  1. Past hour
  2. Hence the "Tony Franklin like" ...
  3. Talking about this has stirred my memory. I HAVE tried one,it was in Bassbros. The fact that I'd completely forgotten about it may speak for itself.
  4. My current combo is a bit of a rare beast in that is an Ashdown ABM Neo 400w 1x15 combo. I find it covers most of my gigs with support from the PA. It lives in its flightcase which rather negates the ‘Neo’ or lightweight bit of its name, but makes it super road friendly. I am dreading having to replace it, but my candidates would include the EBS Magni 210, and the humble but well loved Fender Rumble 500 or 800.
  5. Good spot and clearly the headstock has also been changed as its different to the picture 🤣
  6. I think its a very smart looking bass and as a fretless player then this sparks my interest. I actually really like the colour as well.
  7. Clearly a Gibson... it says so!
  8. Funny ain’t it, I quite like the look of it. Could be a good buy for someone depending on the price
  9. Not a Tony Franklin as they a) only come in sunburst, black, or lake placid blue finish, and b) have a three-way Strat style pickup selector switch.
  10. I have one of these pedals built by @BabyBlueSound and it's absolutely brilliant. Biggest bargain on Basschat .
  11. Two units I'm not really using any more, £120 each posted & insured. Happy to haggle if needs be Krivo, gold standard of low-feedback magnetic DB PUPs (IMO of course....) Lifeline, also rather useful for (generally) low feedback amplification 👍
  12. The preamp/Di cull continues, bought as a 1 pedal solution 1month ago for iEM gigs and worked well but I have been seduced by the Kemper Profiler Player that I bought on this very forum. Partners well with the JHS Colourbox V1 I have for sale in this forum and there are some good videos of this pairing on YouTube price includes first class post but local collection welcome

  13. Thanks I get it, but all the basses I have ever owned went WAY further down than 2mm (I got 2 other shorties right now) without relying on adjusting neck relief, which should not be used to control string height really anyway. The nut I have never touched on this one 🙂 but yeah it's definitely cut less than the other ones on my other basses. I did not want to mess with that as I planned to sell anyway.
  14. Hey peeps. Moving on my Melvin Lee Davis preamp,DI &ir loader with data cable to install software as well as power cable. I bought this to use as a silent practice setup. Never left the house, or gigged. It’s like new tbh. I’m including the data cable you need to install the software. Great sounding preamp. It has a low and high pass filter which is accessible on the software and sets once you disconnect. Software has drum beats and a loop! You can also use this as an audio interface. Extremely capable tool. I’m moving to the mighty plug pro2. Asking for £100+shipping. I think this is fair considering the cable and power lead. Happy for collection if you are in London. happy to answer any questions.

  15. You are correct, they're not as wonderful, amazing, tremendous as legend would suggest. I've got current fivers that are as good, or better, but I just fancy one in CAR. One day ...
  16. Try the GR Bass I mentioned, it's quite the same as the Eich, but simply better. That said a Hevos combo if you can find one is an amazing little thing and also on the light side, particularly the Midget 10 in 300 or 400 Watts version, I've never heard such a small combo sounding this good. But it's not cheap at all, Public Peace (Maruszczyk) still has some in stock: https://www.public-peace.de/hevos-midget10-combo.html
  17. It gets less attractive the more I look at it
  18. Back to my 1st fave comp! Got it at such a super nice deal with a fellow basschatter.
  19. 2mm string clearance at the 12th isn't a lot, as that's usually around the deepest part of the relief curve in the neck. You can always cure this with a very small tightening of the truss rod, but that may result in some 'clank' from further back up the neck. Short scale basses can often have slightly higher actions by the very nature of the shorter stop length, but it's compensated for by the lower string tension. Dropping a string gauge can often help - I run my American Performer Mustang on 40-95 Elixirs. They seem to be ideal for the short scale, with ideal tension and tone. I did notice from your pictures that your nut isn't cut particularly deep.

  21. Given that weight and compactness are the main reasons people choose combos, separates can actually be a better proposition. One of the crop of class D heads plus a lightweight cab (or two/more) is often a lot lighter to carry. I prefer two journeys to and from the car with lightweight stuff, rather than one with a lump. Separates are also scalable -you can add cabs for bigger jobs - and in the event of a failure, you have more options. The gear tart in me would still like an AER, though.
  22. Yes, I think Pao Ferro fingerboards are either something you like or dislike. The 'furry' feeling when they're new can be odd, but it's a very hard wood that stands the test of time, second only to Ebony. The Beck Basses are nice, again, I thought of the one I played a few times as nothing special, but it was a punchy thing for a passive bass. I guess they just gained legendary status by being a rare, sought after item.
  23. Ah - that would do it! Thanks mate.
  24. How about in the Items Wanted forum? : https://www.basschat.co.uk/forum/22-items-wanted/
  25. Good enough for my classic US Spectors, good enough for me.
  26. Hi all - new to the site as after a fender P bass lyte and am at my wits end trying to find one - am I able to post a wanted ad in the for sale section? Cheers.

    PMT

The PMT videos are back up on their YouTube channel. I've enjoyed them over the years so glad they're back. I don't think it means anything other than someone didn't want to lose the content so put them back up.
