  6. For anyone who's had or knows, what is the difference in tone between the Aguilar Tone Hammer heads and the Mark Bass Little Mark heads? I currently use a Little Mark IV and I generally find it clean, punchy, fairly versatile if perhaps a little sterile. I do like it though and have been happy with it if not perhaps finding it a little underwhelming. Lets say it does a solid job without too much fanfare. I recently played two of my basses through an Aguilar Tone Hammer 350 and I was pleasantly surprised at how clean and dynamic my basses sounded. They had a lot of sparkle and definition, and one bass in particular, a passive Fender PJ with fretless Status graphite neck and flats really came alive. I'd read previously, comments saying that a graphite neck can really show up poor technique or be quite noisy as it's very clean and accurate but I'd never found this in the past until I played through the Aquilar head. I had to really focus on my technique but what I was rewarded with was a gorgeous tone that just sung. Both basses which are fretless sung beautifully. My understanding was the Tone Hammer heads are generally warm sounding but the head I played through was super clean, punchy and sparkly. The head was connected to an Eich 1x10 so that may have also played a factor in the clean tone but either way, the tone was quite special and its piped my interest. So I'm interested if anyone can comment on comparisons between the Aguilar Tone Hammer heads and the Mark Bass Little Mark heads.
  7. I've owned this Jaguar for about ten years and feel like I'm due for something new. It plays and sound brilliantly, looks fantastic. It has a few wear and tear marks on the body and headstock (see pics) but nothing major. Comes with Fender gig bag. Not looking for trades but a straightforward sale. I'm in London but can post to anywhere suitable. Let me know if you have any queries!
  8. Back for sale after timewaster messed me about - reason for return, i didn't mention the 3/1000th of an inch off the frets when levelled and crowned - a newbie that didnt know why fret jobs are done - was worried why it was done on a new guitar - so i explain why and luthier also offered to talk to him- kinda like taking a car back to the showroom as you'd included top spec instead of factory spec - anyways you people on here will appreciate a lovely neck finish - i think he just didnt know what he wants - good luck getting a cheaper bass with lovely fret ends - ah well we live and learn. For sale lovely birch green Fender player 2 i bought early this year and have recently been using this or P bass to see what fits what i'm doing and the P bass has won - for that middy growl. Have bought a Squire CV Jag as back up - so now this faces being an occasional bass and it's a great player, so should be someones to use. Made in Mexico these are now really good little basses. Great QC Had luthier sort the frets, which he levelled , crowned (they were flat from factory!) and ran glue under each to make sure they pinged and bevelled off the slightly rough edges, basically your getting a Plex job but done by the hands of someone with 40 years experience. So now with the rolled edge finger board, satin finish, it is great to play. Dark rosewood board, with maple neck, the body colour looks even better IRL. Weighs about 8.5lb but balances great. So lightweight and versatile. Strung with new Ernie Ball Super Slinky 40-100 - very nice action. Very useable pickups. Comfortable bridge for palm muting. Priced to sell - collect from Clitheroe or meet up or can post to UK in box for £20 - if i post there's no returns - it's a lovely bass and sure you'll be happy unless you're not all there like last buyer

  11. One Day I'll Fly Away - Randy Crawford
  12. I wouldn't disagree that it seems like a random scratch (as opposed to factory) BUT the very fact the bass is 'aged' I can't see that you'd ever manage to claim it was / wasn't part of the process!
  13. So these arrived in the post this morning. ACS Engage Classic custom moulded IEMs. Tried them for fit and they’re perfect. Will try them with my bass later today, but no chance to try them in anger until the new year.
  14. Perfect for those who have had to move to lightweight cabs--- a lightweight bass!

  16. Unopened, still have the cellophane wrappers. This is a 5-string set and commonly used as replacements for 40DCs in Spectors to get that PJ sound. The 40P has a reverse P inside and the 40J has a single coil J in there. I have a Euro 5 LX with the same and prefer it to a pair of DCs. I can't see myself buying another 5 anytime soon, so these need to go.
  17. Hey guys, Bought this brand new a few months ago as a back up. I have only tested it, its never been used at a rehearsal or on a gig. Needing to raise funds for some new 'in ears' so decided to let this little fella go. These are brilliant little amps if dont already know, packs a punch. As new condition, not a mark on it. £190 posted or collection from Swindon. Thanks
  18. To be fair again, they're also a business and while I can see the O/Ps point of view - that's an ugly bass - if they keep picking up the cost of returns on that basis they will make a loss on the sale. Personally if I were the OP I'd either suck up the cost of the return and ask for photos of the replacement, or travel in person to the store, which may or may not be possible.

  20. I'm still really tempted by this.
  21. Nice!
  22. This pic I took captures the colour better. also…my perfect 3 bass setup 😍
  23. Great condition, comes with Velcro. Collection in London or shipment at buyer’s expense.
  24. To be fair to Guitar Guitar, they do offer that on certain instruments too.
  25. Hi, I very recently bought a Sandberg Florence bass on Reverb. It has what is referred to on the Sandberg website as a "soft aged" finish. The body has what I was expecting, which is small dents and dings on front, back and sides. However, (as per the photo) there is also a 6-7cm long curved scratch close to the tone control. It looks to me a bit like damage done after it left the factory, rather than a deliberately manufactured flaw in the finish. I queried with the seller but they're insisting it's part of the aged finish. I've also emailed Sandberg, but I've not so far had any response. Can anyone else with a Sandberg that has an aged finish tell me if scratches like this are typical for a new bass?
