12 + 4 15m Snake cable/box 12 + 4 25m Snake cable/box Behringer FBQ6200 32 band, 2 channel equaliser with feedback detection. On the general issue of age etc. My ears are so bad now I struggle to deal with any loud noise even with ear plugs. And more generally just the whole thing of gigging, the effort needed, the hanging about... even the playing to a degree. I suppose for some of us the whole thing just looses what it had when we were younger. Pity.
