Mismatched top, would this bother you? Cort space 4

Only got it yesterday afternoon, told them this morning I wanted to return it. -
Well, if that cheapo really is 7lbs dead with the neck and standard tuners (and if it isn't it's going straight back) then I guess I've got some wiggle room with the neck weight, as it's unlikely a cheapo neck'll be very light, and I'll be fitting Ultralites or somesuch anyway...I note Gotoh do Res-O-Lite cloverleaf tuners (the GRL510C-9) which are almost HALF the weight of Ultralites (36g!), but I can't find them in the UK.

I did ask them to do that, but they said it wasn't possible which is strange as they state if a return is found not to be faulty then they may deduct £9.99 from the refund to cover the return so clearly, they get much better rates with DPD than I can, but say they can't do it in this case. -

How was your open mic or jam night last night?
p4ul replied to tauzero's topic in General Discussion
After years of avoiding open mics like the very plague I now go to 3 on a semi regular basis. Open mic in a pub - sign up sheets, collabs, solo performers, improv jam session, some times a bit over run with Ukuleles, but other times steel pan, and other odd instrument players arrive to change up the vibes, it is generally great. Afrobeat Jam in a record shop - House band invite players to join them for improv jams, no sign up sheet, no Ukuleles yet. Got to have some chops to keep up with the HB but welcoming and good vibes, musically interesting. Jazz Jam in a pub - House band plays then just leaves, cue desperate musos fighting each other for a spot then proceed to make a collection of independent "jazz" solos dominated by the drum solo, more of a sonic jumble sale than a jam imho, I might go back when I grow a new ego. Disorganisation aside it was ok perhaps I arrived on a full moon. -
Grooverjr started following How to get this specific bass sound - help please
-
There's a really lovely roundedness and fullness to the bass sound on this track and I have no idea how to go about getting it. I assume there's compression involved but what else is there? I have a Roland VB99 so I should be able to recreate most things but I don't have mush experience with how different noise makers work. So, over to the BC collective genius to hopefully help me out. It's a great bassline as well, simple but really effective.
-
Flatten it first, and go gently as the paint flakes really easily

I don't think it's cheating at all - better living through technology as far as I'm concerned. 6 or 7 songs get shifted +/- 3 semitones. I also use it for octave up blend for a bit of "fake guitar" action (pitch shift up + overdrive) on a couple of songs because we've only got a single guitarist.

It does seem odd that they wouldn't at least organise a courier and deduct the cost from your refund. They must know that they get cheaper rates. Maybe try asking if they can do that? -

It is, but they don't have to cover returns costs if it's unwanted. In this case they're saying there's no defect..... if defective they would be obliged to cover return postage. Tricky one -

I read somewhere that the output volume of the DI on the Rumble 100 changes when changing the master volume level of the amp. And that it doesn't happen on the 500. Is this the case @Japhet, @casapete? I can't remember where I read this but it could be handy info if weighing up options.

I certainly will Michael 👍

I still have a 63 Hofner Verythin that I picked up 30 years ago for a song, plays lovely, bit battered and not all OG but the neck is a joy until you hit the dusty end of the dusty end, sounds great and light as a feather. Way nicer than the recent VT offering imho. Admittedly, does not get played as much as it should, rocked it in the 90's in a grunge outfit, and sounded great in a stones trib band, but she is a very old lady now and a bit fragile for pub gigs 🙂 *waits for Behringer to re-issue for £9.50

How was your open mic or jam night last night?
tauzero replied to tauzero's topic in General Discussion
On the subject of "words of one song to the tune of another", last night at the Cavern in Tamworth had the house band (really excellent drummer and guitarist, and me on bass bringing the quality down) backing various singers - one did "Billie Jean" to the tune of "Smells like teen spirit". -

Surely it qualifies under distance selling regulations? -
Hello everybody! I am a proud owner of an Akai Deep Impact since 1999 and I just got a FI4. Is it possible to trigger the FI4's synth sounds with a MIDI keyboard while in bass mode? I plan to use the FI4 in bass mode (replacing the Akai DI in my pedalboard) but I'd like to use a keyboard for a song; it would be very handy to have a MIDI keyboard connected to the FI4 MIDI IN and play without having to go to the pedal's global menu between songs. Thank you!

That’s a disappointing response, maybe point them towards this thread where experienced bass players are mostly in agreement that it’s not acceptable , really hope you can get this sorted -
Recently bought this on here, but something has come up so I’m looking at moving it on. Really fantastic bass - amazing sounding Delano Jazzbucker pickups each with separate coil tap (single coil/series/parallel), 2B Delano preamp - treble cut works as a passive tone control in both active & passive modes making this an incredibly versatile bass. The build quality is incredibly high, and it’s in excellent condition with just the odd bit of marking on the finish from general playing stopping it still being ‘brand new’. Comes in Maruszczyk branded padded Gigbag, UK Shipping available for £20 (will be very well packed & boxed) Price is £795 - May well be withdrawn but if it’s up it’s available - you won’t get a bass this good for this money elsewhere IMO Original advert is included below 👇 I’ve used the pics from it and added a couple more Video of this bass from Maruszczyk when new 👇

And CPC have delivered some stuff. As Phil has already suggested, it neatly fits. The middle of the grille is raised (or the edges are lowered), I'll have a look and work out what to do here. Cut and flatten or flatten and cut? As the weather is miserable, no painting today. But I have worked out how to integrate the rubber feet into the corner clamps and to allow two of these cabs to be on top of each other. Not sure that's a sensible idea, but the option is there. Rob

I don’t know how many days you have had it , but as I say that is unacceptable on so many levels ..especially the attitude! I don’t know how long you have left to return it , but take it up with your credit/ debit card …and then crucify them on the sites I have mentioned right away !
