  2. I did the opposite some years ago. Stuck a P neck on a J body. They're compatible with each other if we're talking about Fender/Squier.
  3. Squier Sonic P. I have one. £150 of awesome 👌 Ok, I installed a Lollar P pickup because I already had one but it was fine enough stock tbh. So on paper that's £300 of awesome that now sounds as good as any P out there imho.
  4. Dressed In Decay - CKY
  5. No backup bass? Tut tut!
  6. Just emailed the tab to you.
  7. Hi, I'm not sure whether I sent you the bassline - apologies. Let me have your email address and I'll get it over to you.
  8. Hats off to Ozzy, he never half-arsed anything. Including his exit. Respect 🫡🤘x
  9. Love my p bass. It’s perfect for a lot of songs I do but I wouldn’t mind keeping it downtuned and having another bass for more delicate tunes where I need to move around the fretboard more with my tiny hands. So are there any cheaper basses that have this, or is as simple as buying a P bass and a jazz neck and swapping them around? Are the necks mostly compatible with each other? Wouid prefer a Fender or Squire but open to thoughts about anything else. Budget is maybe around £500 but may mod it for a bit more after the initial purchase.
  10. Ok, I'll admit to making a rookie error. It may have even been an album launch show, I can't remember as it was 25 years ago this happened. I had my wide strap, I had my well known brand strap locks and everything else meticulously installed and set up. Our band were a well oiled machine and were able to overcome most things going wrong in a show, as was the case this time. The screws that used to come with strap locks were woefully short (I am sure you can guess what came next...) So, I sought out a couple of long screws that had heads small enough to fit in to the strap buttons so that the straplock mechanism still worked correctly. Come the night of the gig, our drummer counted off the first song and with an enthusiastic leap in to the first note, the bass flew away from me with the same energy. I'd.... used.... brass.... screws 🤦‍♀️🙈🤦🏻🤦🏻‍♂️🤦‍♀️ I played the rest of the gig on a bar stool that as if by magic appeared next to me mid song!
  11. Bump for trade options added Overwater 5 Yamaha TRB 5 neck through Atelier Z 5
  12. I went the other way. https://www.thomann.co.uk/hoefner_shorty_violin_bass_bk.htm?gad_source=1&gad_campaignid=1581403900&gbraid=0AAAAADuDMCU5GOBhwVAGfp_YSSi159bAh&gclid=Cj0KCQjwkILEBhDeARIsAL--pjyExP3JGWHr1XKAM7xK294S-A993_Og9Trzzusp5rCVPRMatXrb1XYaAjB1EALw_wcB I always liked the idea of the Shorty Bass but that thing was just SO hideously ugly. Then a couple of years ago they brought out the Shorty Violin Bass and I thought, I have got to try that. Build quality is exactly the same as the usual Shorty, so it's just another well-made, mass-produced, Chinese instrument. And there's nothing wrong with that. They've kept the teacup knobs and the (truly awful) tuners from the original bass, but fitted a modern-style BBOT bridge with full-on 19mm spacing. It's ludicrously lightweight, balances fine, and is a complete hoot to play.
  13. I'll see your 'strap locks' and raise you a 'pick pocket'.
  14. It might be the picture, as the saddles are in different places to give some sort of intonation adjustment.
  15. Let The Rust Set In - Amanda's Tapes
  16. He made a hell of a life and career out of unpromising beginnings. I take my hat off to him.

  19. Latest album from leading Americana singer-songwriter. New, sealed, £9 posted.
  20. Half of that extra loud is sucked up with modern drivers being half as sensitive as the vintage ones old BMP was using with his 50w amp.
  21. For anyone who hasn’t heard this, it’s superb, good luck mickey
  22. Very well put together US-published book of in-depth interviews with guitarists based on a TV documentary. Refreshingly, not all are the usual suspects. Rarely seen here. 300 pages, very good condition. £13 posted UK. Now just £10
  23. The Reprise Years - his five 70s studio albums plus live at the Albert Hall and a disc of rarities. New, still sealed and unplayed, this is the definitive history of a major American songwriter. £35 posted UK - less than half retail price.
  24. Congrats George! Looks lovely Does your preamp have a weak bass boost? I find I have to boost the bass on mine nearly all the way, while treble is merely a smidge over the centre detent.
  25. According to the general rule*, 500W is twice as loud as 50W. (*all other things being equal)
