  3. Maybe, it’s currently fighting for it’s life against the Anagram
  4. Yeah that’s the video that convinced me to buy it.

  6. @pantherairsoft afraid not, it’s very much a keeper. I highly recommend it, bit of a learning curve but very capable fuzz/synth. It’s in a couple of my videos on YouTube, mainly just 1 squelchy fuzz I use a fair bit, but it’s killer with an Octaver. I think you’d really enjoy it.

  10. Wow that's an early one. My (fretted) serial number is 4081 and that's 1980 too. Sorry to hear you're disillusioned with playing. Good luck with the sale Edit: just realised there's a "1" on the walnut strip, so not quite so early. Still a lovely bass though!
  11. I'm looking to replace the tuners on my ~1980 Yamaha Pulser 400, as the current ones are quite heavy and have a rattle/buzz I can't get rid of. It's a pretty faithful replica of a '72-73 Precision with the big trapezoidal tuners - I ordered some Hipshot 1/2" Ultralites but they were too small and the keys looked hilariously stubby. The Gotoh GB640's seem like they'd fit correctly minus the screw holes (they have the hexagonal 50s-60s plates), but are only available in nickel instead of the '70s chrome. Anyone have experience swapping tuners on a Pulser or actual '70s Fender? And how out of place would nickel Gotohs look on a '70s bass if those are my only option?

  18. We'll be issuing everyone with a sticker like this. Just put your Basschat username/real name on it. This will allow you exit/access.
  19. This looks gorgeous.. Out of curiosity, what’s the string spacing at the bridge?
  20. While Martin is known mostly for being in Eastenders and Gogglebox, he also played a bit of bass in the 80s. But he is currently touring his DJ set. Hurting a few fingers but still being able to press a few buttons on his laptop surely gains some kudos amongst the millenials?

  22. A dozy thing to do but ordinarily one would not come completely undone picking up a chainsaw by the 'blade' You might slice a couple of fingers on the points when it got away away on you but the blade is stationary until you gun it. I am calling BS on the whole thing. It would be a superhuman effort to grasp the chainbar ahead of the drive motor and lift. Like trying to pick up a bass horizontal from the 3rd fret. There is a front handle for that. One handing the saw while operating and using other hand to muck about with the wood and oops/AAAAAAARRRRGGG!!!!!. That I can buy.
  23. Home In My Hand - Foghat
  24. So, how do we identify ourselves? Do we wear lanyards with both our pseudonym and our real name on it? Do we have a cut-out of our basschat icon, worn as a mask - and then remove them when the organising committee start to play the basschat theme song? Uncannily, my real name is not bass_dinger, and I only spoke with Prowla and Hamster two years ago - so, I am wondering how I will make myself known as Robert.
