  2. Hi There, Thanks for the message. Wow that Chieftain looks like an early model, single pickup. It will almost certainly be @ 42 years old or so but I could not put anything exact on it. I might have worked on it, but so long ago I can't be sure. Anyway enjoy it.
  3. Jimmy Woode's bass part for the exquisite ‘Sunset And The Mockingbird’ from the 1976 recording ‘The Ellington Suites’. The tune comes from ‘The Queen’s Suite’. The Suite was written by Ellington and his right hand man, Billy Strayhorn, for Queen Elizabeth II and a single record was cut and given to her. The Suite was not released until after Duke Ellington had passed away in 1974. Now THAT’S class! https://bilbosbassbites.co.uk/sunset-and-the-mocking-bird-duke-ellington/
  4. Happy to listen to offers on this

  10. Not that side. The first photo has the crocodile on it in my view.

  12. I think it's an identifying scrawl - maybe S7.
  13. £50 price reduction Trades - X Touch Universal. Try me with anything, I can only say no 😁 Great bass in good condition, comes with hard case. Short scale. Not a heavy bass. Plays well. Not really any damage to speak of. There’s a little bit at the top of the headstock (photographed) but looks much worse than it actually is. I’ve removed the strap lock pins and replaced them with the originals that were odd when I got it. The case is old but fully function and all the clasps work. Chrome hardware and a vintage sunburst finish. Mahogany neck, rosewood fingerboard and a basswood body. A retro instrument with a modern twist." Maple Top Mahogany Body Mahogany Neck Lignum Rosa Fingerboard Entwistle MBH Bridge Pickup Entwistle MBN Neck Pickup Jumbo Frets 42mm Nut Width 30" Scale Length Can post at buyers expense or can be collected from BB22SH Any questions please ask.

  14. Something I was putting together as a backup but ended up with something else…… Slab Precision 66 type body. The paint is thin and not the best finish but not embarrassing. I didn’t paint it, it was like that when I bought it from here. It’s fine when it’s dressed up though. The neck pocket is bit oversized but when I fitted the neck (that I bought from here separately) , the holes lined up perfectly. I presume they are drilled for a standard Fender neck fitting. The neck is quite nice. It has Fender decals but it’s not a Fender. The decals have also been lacquered over. It has black Schaller tuners and a Geddy Lee neck plate. I think someone was building a Geddy at some point. The pups are Fender. They came out of a Mex Deluxe I believe. i was going to change the harness as it sometimes makes a crackle noise, not all the time, just now and again. Never got round to it as it’s so infrequent. Plays well enough and the neck is quite skinny. I haven’t weighed it but I would say it’s between 8-8 1/2 pounds. It could be a lot nicer with a bit of tlc but I’m not going to use it now and thought I may as well pass it on to someone. Collection and trial much preferred but I will post if the buyer arranges their own courier. I’ll throw in an old Gator case to ship it in. It’s seen better days so don’t think you are getting a posh new one 🤣 It’s a freebie!

  16. New Sadowsky Special Editions for 2026: The Masterbuilt for 2025 was £8000+ and the Metroline Special Edition about £4300. These are not likely to be any less expensive. I'm not at all keen on a satin finish on any of the Metroline basses, let alone a Special Edition model. Gloss looks more finished and is much more durable in the long term. The Masterbuilt looks very nice to me. It's an awful lot of money, though.
  17. Didn't he have a Kahler tremolo or similar in his bass?
  18. So i've been out of the BASS/Bassist loop for a little while & after feeling the pull of the low end once again i thought i drop a post to ask about catching up on Who/What i've been missing out on for the past 15 years or so? My fav's of yesteryear player were/are guys like Bromberg/Manring/Hamm/Caron/Wooten/Malone/Miller/Larue/Campagnani/Nitti...etc, so all the slapper/taper/soloist kind of bassist that do the fusion/prog type stuff id guess, I've been catching up on these guys & sofar some good & some WTF is this mess moments Now i did drop by Youtube first to see what was up/down....BIG MISTAKE, WTF is with all this BASS BATTLE/Bass influencer stuff ? (no doubt at 52 im guessing its that i just "don't get it") 2 Guys that have popped up on the radar that i have on playback loop atm are Alex Lofoco & Fernando Molinari, both monster players that also have great tunes/groove...Id say that Alex is like all my fav player fussed into one with a health amount of himself, shame he only seems to have released one album in like 8 years? So any recommendations for me ? Cheers
  19. No idea, but love the toothless crocodile.
