Question: Filling pocket screw holes on maple neck
JJMotown replied to Grooverjr's topic in Repairs and Technical
Screws come in different widths, you may have slimmer ones, check dimensions and get next size up or some slightly wider. -

Gallien Krueger Plex, as Duff used GK amps, and a chorus pedal of some sorts will get you well into Duff territory.

Japanese dimensions and fit are different to standard. The curve you're talking about you'll have to judge by eye, some are rounded, others more angular.
-
Cheers for the advice and ill keep it in mind, unfortunately i don't think it will help in this case as a side by side shows that the widest part is a few mm further forward on the new one resulting in a shallower angle on the 'curve' meaning there will always be a gap between guard and plate

I play in a band and all are Di’d into the Pa. I currently use a tone hammer. I’ve got it into my head that I want to have the Duff Mckagan sound from the 90’s. Other than the pj bass what pre amp/ Di could I use ? And other pedals too. Thanks

I found that removing the pickguard, then fitting the control plate, and then re-fitting the pickguard usually works. It took me a while to figure this method out though, as in the past I've ended up sanding the pickguard to get it, and the control panel, to fit snugly.

How was your open mic or jam night last night?
tauzero replied to tauzero's topic in General Discussion
Co-host and house band guitarist James Bartholomew was back from Glastonbury and assorted other places where he'd been gigging with his band Jayler, and house band drummer Luke was back from holidays, so Sunday night at Pitchers was a bit of a reunion. Kept me pretty busy too. I preferred it when it was on Fridays, with an 11pm close rather than 10:30 and with the day after not being a school day - not that that affects me any more, but audiences drift away a bit earlier. And I bravely risked arrest by wearing a "Free Palestine" T-shirt. -

I bought a new control plate for my Fender Japan JB62 PJ as i'm doing some electronic upgrades and needed wider pot holes. However despite the overall dimensions appear correct the new plate seems to have a different 'curve' on the volume pot end and therefore doesn't fit the pickguard. Any ideas as to what plate i'm likely to need as i'd rather not drill out the holes on the original?
