You had me at, “Moogerfoogers on crack”! I’ve not head of AMT before. Will definitely be checking these out! Congrats on work promotion and belated happy Birthday @pantherairsoft!

Not sure there is much to fail, and if it did, it would only move round so you couldn't adjust it, in which case you could tune it back up,. Anyway, I contacted all the people who had the ric tuners and they didn't have them, so I contacted hipshot who told me that as long as I didn't mind putting a screwhole in my ric (which I don't), the 3/8 tuner with a 12mm long bush is a perfect fit.

Likewise. I once read an interview with Danny Kortchmar in which he said he could teach his grandmother to play screaming lead guitar, but rhythm guitar was something else entirely.

As an aside to this thread, remember these pedals don't come with a rule book. I have the one above (the only one from the range that Jack doesn't seem to have 😆) and last night at rehearsal we used it with the trumpet. The octave down setting made for a useable tenor sax sound, and the group setting made for a useable brass section type sound.

I would point out that both of my Evox 8s are second hand, so between them they were less than 1k. The XR18 is now cheap as anything.

I'm looking at a 2 x 2,set for my latest project, never seen one in the, flesh, are they half plastic? Can't tell from the pics... 😕

What's the going rate for Stingrays nowadays?

You didn't, I was just saying. ok, well the rule is to only ask for valuations in the wozzit worth forum, which you can only see if you are a member, so if you want to post it there, thats fine, just not here. -
It’s used for bedroom practice and for gigs too, I can’t remember when he said it cuts out but it’s enough to make it fairly useless.

Birthday, plus massive work promotion haul. The Asheville Music Tools stuff are basically Moogerfoogers on crack… and OMG they are phenomenal.

Thanks for that. Without a schematic I just assumed the relay was for the fan as it’s a 12v one same as the fan, and it’s next to the fan header. Really interesting info, thanks very much - I wouldn’t expect a low stressed relay to go that easily anyway so the fact it will probably be something else is bad news but might save me a lot of time. Will sell it for parts probably. I did read up that the fan should come on briefly when you start it up and it doesn’t do that so I am assuming that it’s something to do with the fan control, but if it’s heating up and cutting out so easily then maybe there is multiple problems - maybe the amp sections are struggling and getting too hot, then the fan circuit or temp sensors have given up from overuse. Who knows?

Good points. I don't want to hijack the thread but I got the 12s because their primary use case was/is to be a 'bass wedge' on stage. However, even for that I overbought and I would absolutely go for the 10s if I was to do it all again. The Mauis are 3x8" speaker per sub (so six drivers in total) and then all the tiny mids, so maybe they would be more capable than I think. Needs some testing for sure.

Independently footswitchable clean boost + VLE ('vintage loudspeaker emulation' low pass filter) and VPF ('variable pre-shape filter', a bit like a 'contour' control, scooping mids while boosting low/highs). Standard TS output plus balanced DI output (XLR). Original MarkBass power supply included (but it works fine on standard 9V supplies - I used it for years with a T-Rex Junior supply, you just get a bit more headroom if powered with 12V) Bypass can be buffered or true-bypass (switch at the bottom). It can work very well as a way to split the signal into FOH and an independent IEM rig or backline.

I bought this a while ago but then I changed my mind and it was too late to return it See all details about the preamp here: https://www.darkglass.com/en-gb/pages/tone-capsule-manual and here: https://www.darkglass.com/en-gb/products/tone-capsule Basically, it's a 3-band with lows at 70Hz, low mids at 500Hz and high mids at 2.8KHz with very easy wiring assembly.

This stereo pedal has three distortion types, can save up to 3 presets as it is without any additional gear. It can, of course, be used with the Neuro hub etc and MIDI for maximum control and maaaany more presets, but I never really explored that, the pedal does all I wanted as it stands. The Neuro app, however, is very handy, as it gives you access to many parameters. The way I used it was to create the basic overdrive/fuzz sounds using the app, and then just rely on the unit's physical controls to adjust drive, blend etc to taste. It's essentially 3 dirt pedals in one, and you can modify each until you are bored . It can run two of the distortion engines simultaneously, and blend them, stack them, or output them in stereo. It can do too many things to mention, so if you're not familiar with the Aftershock it's probably best to have a look at this: https://www.sourceaudio.net/aftershock-bass-distortion.html and this (the demo focus a bit too much on the higher gain sounds, but it's excellend at low gain sounds too): It has heavy duty 3MM velcro on the bottom, which of course can be removed. The original rubber feet were never installed and are included, as well as the cable to connect it to your phone to use the Neuro app, which gives you access to a huge array of parameters.
