  7. I went through a bunch of different dirt pedals in a quest to find one I liked, including guitar pedals as well as bass-specific pedals. I ended up with the boss BB-1X bass driver.
  8. Each to their own, I'm not hating on it. it's just that whole generic indie scene of the late '80's was not my cup of tea musically. Most of just sounded like a racket to me. Still does now. I have always been out of step with fashion when it comes to what music I like, though, going back as far as I can remember. That said, I've got some great memories of those days, including going to to gigs by bands like Fudge Tunnel, Silverfish,Galaxy 500 et al with various indie chicks and pretending to enjoy myself. There were some very notable exceptions though, like Curve who I went to see at their first few gigs and who had something very special from the beginning. Only one bass player, but a very, very good one.
  9. Epica and Amaranth, with Charlotte Wessels at the Ziggo Dome, Amsterdam next Saturday (Feb 7th).
  10. Deadbolt Will sometimes use two or even three basses
  11. They're a good bunch of lads. Their songs suggest they have a keen interest in wild mushrooms commonly found on the Quantock hills (so i hear). Are you in a local metal band as well.
  12. There was a US made 50th anniversary jazz bass in 2010 that looks very similar to this one. I wonder if that's why they released this in 2010 to coincide with the 50th anniversary
  13. Serek Midwestern 2 for sale, very good condition. Dark star pickups, light in weight, with Serek gigbag included. £2400 collected from Newcastle.

  14. I’ve heard of Gnome and most definitely heard of Nomad Lizard as I mixed them at a metal night in Taunton back in November i think. They had a serious groove about them 🤘🏻
  15. Can’t still be for sale surely?
  16. Hey folks. I'm selling this lovely rig! Sounds heavenly and the cab has never been gigged which means it's in nearly mint condition. The amp is a little worn but works perfectly and sounds wicked through the 210 with both active and passive basses. Vanderkley 210MNT £650 (comes with non original cover) Markbass Little Mark Tube £350 (comes with vanderkley spartan bag) Would ideally sell them together in which case buyer gets a FREE Tsunami speakon cable! Message me for more pictures and for any questions. Cheers
  17. Hi, What a great bass, how much does it weigh? Cheers Mike G.
  18. I suspect you are right. The spring tag on the cheapo one feels horrid, the Neutrik feels far nicer. I suspect @Chienmortbb might be getting another order soon.
  19. Since you are based in Bingley maybe you should use Fanes, a West Yorks speaker It's quite possible to use a ready made cab as the basis for a new cab if you don't want to go to the trouble of building yourself. I'd think of it as giving you the fun of having a unique cab rather than an upgrade though. The problem is that you won't have the free choice of any driver you want as not all drivers will give their best in that cab, each driver has a cab size and tuning that will work best with it and cab design is about choosing the right driver for the outcome you want and then designing the ideal cab to match. Choosing to go for an 8ohm cab is limiting as many 10" speakers aren't widely available in 4 or 16 ohms, finding ones that also match that cab is even more limiting so it's likely you won't have a lot of choice. Even the idea of 'best' and 'upgrade' are tricky. Which aspect of your speaker's performance do you want to improve? Is it power handling, overall volume, extended bass, general tone, weight and portability? However the cab is likely to be better finished than most of us can achieve by a home build and it could be a lot of fun. The outcome could be a cab you love and you can always refit the old speakers if you aren't happy with the changes and you can probably get half your money back on the replacement drivers by selling them on. You do need to think of cost though, the Kappalites mentioned above are now £170ea. If you think the risk is worth it and see it as a fun project there are plenty of BassChatters who will help with technical advice, so perhaps start with deciding upon a budget and by identifying what aspects of your speaker you want to change/improve.
  20. Not sure what is going on but I have had problems with speakon copy plugs. Genuine Neutrik plugs & sockets work perfectly.
  21. Hi! How much for the bas? With regards Joel
  22. As I've said in previous build threads, get your MGCS Basses orders in soon. He's not only getting a bit good at this bass-making game, but every example I've played so far turns out to be much more than the sum of it's parts. There's nothing to apologize for here, just a great sounding and playing bass. And don't forget, if you've been toying with the idea of one of @Kiwi's AUROK™️ Graphite Necks, go for it. They're great!
  23. I'm happy with that decision m'lud.
  24. Thank you, yes it's a lovely bass
