  2. Ever wanted that mega Bi phase action like a musitronic! But smaller and cheaper. These are difficult to find, so my last bump.
  3. Raising cash so up for sale is IMHO one of the finest tracking octavers available for bass. It has two distinct octave voices a Growl which replicates the toothy synth tone of an OC2 and a Girth which is smooth and deep like an EBS octabass/octamizer. You can get subtle variations from mixing the two. It also has a switchable mid boost/cut on the clean tone which can be adjusted internally, very handy. Usual small MXR enclosure with fantastic build quality. Its in great condition and a beautiful deep blue sparkle. No box, but will be well packed. (Note- the A sticker will be removed and cleaned, ive a two channel setup and kept mixing them up 🤣) £85 posted to UK only
  4. I have a Status copy with a bolt-on carbon neck made by him. I modified the bass with Noll electronics. It would be nice to see all creations he has done over the years.

    PMT

I sort of thought the opposite to that, in that as I became more in the market for spending a bit more money on instruments, I lost interest in going to PMT in recent years when the instruments in stock were reduced to nothing but cheaper end Fender/Squier, Sterling Subs, lower end Ibanez and Cort related stuff. If you're in that mid to higher market, it's preferable to have the opportunity to go into a physical shop and spend time trying things out to find that mythical one that feels just right before laying down well over a grand (or more), but PMT took the option of selling only the cheap mass produced identikit far eastern stuff that you can easily buy literally everywhere else online, giving them no USP. I'm sure they used to have interesting higher end stuff. When I properly got back into playing and thought I should buy myself a new bass for the first time in 30 years, I went to PMT Cardiff in early 2019, tried a few basses and spent £600 on a nice enough Ibanez. I remember the guy next to me at the till was buying a £2K EBMM Stingray. I also remember admiring all the USA made Les Pauls and PRS hanging on the wall. All that higher end stuff completely went out the window in recent years (or they never ever had it in the Cardiff branch at least, nor the couple of times I visited the Bristol and Portsmouth shops), leaving them competing with the likes of Amazon in terms of what was actually available to buy in store, and you can obviously never outcompete Amazon in shifting huge volumes of cheap mass produced gear, you shouldn't even try.
  6. So I used my Sennheiser 100’s again last night with a Behringer P2M as it was a sit down gig. It was probably the heat/sweat but I was struggling with the fit of one earpiece. I’m using the largest tip I’ve got, but I think I need a larger tip for my left ear. Sound / mix wise, the gig had an in-house PA and engineer, and a quick turnaround between bands so I went with bass at unity, everything else at -6db and I had a great sound.
  7. Hi, yeah both 4x10 cabs are still available at the moment
  8. What a shame you're in the Netherlands - my Ric 4003 is up for sale but would happily part trade -
  9. I have used him in the past on an old Ric I had.. Black plate and TRC which he would only do on proof the Ric is genuine...
  10. Two channel digital delay, 4 modes (copy, analog, modulation and reverse delay), it can take a footswitch (not included) Great condition, home use only. Price includes UK postage. edit: not sure why the photograph doesn't show  so let's try this

  12. Tiny overdrive, particularly good at low gain thick bass overdrive tones that retain the low end. Very small consumption (manual says 6 mA) and according to Mooer: "very small and exquisite" 😄 It also says, about its 2-mode operation: *HP: High peak mode, boost up the bottomend, when increasing distortion by Drive knob, you will get more volume and a slight increase in high-mid range (around 3.5KHz) *LP: Low peak mode, color up extreme little to the original sound, very nice for clean boosting The pedal is in excellent condition. Price includes delivery (UK).
  13. This stereo pedal has three distortion types, can save up to 3 presets as it is without any additional gear. It can, of course, be used with the Neuro hub etc and MIDI for maximum control and maaaany more presets, but I never really explored that, the pedal does all I wanted as it stands. The Neuro app, however, is very handy, as it gives you access to many parameters. The way I used it was to create the basic overdrive/fuzz sounds using the app, and then just rely on the unit's physical controls to adjust drive, blend etc to taste. It's essentially 3 dirt pedals in one, and you can modify each until you are bored . It can run two of the distortion engines simultaneously, and blend them, stack them, or output them in stereo. It can do too many things to mention, so if you're not familiar with the Aftershock it's probably best to have a look at this: https://www.sourceaudio.net/aftershock-bass-distortion.html and this (the demo focus a bit too much on the higher gain sounds, but it's excellend at low gain sounds too): It has heavy duty 3MM velcro on the bottom, which of course can be removed. The original rubber feet were never installed and are included, as well as the cable to connect it to your phone to use the Neuro app, which gives you access to a huge array of parameters.

