  1. Past hour
  2. I bought this a couple of years back and did it up. It was professionally set up and restrung but I am just not using it. We were playing 80s alternative songs on folk instruments BUT I quickly got sick of taking several instruments to gigs and seem to have settled on using less. I added the fitted case, bought brand new from Gear 4 Music. The action is pretty decent and these are loads of fun / easy to play. I have it strung G-D-A-E but you can tune it C-G-D-A or like the top 4 strings of a guitar. Happy to meet Swindon - Newbury way which can be discussed via DM. Thanks for looking.

  3. Sounds promising, fingers crossed for you it works out
  4. You have a good memory Lozz. I did, an old 70s thing. Great bass. The previous owner swapped the necks over and I wanted the jazz sound but didn't get on with narrow necks back then.
  5. Bit early in the day to be hitting up the shrooms?
  6. Even funnier was they both had the same snare drum, so the evening became snare-chat!
  7. My US L2500CLF is quickly becoming like a 2nd skin. I'm getting around to thinking that any backup bass should also have 5 strings in number and have the narrow string spacing that I'm both used to and like. Does the Tribute have the same narrow string spacing? Any thoughts on it vs the US model? Any other suggestions on narrow string spacing 5ers would be appreciated too. Peter
  8. Probably technically a maple slab, but I'll get some detailed pics up later. Either way no skunk stripe 👍
  9. So I'm out , 1 allparts l/h jazz neck. Set of used Aguilar pickups. Some thomann flst wound strings and a KiOgon jazz plate .........
  10. No reply from my WhatsApp group message to the band, which suits me just fine. I banged out a "bassist available" ad on one of the Facebook musos groups and I got this reply: "Hi there, Firstly it’s great to know that there is a Soul, Funk & Groove style bassist in the area, Most are Rock or blues influenced. I, and many of my musician friends have been looking to get a really good funky soul Band together for a while, without much success as decent bass players are very rare, And finding a soul/funk/groove influenced bassist has been like searching for the holy Grail. We are all knocking on a bit (60-63), and have had lots of experience in various bands Playing various types of music, but we all like soul, funk, jazz, groove influenced music Where bass and drums are the driving force, the engine room of the band, so to speak And everything else fits in around that groove! I hope that this could be something that you might find interesting, and maybe consider getting involved in." We're going to meet up for a chat. One door shuts and.....
  11. Made in Japan, well used with plenty of scratches (see photos). Plays and records really well. No whammy bar. I’ve used it for home recording and it sounds fine, good variety of sounds. Only my playing lets it down.

  12. Thanks for your comments-yes a truly beautiful looking and sounding bass.
  13. Maple cap neck, you say? 😍
  14. This is a bitsa that came together recently and was up for sale in the rather overlong and complex parts sale. Late 70's/early 80's Daion body with a stunning 3tsb, Warmoth maple cap neck, pictured with a Squier circuit but I'm going to install an EMG Geezer PUP and circuit which will to all intents mean nothing will change looks-wise (EMG is also creme). You might notice there's a couple of screws missing, I'll of course sort those! I'll also include PUP and bridge ashtrays. I'll update with detailed photos later today. Courier or collection from Whitstable are both fine by me 👍
  15. I always find it funny that drummers almost always like to use their own snare drum. Dave
  16. I'm going to close this thread as even I'm confused as to what I've still got and what I've sold (although most of it's now gone). I'll list remaining items separately. Thanks for your interest folks 👍
  17. Agreed, PinkMohawk. I'm sure there are extra options we'd all like to make our perfect Fender Bass. As for me, I'd want a selection of previous model pickups, such as the original V-Mod and Pure Vintage Custom Shop 64's. I'd also like the option of the small/tall Vintage Reverse Tuners. We're a picky lot, aren't we?
  18. OK, thanks Tony for the reply and postcode. I should be able to do some estimation and checking of couriers later today, so will get back to you asap.
  19. Annoyingly, I can't find my blacklight. Tone demo incoming today. This is a lot of fuzz for £45 I am telling you 😁
  20. Selling my Ken Smith BT 5. Original Smith Electronics, Pickups and Hardware Original Teardrop Hardcase 18 mm String Spacing. „Real“ neck-through of the early 90s The bass is in good condition, some Dings and Dongs. Frets are good, action is low, truss-rod works without any issues. Considering trades with Adamovic or Mattisson 33 Scale basses or partial trades with a Noble DI (I sold mine and I regret it)

  21. With these barrel jacks, before soldering them I always use a multimeter and a stereo jack to check what each lug actually is as they are all of different length without any standardisation...
  22. I think you should make it more clear in the topic subject that this supersale isn't real... 🙃
  23. Check out some videos that teach you how to read/write proper drum notation using simple rhythms. I got my "mental grid" through that!
