  2. Keith McMillen KMI 12 Step and MIDI Expander This is the original KMI 12 Step Controller. It can be used as a set of bass pedals, to trigger chords, samples or even drum sounds. I’ve used it with a variety of synth modules for adding strings and organ for live gigs. I’m now playing more keyboards live so I’ve gone back to my Hammond bass pedals. There is software online to hook it up to a computer or iPad but I’ve always used it with hardware and it has done the job really well. I’ve colour coded the ins and outs with tape but can remove if required I’ve also taped the note names on the unit as I found it easier to see live. I used masking tape so it’s easy to remove without much residue to clean. KMI has now been rebranded as Muse Kinetics since Keith McMillen sadly died last year. Support is still available for all the KMI branded versions of their products. It’s really small and neat compared to a traditional bass pedal controller and weighs next to nothing. The unit itself is slim and made from woven carbon fibre. I have the original (tatty) packaging for both the pedals and the expander. I’ve included a link so you can see what it does. The Mark 2 version retails at around £435 street. The included MIDI expander was bought separately for £65 as I wanted to integrate it with my outboard hardware rather than use it with my computer. Postage at buyer’s cost UK only. No trades.
  3. Thanks lowdown, it just came up on my YouTube while I was driving, it’s a pretty odd track I think but I quite liked the Bassline , your right about dozing off though 😁
  4. I've now converted our guitarist to the same Shure GLXD floor pedal version as myself and he's loving the freedom and not falling over cables with his platform shoes. Wouldn't be without mine now. Dave
  5. 100%, Ive been playing for 45 years. Bottom line nobody cares about bass or the bassist unless the tunes are literally a stand alone bass line, (Riders on the storm for eg or, 'A Forest' etc ) But if the singers mic goes south?... Its pistols at dawn and a court appearence for some unsuspecting sound dude....and yes Im exaggerating simply to make the point. Been to several theatre shows/gigs recently and the bass was just an indestinct mush, tells the story.
  6. We have a whisky thread on BC ? I used to follow the TB one but they get very defensive when your a Scot. I always got the feeling they thought they new more than everyone else and left it. Did get some decent guys tho that were happy to share their thoughts on Malts. Dave
  7. Peterson StroboStomp Mini £90 posted https://www.petersontuners.com/products/stroboStompMini/ Accurate, compact tuner with high-def LCD strobe display and top-mount jack sockets. N.B. In the photos, in the top-left corner of the screen: that's the protective film that I never removed starting to come off, not a scratch/mark etc. My feedback thread: https://www.basschat.co.uk/topic/159971-feedback-for-jrixn1/

  9. Yes, there is a lot of leg pulling here but if you don’t know what you’ve got just say/ask. There are plenty of people who will help.

  11. I'm a bit confused. Your link says, 'The Legendary Pink Dots - Madame Guillotine', but my link below is 'Madame Guillotine - Legendary Pink Dots'. I thought it was an attempt at a cover, then I noticed in the blurb on your link "Loosely based on Madame Guillotine" by The Legendary Pink Dots". Either way, it's quite absorbing and chilled because I nearly dozed off...(nothing to do with the track, it's just been an early start and a long day). Ignore me, stand down, and as you were.
  12. Dave, your one of the only guys I know that performs wireless. I've been going wireless for atleast 20 years. I love the freedom of wireless. Daryl

  14. You could be disappointed if changing your pickup doesn't reduce the hum. Have you checked the circuit? If the output jack is wired up incorrectly this can cause untold amounts of hum. Also shielding the bass's cavities (and the back of the pickguard) using copper tape with conductive adhesive — often sold as anti-slug tape, can work wonders in reducing hum.
  15. Maybe they also have a limelight and have put the wrong pics up 🤷‍♂️
  16. 🤔no one ever says that…
  17. She could be selling on behalf of someone else? We’ve had a few probate listings …“benefit of the doubt” ?
  18. I like those jackets. Daryl
  19. Ooh! I spy the Rio symbol on the 12th fret! ❤️ It should be understood that I was in my early teens when Duran Duran were in the charts and John Taylor was something of a heart-throb for me and I started learning to play bass watching Duran Duran videos
  20. 🤣🤣🤣🤣
  21. A golf club Christmas party. Never had so much space! GR Dual 1400 and a GR bass 2x10 each side of the stage, with my trusty Franz and Dingwall running wireless.

  23. Well that would be brilliant, yes.
  24. Looks like a surface scratch, probably from a hasty string change.