  14. I had one once. It was a lovely thing but it was a single pickup bass and I did not do single pickup basses at the time. I would take it back now
  15. MarkBass Superbooster pedal in very good condition. It combines a clean boost (it's called 'boost' but it can be used to set a lower level rather than a boost when you press the footswitch), plus the classic controls from the Little Mark amps: Vintage Loudspeaker Emulation (VLE) and Variable Pre-shape Filter (VPF). The VLE acts much like a LPF, and the VPF is a bit like the contour control on many amps, that scoops the mids while boosting lows and highs. It's also a DI box. Underneath it has a little switch to select whether the bypass is buffered or 'true bypass'. Original MarkBass 12V power supply included. Despite running on 12V, I can confirm it runs well at 9V. I used to run it off a Voodoo Labs 9V multipower supply. It does feel like there's more headroom at 12V but I found the difference not worth using a separate power supply for it. Price includes delivery in the UK (1st class, signed-for). Here's the blurb from MarkBass: https://www.markbass.it/product/super-booster/ And the pedal itself...

I don't know what's going on with the pictures... 😕 If you copy/paste this into a new browser window it should display: https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/dmc0qsstctanrv5a9dkpl/IMG_20250511_142124.jpg?rlkey=30q3y5x613v5lnlhes6eqtm51&dl=1 It's the yellow one: https://www.markbass.it/product/markbass-mb-octaver/
  17. I do all my home practicing on headphones, and never noticed any noise with my WS90's.
  18. I might temporarily go back to using that while I decide, as the compression is better than the hiss The overdrive doesn't affect the noise of the unit, but as you are amplifying the sound more to overdrive, a larger part of the signal becomes the hiss, to the point where if nothing else is playing, the hiss is pretty loud. Obviously in the scope of a full band playing you don't really notice it, so I don't worry too much but I am doing an event mixed by someone else in a few weeks, and they are certainly going to have an issue with it. It is possible the hiss is inteference with something else I gig with - I have wireless IEMs and there are other wireless things around, but that doesn't help much if we need those things.
  19. Hi all, sorry iv been away for a few days in the sun 😎 ok dad, they have been my secret weapon for years now, very hard to find, they are ROYTEK, hand made? in Italy about 25 years ago, these as you can see by the badge on the front of the case were a part of the "Proel" group and im sure i seen a strat copy ROYTEK guitar once ! https://proelworld.com/it/it/it/it/it/ so i have only had one of them for about that long not 30ish as in the op, ( though does seem that long 🙂 .. ) they only pop up on ebay now and again, not seen one on there for years and this week one popped up so i grabbed that as well, though not with its case, may be an older one when they sold them without a case, its been a fantastic mic and my go to for all vocals, and on all the songs i have released, to put that in to context i have about 40 mics to choose from ( not joking ). It still works as does the other two, its just on one when you get too breathy it can cut out, on saying that,,,if used with out a pop filter it always did do that, so i always use filters on them, but one now and again even with a filter when a singer gets abit too excited it will pop off, so thought it might be time for a capsule change, for the price of them prob worth a go, i know you can get them cleaned, i have done this myself in the past with good results. Regarding changing the capsule iv got no probs as i do electronics anyway almost everyday, mainly fixing mixing desks and recorders for studios. so the chance to get an original capsule is prob long gone unless the one used is a stock bought in part as most are. so al have a go. @ 80 hz cheers i did try that, its not a preamp issue i have a fair few preamps including Amek 9098 and its the same on all, Regarding the up grade of the cct board, for this one in particular as you can see its a modders dream, as there is no SM stuff, just good, old school components with space, but yea, thats a whole new topic we could open up as reading some of the comments a few people would be interested in, would someone like to start a new post in the recording section regarding this or just carry on on this post ? but is something i would also be very interested in also. cheers all for your input, https://proelworld.com/it/it/it/it/it/
  20. This thread will be carried on on Fretboard forum here Catch you guys around 😁
  21. I have no idea why you’re so upset? We all agree you can do whatever you want when it comes to bass. But if someone asks for advice their opinion may different from yours. Anyway, it’s Sunday and I’m hungry.
  22. I use ffmpeg (and google the arcane command line/incantation required every time) - other more friendly tools are probably available.
  23. Do you know I really don't think I'm suited to Basschat - you have convinced me. Shame as folks seemed to be enjoying the bass rebuild thread. Those who want to continue to read about that quest can find it ob Fretboard forum. Take care chaps.
  24. How do you reorientate videos? LOL WhatsApp Video 2025-06-22 at 12.50.37 PM.mp4
  25. Not at all. I use these when I play in a bluegrass band. The percussive nature and slap is all part of the job. Having the right technique means I can play 2 gigs and day over a consistent period with no pain, problems or issues. You can do whatever you want, but when you’re making recommendations to people who haven’t played before it’s always better to start with what’s considered the orthodoxy.
