  2. Have fun and enjoy. We try to slot in a rehearsal the week before a gig if we've not played in 4 or more weeks. I'm down in Selkirk tonight at the Hot Rods in the Borders get together. Usually a great night. This is our 3rd time there. They even moved the event weekend to fit in with our schedule last year as we already had a booking. Dave
  3. MXR DI + for sale only. Great solid unit in vgc, velcro on the bottom, runs off 9v battery if req, original box. Paypal f&f or bank transfer.
  4. Great set up. Ran exactly the same rig for a few years pre covid. GLWTS
  5. Care to test that theory? 😄
  6. Back on the market, buyer failed to sale his instrument to get this one. Very near offers welcome :)))
  7. TC Spectracomp, vgc, no box, velcro on bottom, £50 posted UK. Will knock off postage cost if collected. Not looking for trades.
  8. Agreed. These are brilliant!
  9. Yeah it's the neck profile mate, I don't have the biggest of hands, I have three other Precisions, all a Modern C and they are far more comfortable. It's sad because it is a quality instrument just going to waste sat here.
  10. Not that it helps you much, but if you want the explanation, it's two fold - CPC are just selling at a lower margin, different customer base, different pricing structures. But also CPC has older, lower cost stock, so their sell price is lower. Farnell sell a lot more of this part so the physical stock we have is newer and there's been a price increase. When CPC exhaust that stock their price will go up.
  11. Oh I see ! Thanks for clarifying. Cutting edge design :))
  12. I completely forgot I did this too. Shows how useful it was to me.
  13. That's my problem too, except I try to get every (non Jazz Bass) I buy, sound like a Jazz Bass. I should really just stick to Jazz Basses.
  14. Price reduced to £70 plus postage.
  15. I bought a G&L L2500 tribute because I felt I was missing out on something by not playing a 5 string. I have to admit it's a great bass and extremely versatile soundwise but I've never actually needed the 5th string, so stick with my 4 strings. I bought an Auralex gramma pad, a dozen years ago, when everyone was going on about them. I used it once or twice and, by mistake, ended up leaving it in a pub that I had played in. I was so underwhelmed by the thing, that I never bothered going back to collect it. These days I just put my amp on a chair, or a beer crate. I bought a Nord string mute, which I have never used live (maybe one day). I bought a John East J-Retro pre amp..... and liked it so much I bought another two! 😊
  16. I played my first couple or three public outings with my practice amp.
  17. There's no metal under the fingerboard on this series, but the silver lines that run along the body either side of the pickups - that used to be delta metal - it might be on your Arpege.
  18. Thanks Ped! Yes, the resin in the neck does has some kind of blue tint. On my Vigier Arpege I can clearly see the 'delta metal' under the fingerboard, I can't see it in this one. Like you say, it might be painted , I'm not sure.

  20. Thanks for your comments-yes a truly beautiful looking and sounding bass.

I've heard mixed things about some of the copies of the mini lumber jacks, for instance the Tayda ones aren't supposed to be good- finding what is good is a pain

Multicomp pro MJ-14SR - it's the multi comp version of the mini Lumberg jacks they seem to have stopped making. CPC id CN21942 Farnell 1737250 if it was a bit of a difference I would understand, CPC seem to be aimed at small volume orders more, but it's crazy difference, and not with discount as it comes down! I'ld buy from CPC but they don't have the Lumberg mono jacks I need
  23. Well, I had it to a band rehearsal the other night and I forgot to mention another source of cost saving in my initial blurb - absolutely zero shielding, not even paint. Needless to say it did not like being in the rehearsal room very much (but the noise gate in my Spectracomp made it bearable when I wasn't touching the strings). No matter, not much cavity to shield! Also, the knob arrived... Looks even better in person - the black knob with silver highlight complements the pickup beautifully. Really pleased with it!
  24. While we are at it, here is an easy way to know which hand is which: On the right hand, the thumb is on the left.
