  6. I remember seeing that finish on an old "Thor Sound" guitar in a local shop a few years ago. It does look really neat. I'm always tempted to try that sort of solid/natural finish on one of my own builds.
  7. what's that, a 700 I've google image searched and cannot find any pictures of a blue fretless TSB550 except the ebay listing I got this from
  8. This.^^ Priced $5000 in Middlesbrough?
  9. truss rod is stuck still may take a trip to my guy, he'll have more tricks to do to this than me
  10. We were signed to Gondwana Records but just couldnt get it to work out. Which was a shame as it was a fun live band. They carried on with Chris Dagger (who is a great player) after I left. They are not officially stopped, but paused. I am still in contact with Tom as he is a good friend of mine
  11. Audio cables and mains cables running side by side are deemed a bad idea the can cross each other at an angle, but it does effectively mean you have a long aerial from a transmitter running in close proximity to the receiving aerial of the audio input. There are a few cables that run a balanced cable and a mains cable in the same bundle, Andertons do one, but I cannot find the link. Sommer also do one, Sommer DMX/Power or Audio and Power Cable. I may get some of the Sommer one to try but at almost €14 per metre excluding VAT, Duties and shipping costs....
  12. Hi peeps F/S are a set of neck and bridge pickups for Rickenbacker style basses. These are the single coil with static impedance of 8.2k Ohms (neck) and 8.4k Ohms (bridge). Bought in anticipation of a project that never happened. As you can see they are unopened but I have added in the pics from the Retrovibe website for clarity and a link to the relevant pages. These are just shy of £120 inc. P&P from Retrovibe, so offered at a very reasonable £90 inc. P&P to UK mainland by Royal Mail Special Delivery. Neck: https://retrovibe.co.uk/product/retrovibe-rick-style-neck-pickup/ Bridge: https://retrovibe.co.uk/product/retrovibe-rick-style-treble-pickup-and-chrome-surround/ And some pics:
  13. For sale is this MM style 4-conductor pickup that came out of a DiMavery MM-501 bass. Not sure who makes them but I think it's a ceramic magnet. It sounded fine in the bass but I wanted to put an AlNiCo pickup in the bass. £20 posted to UK mainland. Here are the pics:
  14. Since im sending the Sire Z7 back on Monday i'll have about £500 burning a hole in my pocket which BTB's do you fancy ?....some of the the newer BTB's have also caught my eye, there's a Ibanez BTB845V (a japanese only released 33" scale E-C) i quite fancy on the bay atm and there's a BTB SC (BTB865SC....WTF is it with ibbys lame naming....) up on Zenmarket that im mulling over (im a sucker for singlecuts) but with shipping/Import that would be up at around £600 & 3 months wait (i refuse to pay £120 to ship a bass via air vs £40 for surface)

  16. Thanks for that, I may invest....
  17. Sadowsky's Quick Release designed bridge is a good option to help with this issue and generally quicker string changes. There isn't any need to thread an entire string through and the ball-end clicks into place securely until the string is tensioned. Not sure how available they are to buy as a part, I think they may have had a version on Thomann for around £50-£60 recently.
  18. If @Stub Mandrel comes, then we can legitimately change the title to the "The NW, Scotland and South Wales Bass Bash and Petting Zoo 2026". We're very inclusive here. So far (I think) we have attending. Attendees @rwillett - A couple of 3d printed basses or guitars, this will encourage me to finish my next two off. A couple of 8" Basschat cabinets. Might be interesting to try these with other peoples amps. One is quite loud, not quite finished the other one so not sure quite how loud they go. Since I'm about 100m away, I might bring anything or everything. Might even bring and setup a 3d printer if people are interested. If there is any interest and you need something thats more than a few hours to print, let me know well in advance. @neepheid @Frank Blank @Stub Mandrel - TBC @zbd1960 - TBC @ead - TBC @ossyrocks @lee650 - TBC @80Hz - TBC @peterjam - TBC Lots of TBC's so hopefully we can firm up on numbers. So as you confirm, please add any equipment you might be bringing and update this. I'm also going to add in a list of "would like to...." so people might be encouraged to bring things... Would like to @rwillett Love to play some older basses to see what they are really like preferably with some old school valve amp heads. Would also love to play around with some amp modellers (I already have a Mod Dwarf and a ToneX) to see how they sound in comparison.
  19. After a week, the order was cancelled, by either Amazon or the Doogee shop. Had a lot on my plate at the time so did not worry about it.
  20. Epitaph - King Crimson
  21. Do you think Behringer do a gravy, jus or reduction to go with it?
  22. Open to trades on equal quality 5 strings
  23. Today
  24. Someone on here gave a good tip on that - use a capo to hold the string in place.
  25. Maybe https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/236470537199 (or https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/287042201258 for the compete tuner). Not actually brushed stainless but the finish matches quite well. This is what they look like on one of my basses.
  26. Sadly, the Meris Enzo X has had a lot of bad press about its poor tracking, and not on my shortlist on that basis. I personally wouldn't want to use any of them as a standalone multifx eg for clean preamp or drive. But for synth, and also for filter and modulation/pitch shift, for sure!
