The Ironbird which really grabbed my attention first was Johnny Rod's yellow one, love this bass.

My best (and most expensive bass) is an acoustic upright so that really ought to come out for jazz gigs. It has only been broken once (neck crack from a fall when unloading afterwards). For a local jam in cramped quarters I use an EUB I got cheaply on Ebay. I would do the usual trick of a fancy carved bass for gigs and a cheap laminated one for jams, if I had space for two acoustics.

Boss BCB90 plus effects as shown. All individual effects have their own boxes. All high quality patch leads and power supply integral to case. Case has never left the studio. All in great condition. Price does not include postage and happy to package up. Bargain price if you’re looking to set up an effects system. This covers most needs. May separate, message for individual prices

All parts bodies and neck are not cheap and also come with the need for finishing/drilling, so the asking price for this bass - given the rest of the hardware - probably isn't a whole lot more than the cost of the parts, it might even be a little less. If only it was a Precision etc etc...... And of course, @Owen will be along in a minute or two to say the equivalent 'If only it were a 5-string....' 🤣

Hey guys, Following items are for sale: FMC 1210UL I purchased this recently from Franzbassist who done me a fantastic deal on it. A fantastic little cab, but unfortunately my transport situation means that I am no longer able to take this with me on all of my gigs. I now need to find a 112 cab solution, small enough that fits in the boot of a Mazda MX5. In fantastic condition with thick cover. You will be able to find the previous add on here. Can send photos on request. Taken from Franzbassist add (hope you don't mind!) This cab has a 12" neo speaker at the bottom and a 10" neo speaker at the top. There is no tweeter. Power handling is 600 watts RMS and the dimensions are 65.5cm high, 41.5cm wide and 41 cm deep. The actual weight of this cab is 17.5 kg with the cover on. Impedance 4 ohms. To quote the FMC site "The speaker sounds more powerful than a 210, it has the transparency of the 10" and the bulkiness and centre focus of the 12" speaker. Altogether a modern and open-sounding box with plenty of depth. New price in Germany is €754 (£641). £400 collection from Swindon Bugera BV1001M (Mosfet) Brilliant amp for the money, boxed as new (purchased from Andertons back in April 25 for £229). I have a quilter V803 and TE Elf, so have decided to sell this on and help fund a new cab. Loads of positive reviews on these online. £180 collection from Swindon Tradewise I would be interested in a trade on either of the above for a 112 or 2x112 cab/cabs, plus money your way if required. Only really interested in high end cabs that can handle low B of a 5 string bass. You are very welcome to come try either of these before committing to any purchase. Kind regards Freddie

It will fit on seat, just unable to fit my bass on top of the speaker without completely blocking the view on the passenger side window. Cheers for your help!

I’d run Cali - DCX - Stomp then, get a sol underneath a nano and drop the JDI on the floor for ampless gigs. Keep the tuner if you can fit it. Simple and then the rest, sell it 🤷♂️, put it all on a nano+ for fun 🤷♂️ whatever suits

Clarky started following 2001 Fender Geddy
-
Bought very recently on the forum, gigged on Sunday (pic attached) and its just too heavy for my neck/back - had significant discomfort after the gig even though its only about 9 pounds. My other basses are sub 8 pounds and that is what I will have to stick to going forward as my neck condition is not going to improve. Robert's ad below sets out the details - its one of the first Japanese runs from 2001 with real blocks etc and with some upgrades (eg noiseless pickups). The negatives for full disclosure are that the Hipshot A tuner has a bit of play (it holds tune and works but the first bit of a turn does nothing; worked fine for me at gig but can be replaced at about £30 if it bothers you) and it was routed for a battery pack at the rear (at one stage it had a John East preamp, its now all passive again), not that anyone would ever see this. I have swapped out white scratchplate (which I still have) for a black one, so you have the choice. What else? Wearing new DR Pure Blues 40-100 nickel rounds and comes with 90s style Fender hard case. Usual gen from me - delivery by economy courier for £20 on top or collect in safe public space near me in Barnes, London SW13 (usually Barnes station car park). Passing on at the price I paid which is a bargain FS ad on BassChat:

Using a Genz Benz Streamliner and Barefaced Compact for 95% of the time. Odd occasion we might do gigs where we are going through a proper PA so a DI would be useful (do have the JDI). I do like both the stomp and the Origin Effects stuff, perhaps I could as above change it up for the smaller one and use the stomp with bigger one, and take for example the comp off as it's not really needed. The smaller board I'm wondering if I've got enough power with only the expander 4 (guess depends what I put on it).

Mine all get used. The selection comes down to the type of music being played as the usual reason for final selection. If unknown in advance, then a P bass comes along.

TKenrick started following Apogee One v2 interface for Mac
-
This is a great little bit of kit, I have the Apogee Duet too and I can't justify owning two interfaces. Discontinued now, but it works without issue on both my elderly Macbook Pro and my newer M1 Air running iOs 14 (with a USB-C adaptor). Takes a 1/4 inch bass/gtr or an xlr input as well as the built-in mic, so it's ideal for recording - I've used it for online teaching as it's a great way of easily getting my voice and bass into Zoom. A fair few scratches on it and the plastic on the channel indicator has a couple of small cracks, but I've just plugged it in and everything works as it should. £60 securely packed and tracked to mainland UK addresses.

One of my favourite flyrigs. I just don’t use it. Basically a boost, big muff, ampeg amp sim and a Boss OC2 clone. It’s the same octave circuit as the Sonicake Octaver and Valeton OC10 which if you’ve seen my octaver comparisons nail that OC2 tone. DI out and fx loop, honestly if it had a tuner it would be perfect. But it doesn’t and I cover most of my gigs with the Darkglass Element
