  1. Past hour
  2. The main problem with this is the tuners stick out beyond the strap buttons.
  3. It doesn't say it's Graphite.
  4. More work last night and tonight: - Re-installed the bias board more securely (bolts have nyloc nuts); - Added the feeds from the PI to the 6L6 control grids, as well as the negative bias supplies (all of them brown/blue wires); - Connected the AC (orange) and ground (black) to the bias board; - Installed the NFB connection and corresponding ground reference (green/black wires).
  5. Honestly, I didn't seriously consider them as the adverts I saw of them were all on cables, and I wanted to make my own, especially as some of my board cables are XLR to TS. When I saw these little beauties, intrigued by the hinge design, I knew I had to try them.😁 Thanks, a design like this obviously isn't for most folks (including probably every full-time professional) who have multiple pedals and/or very pro setups, but I'm focusing on speed of setup and connectivity. I'm also wary power cables can get kicked about on the stages I go on, with my feet, multiple bands etc. Will see how it goes and whether I reintroduce power and audio cables back in.
  6. I was commenting on your avatar! 🙂
  7. Thanks! It's a nice combo with some heft to the tone. If it was practical for me to have multiple rigs, I'd keep hold of it.
  8. The Sterling swap is still on offer, and am relatively local...
  9. Got another: clip on tuners on stage. Feel free to use them all round the house, but they should never be seen on stage. Even band practice is pushing it.
  10. it gets marks for looks , name , etc cosmetic style I buy that without hearing possibly
  11. Might be worth fitting a new pre amp valve ? The EQ that affects the signal the most is the Low .. boost that and the needle should be hard into the red at times if the gain is around 1pm to 3pm and you play firmly finger style and more do if a pick player
  12. so spent a lot of time with this pedal the last 6 weeks used it with 7 different basses and it's interesting the chorus is good but not great I was surprised by how much I like the reverb ( reverb seems counterintuitive for bass) the para eq is very good , the business, very well thought through thanks to @Hellzero to have a go at it they should have called it something other than the Fretless maybe I see these are pricy but worth a go if you can try before buy FKT also make an Octaver Pedal which looks mean
  13. Alone again or - Love
  14. Yes it's a standard MM shape. If you have measurements from the neck heel of your Sire, I can let you know about fit. Thanks to @Raslee for securg the first slot.
  15. Almost 4 months in and I am still utterly besotted with this beauty. I genuinely think it’s the best bass I’ve ever owned and so perfect for me in every way. I am finding myself wanting to play more than I’ve done for a while, and I reckon it’s making me a better player. (So, still shit, but slightly less shit ) I’ve got 4 other wonderful custom basses and I always felt they all had their place in my various projects but there’s part of me which feels this can cover everything except the pop/punk band, and that’s only because the band leader is a prude and only wants a Fender or Fender copy…
  16. The One And Only - Chesney Hawkes
  17. To paraphrase Sir Bob: You gaze into the doorway Of temptation's angry flame And every time you pass that way You'll always hear your name... (and I could be in Manchester some time soon...)
  18. eBay, I think. I measured the distance between the strap button and the top of the bass, then from that edge to the bridge. I think it was for a guitar, but it works perfectly...
  19. I think you are right. I’m such a silly goose…….I have changed the advert. I think they are big singles.
  20. the really unhelpful answer is : Free The Tone Bass Blaster but yeah it's the shit
  21. 100% original when half the parts have been changed!
  22. Oasis. What a pair of unspeakable twàts.
