  1. Past hour
  2. I was looking at this pedal more like a functional tool rather than a box that makes sounds.
  3. Yes. Some pedals come with a dose of regret or a realisation that you don't really need one (mostly synth pedals), but some are pretty essential.
  4. Here comes the question which I'm sure you'll have anticipated - isn't the wireless connection good enough, or is there some other reason for not using it?
  5. Mint condition Orange LBT 500w amp with Orange carry bag and mains cable Superb sounding amp with lovely optical compressor making it feel very tube like. Loud 500w head Price includes UK shipping

  6. As with many people, I have a load of 'rolls of stuff' that are a pain to keep on. e.g. copper tape or foam adhesive tape. Both comes on a cardboard roll but that has no sides and it falls out (or at least it does for me). So I had a think about it and have come up with this parameterised solution in Fusion 360. The nice bit is this reel comes apart and has a simple screw thread to screw together afterwards. As it's parameterised, everything is adjustable. So the above is 120mm for the reel size, the internal hub size is 75mm (which fits my copper tape rolls) and is 11mm between the reel sides. The copper tape is 10mm so a little bit of a gap. The screw thread automatically adjusts as well, which is great. Here's a larger version that just has the parameters changed. I'll try and upload the Fusion 360 file Rob
  7. Thanks, very kind of you to say so. I'm not sure yet about samples as I need to work out what I have that I can record with. Secondly I would need written commitment that you wouldn't all point and laugh 😞
  8. Many thanks to all for your advice and recommendations.....what a great place the Basschat forum is.. Please keep your comments coming. Cheers, Woody
  9. Our work here is done.
  10. You guys have convinced me I will order one
  11. I know this is a very late reply but incase anyone reads this and is thinking about one. I had in the early 90s (got it in 93 I think and traded it around 2000) RBX1000 which was the top of the RBX range. It was a very good bass, very light and I thought the range of sounds I got out of it was great. Only thing I would say that let it down was the electronics and I used very early outboard Sadowsky preamp with it which made it sound fantastic. I have often thought about tracking one of these down for the sake of it but I only play 5 strings last 25 years so I would probably never touch it.
  12. Absolutely perfect, it is a great pedal for a band setting. I wouldn't record a drop D bass downtuned by 3 semitones, but in a band it is not an issue. It is really good when you are doing a song and the singer wants to knock it down a couple of semitones. There are some songs that it is easy enough on a 5 string, but if it is a song in drop D (like most of the metal songs), it is a pain without this.
  13. Could you put him in touch with me please. Cheers, Woody
  14. Yes, it's the best performing pitch shifter I have ever tried, and I've owned 3. It copes admirably in a band setting - I use mine all the time. Not only for those requests to play a song in a different key, but I also use the octave up blended in with overdrive for a bit of "fake guitar" action sometimes. I've pushed it as low as -3 live and it's been decent, eminently useable.
  15. Now the build is complete I am thinking of selling the bass (my enjoyment comes from the process not the end product) How would one go about valuing such an instrument?
  16. Still in cat 1. I will try harder next year for a proper fail, those basic ‘Rays look interesting.
  17. Very curious about the XS-1 pedal. Mostly to just change key, up or down 1-2 steps and nothing more than that. How are you guys finding it? I does it cope in a band setting?
  18. That looks lovely. Are you going to put some sound samples up?
  19. I've got a set of HotRod Nightrain P+J handwound, UK made pickups by Eternal Guitars. This pair is meant to recreate the Duff McKagan tone from the classic GnR era. It's an Eternal Thumper P pickup and an Eternal '84 J. These are very rock-oriented pickups and sound huge. I'm selling because all I seem to have is really hot pickups in everything. I'm replacing these with more vintage, much less hot pickups. These currently sell for £255. They're not sold as a Nightrain these days but you can buy them individually: https://www.eternal-guitars.com/product-page/jb-84-jazz-bass-pickup https://www.eternal-guitars.com/product-page/pb-thumper-precision-bass-pickup The original design of these pickups was done by Andy at Wizard pickups who sold his designs and equipment to Eternal.
  20. Bargain! Christmas present for some lucky person!
  21. If you're just dipping your toe in, get a 434! At least you'll find out if you like the looks and the general ergonomics.
  22. Perhaps some kind Basschatter, local to your area could drop in to see you (or you to them) ,for advice and set-up? Just a thought, as people on here are so helpful. Best of luck with it.
  23. I know someone selling this... It’ll need an offer. Gary is spot on with that price range.
  24. Great bit of kit this and I love mine. You won't be disappointed if you're after some EQ, Gain and Compression. GLWTS lapolpora

  26. Been looking at the BBP34 too as a ‘nice PJ’ but just wondering if it’s gas or if I should really check one out. That or a 434
