  2. Best of CD collections from Dickey Betts and Great Southern and the Outlaws. Both in new condition. £12 for the pair, posted UK.
  3. Or Foam Windshields. Do you use them or do you have a good reason not to use them? I have heard that the Shure ones are the best but are the others any good?
  4. Smooth-hound wireless, when it was market leader, back in the day, was 5ms to 8ms, if I remember correctly. Can't recall if that was ever an issue for most of us? I think the point folk did make was the cumulative nature of latency when adding the impact of pedals. It's the next but one successor U4 (mono 2.4 GHz) -> U45 (mono 5.8 GHz)-> U45D (stereo 5.8 GHz) i.e. giving the benefit of 5.8 GHz and stereo, and I guess partly in response to the Swiff WX-520 coming on the scene. It will likely be 2 to 3 times the price of the Swiff thoughi.e. £200+ for the U45D vs around £80 for the Swiff (on Ali Express).
  5. Ideal for capturing songwriting ideas. Plugs directly into computer for transferring files. £12 posted UK.
  6. I'm 99.9% convinced by this, my only reservation being I have no memory of having owned one!
  7. Thanks! I think this is it. Many thanks! Looking at the panel layout front and back jogged a lot of memories.
  8. Madness. An MXR bass synth success, this shall not be...
  9. That makes sense. Surprised they didn't do it earlier really, I would have certainly looked at it when I was replacing my broken U4, and later when looking for a replacement for the MS-2.
  10. My L2 was my one and only bass for 25 years. Studio and touring. Summer and winter. Great bass. Great tone. Great performance overall and super stable. I had to get used to wooden basses and their quirks again when I eventually started acquiring more basses. (Thanks to communities like this😅)
  11. I love Walrus pedals but this is going to be a tough price to justify. Will be interesting to see whether the price is adjusted if sales aren't what they expected.
  12. It's a 14 year old thread but here's where it started: https://www.talkbass.com/threads/darkglass-pedals-are-going-to-be-made-in-the-usa-now.892646/ The relationship didn't pan out - don't know the specifics - but these Built in the USA units are Spencers redesigns. Anyway - great pedal (mine is still on my board). GLWTS!
  13. A smaller, simpler version of the GX series. Like the form factor a lot. https://www.boss.info/us/products/gx-1b/

In these tumultuous and divisive times, we must acknowledge that love, empathy, and inclusivity are not just noble ideals, but are vital components of our collective resilience and progress as a species.. While there are forces that seek to keep us in a state of conflict and mere survival, I believe that by embracing love and all its facets, we unlock boundless potential and possibilities for a beautiful, unified global future." She goes on playfully, "So yes, it’s this tiny concept that inspired the album."
  15. Bass Notes is a book written by Stone Foundation’s Neil Sheasby. It’s an on the road journal covering 2011-22 and will strike a chord with anyone with touring experience. Foreword by Horace Panter. New copy, just published. RRP £15, yours for £11 £8 £6 Posted.
  16. New, sealed and unplayed - the just released debut solo album from Dr Feelgood singer Robert Kane. Pretty rootsy, here’s a link to a video. Yours for £8 posted UK.
  17. I can't tell if these volume number posts are piss takes... As a musician, how can you be worried about what number/setting the dial is at? Imagine getting your settings dialled in perfectly, and then stressing because the square root of the bass treble and middle doesn't equal Pi.... Just close your eyes and use your ears people.... Be free. Liberate yourself from this numerical mental prison.
  18. Remember that this preamp is boost only, even if there might be a center detent on the knobs. 😉
  19. Despite what I said earlier, I have to agree that I too am more likely to use the G string when reading music, especially sight reading, as the old classical guitarist in me instinctively plays the notes within reach if my brain is busy processing the music!
  20. Squier Vintage Modified active Jaguar 5 string bass The previous owner did the following: Fender USA Hi-Mass bridge (will also come with the original bent piece of metal) Fender USA Noiseless Jazz pickup I understand the Precision pickup is a Fender USA one but don't know which one. I removed the Fender USA decal from the headstock and just stuck a skull/wings decal with my year of birth. I also stuck some red tortoiseshell vinyl over the black scratch plate.

  21. Our local Wassail & Mari Lwyd is next weekend and our Morris band will be playing throughout much of the festivities, including leading (with the choir) a public sing-along in the early evening - Farmer's Boy, Gluouscetershire Wassail, Cwm Rhondda, Calon Lan, Sweet Caroline, Delilah, Sosban Fach, etc. We had our first practice with the choir last night - about 40 of them! With pouring rain and an upstairs rehearsal room, I kept things portable with my bass ukulele and Roland Street Cube EX. It went very well - the choir were well-practiced and it didn't take long to synch together. One more practice then the wassail. There's talk of there being a couple of thousand people there, though the band will mostly be on smaller amps. I'm torn between the practicality of bass uke + TE Elf, versus making the effort and taking my double bass and my Trace AH300. The photos and video will still be there after the back pain has subsided!
  22. 🤣🤷🏼 bizarre!
  23. 1) People who post 'collection-only' pedal listings online 🥴 This isn't the noticeboard on your local village green... Sending a pedal via post isn't hard. I've sent 3 this week... I wouldn't sell things anywhere near as quick as I do currently (generally less than a week turnaround) if I refused to arrange delivery. Just denying yourself a sale. 2) People who post very specific job-lots of individually expensive items and refuse to split 🥴 I can understand if the job-lot is cheap, but I've seen a few people post entire pedalboards totalling over £1000... What are the odds someone wants your exact setup lol? Why would you not just sell piecemeal and make the sales? Imagine if you went into a shop and they said sorry you can't buy this single Tshirt, you need to buy an entire pre-chosen wardrobe of clothes.... I genuinely think some people aren't bothered about making the sale, and just want to play shopkeeper on the internets.
  24. Almost correct, but it's the GS that had a flat four, not the CX. My father was a mechanic and fond of Citroen, and we had the project to put one GS engine (1299cc and 65 hp, so the roughly equivalent of 2 x 2CV engines) in my 2CV in the late 80's, but I literally dismantled my 2CV before we could make it happen. That said in the 60's and 70's, it was quite common to put a Panhard engine in a 2CV. 😉
  25. Great condition Hellx LT complete with Diago showman pedalboard which does a great job of protecting it. The LT is in full working order and minimal signs of use. Factory reset and up to date firmware. I also have the original box up in the loft if the purchaser wants it! The case is fairly well worn and was used extensively with other pedals before the helix went in it, but it's solid and perfect for the job and has spare space for external pedals, wireless etc Collection from Chelmsford. Only selling as I need to physically downsize to a StompXL or similar (Anagram quad cortex etc) to gain some stage space. Might consider a trade/PX some something smaller!

  26. I see that Xvive have a new stereo version of the venerable u4 system coming. Looks like you plug it into left and right XLR from the mixer.
