My apologies for the lack of information, I'm currently putting together some drawings in CAD Yes the necks come ready to fit, they will include a nut, double action truss rod (headstock end) frets and the frets will be levelled. I can't get hold of Earvana compensated TUSQ nuts for bass unfortunately and they would be a £60 upcharge if I could. Standard TUSQ is available though and I use them exclusively on my own instruments. I have reached out to luthier contacts here to see if anyone has a 3d model of one. It's technically possible to mill one ourselves but there may be a learning curve involved with tolerances. If milling one is possible, I will add it to the list of options but I can't say when that will be. Tuner holes for the shafts to go through are predrilled (probably 12mm but subject to confirmation) but the screw holes are not because different folks have different requirements for tuners. Neck bolt holes are not pre-drilled but inserts and M4x40mm neck bolts are supplied. The headstock will be the standard shape and tuner layout will be standard as well (3+1). Luminay dots are possible. I will add them to the list of options.

Unfortunately I wouldn't be able to allow for those even if I could and customers would end up paying them regardless, even if I had sufficient volume in sales to justify UK based warehousing. Another option would be to bring a stock of necks over personally as checked baggage but the quantities would be limited and I could only do it during a public holiday here in China (Late January, August and, at a pinch, first week in October).

Bankai started following New Laney Range - Digbeth *Foundry*
-
The Digbeth range has been around for a few years now and included a combo and a couple of heads, all hybrid with a tube pre-amp alongside a solidstate one and Class D power section. However, they announced a couple of days a new subrange called Digbeth ‘Foundry’, kind of based on the mantra from their recent Lionheart Foundry guitar amps. In short, they set out to make inexpensive solid-state amps that do what they say on the tin without any bells and whistles or relying on valves. As such, the ‘tube’ channel of the normal Digbeth models (which will remain in production) is renamed/replaced on foundry models with a footswitchable solidstate ‘drive’ channel instead. The new Foundry products: -30w 8” Combo: £169 -50w 10” Combo: £249 -100w 12” Combo: £339 -200w 15” Combo: £449 -200w Head: £299 An intriguing range of additions! https://www.laney.co.uk/amps/bass/digbeth/dbf200h Photo of the new Foundry DBF200H: Photo of the existing DB200H for comparison: I dig the idea, their sound, and the control layout, so have just pulled the trigger on the head after teetering between a few options from other companies. This foundry line seems to hit the spot just right!

Yes - when playing in my bedroom, the strap came off my Les Paul copy guitar and it hit the kickstart of a bike engine that was also in my bedroom, putting a big dent in it. Then in 1988 I bought a Warwick with Schaller straplocks, and every instrument that can be fitted with them since then has been. At last night's open mic, the strap came off the guitar of the guy who was doing house band duty with me for the final number. It was a straplock failure, a Fender one that had come unscrewed from the strap. Fortunately he had hold of it and was able to sit on his amp to finish the song.

July , Tis the time for another Composition Challenge
Jean-Luc Pickguard replied to lurksalot's topic in Recording
I was intending to add a vocal to my track, however on re-reading the lyrics I decided it was better left as an instrumental. Drums, percussion, electric piano, & twinkly sound are from Logic Pro as are all amps and FX, B3 is my Yamaha Reface YC, Bass is my Ric 4003 recorded onto two tracks via the ric-o-sound output. -
Just a bought a pedal from Jim. A great guy with top comms and, after browsing this thread, an obvious pedal fetish 😂 As if you didn’t know already, you can have absolute confidence in any dealings with Jim 👌🏻

Lee Ritenour at Band on the Wall - proper jazz-fusion royalty and no mistake. Munir Hossn playing some sort of singlecut six-string behemoth which I could not identify, and neither will you be able to from my terrible picture. Supported by Rosie Frater Taylor who rose to the challenge of holding the interest of a room full of (mostly) blokes who were there for Lee Ritenour with a solo set pretty well, I thought. Bonus artistic photo effect courtesy of my iPhone’s mind of its own.

I probably answered this already, but mine are First Bass: 'yamato' Jazz bass copy (£75 from Soho Soundhouse in 1979) Go to bass: Fender JMJ Mustang bass (I liked my first one so much I bought another two of 'em) 'Your' bass: At the moment my 2024 Rickenbacker 4003 — I've been having a lot of fun recording using the ric-o-sound output to put each pickup on a separate track.

Been here, life's too short. Filter it down to what you enjoy and keep doing that. For me, it's writing and recording, love it, all the joy of new music with none of the baggage of being stuck in bands with people who need to sort their f***ing lives out.

It's been a big week or so for pedals here. Damnation Audio's Big to be more precise. Made in conjunction with Pet Symmetry, it's modelled after the Sanford & Sonny Bluebeard (a brilliant fuzz) and a boost pedal. Like everything of Damnation Audio's I've tried (MBD2, MBD3, Dirtfixer, Spite Box) it works rather well and actually makes me excited to play with a pick. Big-foot-esque blurry photo below.
