Asked to comment on a famous photograph of himself and Geldof together prior to Live Aid, Ant tells Uncut magazine, “That was when I was asked by Sir Bob to promote this concert. They had no idea they could sell it out. Then in Bob’s book he said, ‘Adam was over the hill so I let him have one number.’ One thing I’d like to do (in the photo) is kick him up the a**e. “Doing that show was the biggest f**king mistake in the world. Knighthoods were made, Bono got it made, and it was a waste of f**king time. It was the end of rock ‘n’ roll, now hippies run the world, like f**king (British festival) Glastonbury… I hate hippies.”

I've enjoyed listening to the rerun on the radio. I was 6 at the time, I do remember watching it though. Highlights so far are The Who, Simple Minds, Bowie, Ultravox, U2 and Sting with Branford Marsalis.

I knew what this would be as soon as I finished reading the thread - either an NS2000 or a Q4. Sellers never seem to know what these basses are!

MarkBass Little Mark IV and MB58R 102P cabs

I think you’ll be absolutely fine with that head and cab for all the live situations you described. It’ll have plenty of volume 👍 -
Was 40 years ago today...doesn't feel like it!!

Nice and good choice. Remember to post pictures when you get everything up and running.

Graphiteneckchat - calling all graphite neck enthusiasts!
Wolverinebass replied to Kiwi's topic in General Discussion
I think that most people will go for the Fender replacement, even though, Klos do a decent one. I have one. If I could get a neck made to the exact spec I wanted that would be it. The main sticking point is that everyone tends to do less than 42mm nut width. Modulus wouldn't even entertain doing anything other than 40mm. Neither does Geoff Gould or Bogart. To me, it's full custom the whole way. -

Having finished gigging nearly two years ago and selling off all my gear ( mistake number 1 ) I went back to playing guitar ( mistake number 2 ) Jammed with old band buddies and playing guitar I always felt I should be playing bass ! So a decision was made and a new Fender PBass Player II series, and MarkBass rig was put on order and arrives Tuesday ! My guitar stuff is up for sale ( haven’t got room at home for both nor the funds ) so I’m happy to say I’m a bass player again 😃

NBD: Fender Player ii Modified Active Precision in Metallic Forest Green
Linus27 replied to Linus27's topic in Bass Guitars
Yes, passive is an option by flicking the small switch. In passive mode, you only get volume, pickup pan and tone. In active mode, you get volume, pickup pan, tone, mids, bass and treble. -

Nice bass, really nice dark fretboard and am assuming passive is also an option. -
With a very heavy heart, up for sale is my 2007 Rickenbacker 4003 in Blue Burst. She comes with the original case and cloth, Original Strap Pins, Ricky Sounds Stereo-Rama and cables, matching strap. The bass is in lovely condition, just a few chips on the head as pictured. The case however is a little damaged also pictured, but still very useable. This is the fourth 4003 I have owned and easily the nicest. Those that are observant will notice the strap positioning on the top horn has been relocated to the inside of the body, this was done by the previous owner, but I have found it a slight improvement regarding balance compared with my previous Rickys, but horses for courses I guess. UK sale only, might consider using a courier, at your expense, assuming I can obtain some decent packaging. But would prefer a pick up from me, Coffee and biscuits will be happily provided - please note full courier insurance won’t be cheap. Some (hopefully) helpful specs: Body: Maple Neck: Rosewood Controls: Volume, Volume,Tone, Tone (Push/Pull Vintage) String Spacing: 18mm Nut Width: 43mm Weight: 4.25kg Kindest Regards, Steve. Ps. I am away for two weeks from Friday 18th of July, so you need to get in quick or have some patience 😉
